Stella sung it, she didn't create it. Tarkan and Sezen Aksu re-wrote the English version themselves, along with 2 American writers. Stella's version and Stella herself were pretty much unknown outside of the US. Holly Valance was already known in AUS and the UK (possibly Europe as well) as an actress, plus her version fitted better with the rest of the pop music that was around at the time.

The memory of this song just came out of nowhere tonight and lodged itself in my brain. All I remembered was the "kiss kiss" part and that she was blonde and that this was the late 90s/early 00s. No other reference point at all. Finally found it after digging around because my brain won't let me sleep if I didn't uncover this gem of a hit. Couldn't view the video anywhere because of my location but I'm a masochist and finally found a site that let me. I don't know why I watched it but I had to. I remember hating this song immensely and wondering why it existed. All the awful feelings and aversion I had towards this 15 or so years ago came rushing back but my heart embraced it like much needed nostalgia. JK. Its sound and vocals are still extremely awful but the lyrics are eternal. Solid gold there.

B Unit It became a regular "Night Club" song around the year 2000 - 2001 in Atlanta GA. I do not remember it played on the radio.
No it was not. It reached #27 on a Top 40 airplay chart but I never heard it on the radio. I only saw it on MTV once and that vague memory is the only reason I'm here commenting today. I always expected to see more of her but the music industry is fickle.
