    Nitecore Tiki GITD vs Jetbeam mini one SE
    Both very good keychain lights its hard for me to say which is best
    I guess it depends if you have tight pockets or not, as silly as that sounds.
    the eagle eyes may notice a slight throw advantage on the tiki in certain shots, as well as the obvious better saturation/tint/rendering.

    I’ve had 2 of the tiki’s for about 4yrs now. One hasn’t left my keys. It’s great to find something real quick. Has always been there when I needed it. The GitD one is probably my fav of the two versions. The red/blue is kinda useless as a non LE. I keep it on the keys in case I ever need the red. The giTD one however is way more practical and has been in my pocket a lot. I’ve used it many times as a little lattern on a table or hanging in tent. Can’t really go wrong with it as an edc. Let’s be real I’m not using my tiny pocket light for hours on end. I have lights in my bag or car for that. I rather have something so light and small it’s not digging into my leg or weighing my pants down. I have to say for being $20 I have gotten way more then my moneys worth out of both them. I have considered the jet beam but end of day I think I like the nitecores a bit better. I do wish they would get with the times and make a type c version

    Thanks for another great in depth review. I’ve done intensive research between the various nitecore tiki and the jet beam mini one se. Both evaluating on paper and at the physical shop handling them in person. Hands down without a doubt I much prefer the jet beam mini one se over the nitecore tiki. I found the button required too much force to operate on the tiki and yes I know many people stated it might be a good thing to help prevent accidentally having it turned on. I found the jet beam just right not too easy and not too hard the switch and I like the memory mode as well that the tiki does not have. You stated you hated the procedure for the lock out mode on the mini one se well I didn’t like that the tikis default mode when turned on it is automatically set on ultra low. So it’s a bigger every time I need to change power settings in order to get to the level I would typically use on the tiki. I also need to single click the tiki for power settings which I found annoying as apposed to just holding the switch on the mini one se for the power adjustments too. So far my mini one se had no accidentally turning on and I usually have it set at 35 Lumens setting so touch wood if it does go on by accident there’s a good chance of me catching this since I’m often digging for my keys 🔐 in my pocket throughout the day or I need some quick light. My pant pockets are loose and not skin tight thankfully so that’s another reason for less of a chance having it turned on by accident. I realize everyone’s temperament and patience is different but when I tested the lock out mode on the jet beam mini one se despite the extra steps I didn’t mind it at all and I’m glad I have it. Say if I knew this is my only light with me ( highly unlikely) and I’m out in some remote area I’d definitely make sure it’s on lock out mode despite requiring these extra steps to turn it on just to make sure I don’t accidentally kill my light by having it on unknowingly vs having no lock out mode option from the nite core tiki. Also I much prefer the red and green light to help preserve my night vision and there’s blue and UV as well and blinkers thrown in for good measure. lol 😂 I just found the side cri white light on the tiki redundant and not appealing since it has a main light anyways and if I need it diffused I’d just put a single layer of tissue over the main light. I just wished the jet beam mini one had like a 200-300 or so mah battery instead of the 120 mah. For me if it would of been say another inch or so longer it would if been perfectly acceptable for me due to the larger battery size. Alas we can’t have it all. 🙄

      Excellent points! Yes you are completely right the TIKI button is harder to press. I did find that tiring after extensive turbo usage in night time testing, but you are also right to say some people will say that's a good thing to prevent accidental activation of button. And I agree if jetbeam increased the cell size they would have an even better light. Although I am now carrying the TIKI on my keys if it broke I would also enjoy using the jetbeam. I would recommend either as very good lights in my opinion. Your button and memory mode info here for the jetbeam is spot on thanks. 😁👍

    A thorough expansive review of these lights my friend. I like the tint and switch on the Nitecore Tiki if I were in the market for a keychain light.

      Thank you. I will say right now both of these lights are very good. I would be very happy to carry either. As you know I love a warner tint so as such I carry the TIKI but the jetbeam is still a very good light with more lumens max.

    WoW!!!! What a fantastic review & comparison of these two lights. Nitecore definitely takes home the prize. That Osram LED looks so much better. And I like the side flood light in white much better. I have no use for reds & blues (I'm not the police 😄). And I would prefer the better button on the TlKI. 👍

      Thanks mate. Well I still have the tiki on my keychain it's with me every day and still works. I rarely have a need for red and green lights, even UV functions I rarely have much use for. The tiki airways seen to be on a deal in Amazon or somewhere or other. 👍😁

    I bought the GitD TIKI.
    I just need to see the keyhole when I'm sneaking back from the pub trying to open my front door.
    It's perfect.
    Plus the UV helps me check any banknotes I get back in change at the brothel.... don't want those visits on my Visa statement😀🤨

    If uv seems brighter its probably slightly "less uv" probably 365 on nitecore, 395 on jetbeam

    I’ve had the rovyvon a8x-u and the tiki gitd.. I only really ordered the nitecore to play with for a day or two and had planned to gift or sell it.. it was pretty cool, but the lack of high cri main lit kind of made it an automatic no for me. Sold it to a coworker the day it came. Ended up ordering a second one to send my mom though.. her flashlight collection consists of one of those awful 6xaa lights with like a dozen leds so I thought she needed an upgrade. The tiki alone would have been an upgrade but I also sent her an eagtac d25c ti that I’d ordered as a spare, but was literally never gonna use as I’ve acquired other lights since then and my old 2015 eagtac still works fine after years of carry and daily use.

    Easy win for the Jetbeam Mini One. Type-C vs Micro USB means the Nitecore Tiki was obsolete as soon as they released it.
    Shame on nitecore for not releasing a Type-C version

      After owning *two* jet beams you’ve reached a conclusion based on this video that the tiki had a better beam??? I sense a shill?!

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 роки тому

      Looking at the beams side by side the tiki appears to throw slightly further, despite its lower output. What do you find when you compare them side by side? I promise I don't work for either jetbeam or nitecore. I like the jetbeam its a good light. The difference is minimal but I have to state what I see. Thanks for the comment thought. Check out my T1 review this weekend where I do further zoomed in footage showing the difference between jetbeam and tiki, the throw is slightly better. Have a great day 👍

    You're always doing the tiny little flashlights. I'd like to see more Osram LEDs in these. They could get twice the lumens and throw here.
    but I get it the white 2.2 is like 50 dollars, if you buy them in bulk for 1000 pieces (70 if you get just one LED. from Osram Oslon)

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 роки тому +2

      These osram LED are very interesting to me. I don't know why they don't get used more than they seem to on the market. I tend to like to look at the smaller lights that people carry as apposed to the mega large expensive ones that are to big to EDC. But if I win the lottery I'll review the whopper lights more 🤣
