I have the A4 Ti and the A8, both absolutely fantastic and blow Olight away IMO. I have the A8 on my keys in case I break down, got the flashing red light on there
Wait so does the a5 have the same functions as the a3 as well as the clear body and different lights on the body? It has an actual front light on it as well right
For family members not into this stuff, I get them a Nitecore Tube… $12, lots of bright colors, size and weight of a key, usb changing and dead simple UI. For myself, I always choose something with a clip that points the light down when clipped to shirt or waistband. That’s my favorite approach for hands-free use.
Love the Lumintop EDC01. Been on my keychain for 4 years. Came in handy so many times. Even simply dropping my keys at night and can find them with the glow in the dark diffuser. Well worth the £7.99 it cost me.
I've been carrying a Rovyvon Aurora for the last 3 years and the battery life is starting to go down. It served me so well that I just bought a second one to replace it. Nothing else comes close to it for me.
RovyVon Aurora A8 (warm/UV/Red) on all keychains. They are all holding up fine and the ridiculous magnetic clip means I can stick my keys to the fridge or wherever. My house+Jeep keys have the E8AngelEyes. I moved all my free olight i1r (of various varieties) that I have to be zipperpulls on my coats and jackets because they are far more durable and unnecessary backup backups to my EDC. GF loves the imini2 for keychains I'll have to check out that EDC01, I like the options it presents.
I've been EDCing two Rovy Von Aurora A5Us for 3-4 years now. I use them daily in my work clipping them to my hat or holding them in my mouth for the most part, as I usually need both my hands to do my work. Since I must wear a special hat, head lamps are not an option for me. I typically use the high power setting and turbo when I drop something on the ground I need to find. Sometimes I also use the side light and UV to check for flaws in things I inspect. One of my A5s just finally died (prolly due to my saliva- sorry gross) even tho it's supposed to be sealed, it still gets through. I clean them with electronics cleaner often to keep the insides as clean as possible, but I'm tough on my EDCs. 3 issues I think RovyVon has addressed with their A series mini lights- which is why I'm buying another A5 to replace my dead one (UPDATE... I bought an A8 instead) :The old model A5 had an issue with the rubberized on-off switch falling out and often getting lost (I had to super glue mine in). Luckily I found my switch in my pocket and on the ground a few times. Also, the USB rubber seal that seals the USB connector would fall out occasionally just like the switch, but I think this is now better attached on the new A5s now. And lastly, I believe RovyVon has upped their game by upgrading the USB charge port from mini USB to USB-C. USB-C is just more robust and is a uni-directional plug for charging- the charging USB cord can now be put in in any direction instead of only one way. BTW.... USB-C is the ONLY connector you should have on your USB rechargeable items as it's uni-directional and more durable than all other USB cables.
Olight is a great marketing company selling good to very good product. Reminds me of Bose, or Beats. Never would feel ripped off at sale price, never would feel like I got what I paid for at MSRP. As for their keychains, the I3E eos is best as you can put it on, twist slightly back, and then you can just press slightly on the head and have a momentary light without having to do a twist while carrying groceries, etc. Much easier to single hand it.
I just got the Lumintop EDC01 and I thought it's a little hard to turn one handed. In addition to being awkward for me to control, it was causing me to accidentally advance it from low to high. So I removed the O ring and I like it way more that way! Turns super easy now. I know it's not as water resistant, but I can live with that. More worried it might cause a problem with the threading, but it was bugging me too much with that O ring.
My keychain light is the Nitecore Tini 2. It has a LCD display which shows the light run-time per output mode - very useful to know when to recharge the light.
Great list and video! My current most used small keychain/pocket lights are the Lumintop EDC01, and the Rovyvon Auroa A8 and E3 Angel Eyes. The E3 is easily my favorite due to 1) size, 2) "dual fuel" with a USB-C rechargeable LiPo and traditional AAA, 3) aesthetics and form factor, and 4) functionality with the various output modes
My favorite in this size is the Mass drop brass AAA made by lumintop. It's not fancy ultra bright or even very cheap so I wouldn't expect it to make your list, but it's my favorite pocket light and it's been in my pocket every single day for 2 years at this point. If it ever needs replacing I hope I can get another, I just may have to buy a spare to keep on hand.
For keychain....I still use a Photon Micro light...because it is the size of a quarter...and good output for size. I use Olight I3E in 5th pocket, with SAK Rambler.
The Lumintop EDC01 is capable of running 10440. Been running mine for months now and so far, I've had zero problems except for the heat, but it's manageable.
I gave my i1r2 to my sister (who would still rather use her phone light). Im using the opportunity to upgrade. I tried and enjoyed the ek1 but it broke surprisingly after a few months. I might try the aurora a8 next.
Had no idea about the trick of getting it for just the price of shipping! I used it as an excuse to get a baton 3 clip for my ts10. Excited to try out this i3e!
I got a Rovyvon Aurora A2 for years. It still works but battery life isn't as long as it used to. I would like to get another one from them but it would be nice if they add a battery life indicator.
I've heard that lumintop AAA lights can handle 10440s without incident. At least if the light were only used at length in its medium and low modes, there shouldn't be much concern, should there?
Nice look. I've tried quite a few of those, except for the AA Lumintop you showed; I do have their Tool AA, which is a good one. The Olight i3e is a real disappointment though, as it will only take 1.5V AAA; it will not run on a 1.2V rechargeable. To get that, you have to get the i3T, which isn't one of their giveaway items. On some of the little ones (but not Olight), the battery is a replaceable 10180. I have a couple of the Rovyvon knockoffs; they're fine, but just like the Rovyvon, are for collecting only, due to their non-replaceable batteries. The imini2 does live on my keychain as a backup. The original imini was a sad joke, with its 3xLR41 cells. It was tiny, but way too big a pain to keep powered.
Im looking for a really small torch for my keys as iv already got an A5 i use round the house daily but wanted to mention its fantastic. I got the cree version and love the colour temp beam pattern and even the side leds mirror the warmer high cri main chip so 10/10.
magnets will hold if attached vertically (one above other) due to weight rather than horizontal where weight works against magnets. Budget friendly S12
My keychain flashlight is the Keyport Pocket Flare 2.0 as an outer module on my Pivot 2.0 key solution. It's a flooder -- I would be surprised if it had more than 100 max candela. Low mode is 4 lumens at 15 hours (perfect for keyholes), medium is 33 lumens at 2 hours. Both low CRI. It has a higher CRI lamp setting at 90 lumens for 1 hour. Because it's on my keys, it is always with me.
I would be really interested in a comparison video of all the Rovyvon lights that you have, especially the ones in the A series, because it is very confusing to figure out what all the different models do and what features they have.
I didn't know that the Rovyvon pocket clip is magnetized. I like to have a i1r with the car keys. I can recharge it while I'm driving. Only miss the pocket clip.
Another great video. The rovyvon lights are fantastic as edc lights. If they made them slightly longer with a more stout pocket clip they would be perfect in my opinion. 650 lumens is plenty for me.
Is there any alternative for the imini 2? And I don’t mean only a small flashlight but a flashlight with that specific magnetic actuation. I really like the design and all, but i need a bit more power than what the imini 2 has.
The Prometheus Lights are easily the most overpriced lights on the market...$60 for an AAA powered light in aluminum made in china is straight up crazy sauce. I had one in fact, finish flaked right off.
Community, I just moved to the country and I need some recommendations on how many lumens do I need for headlamps, flashlights, and camping flashlights, a spotlight, and work lights for DIY projects. Thank you.
oh boy...in the country you need a variety of different functions. Headlamps should be fine at around 500LM or lower for top end, go with larger batteries if more runtime is needed. A thrower is key, as you can reach out at long distances 500-1000lm, but with 100,000 CD or higher Right angle flashlights (aka) headlamps can do a lot of what you need then supplement from there.
Love the video man. I love the lunentop bean pattern but hate the color. Is there any other flashlight that is thst strong but has high cri or neutral white with that beam pattern. The way it lights the whole area. If anyone knew it would be you. Thanks man.

Actually, I alt-tabbed from the store with a preselection on it to youtube 2 minutes after that notification went out.... Stopped my serious looking, cuz you spared me a lot of orientation time!
