I tried them on at the Vans store a couple of weeks ago and I gotta say: I was really impressed with how comfortable and well constructed these shoes are. Well done Vans, and it comes from someone who hasn't been able to enjoy Vans in a very long time. For once the price is kind of justifiable, I'm still not buying at that price but if I ever find a deal, I'd gladly buy one or 2 pairs of these (also Rowan is the man).
Yeah definitely my favorite vans shoe so far.
I’ve always loved Vans as a company, I wear a lot of Vans as daily shoes but I only actually like a few of their shoes for skating, but I love that they are coming out with more solid cupsoles in the line up

I miss when the standard for a no frills cupsole skateshoe was $50-$65

Yeah this one was goooood.
I haven't skated them yet but I'm not a fan of the look of the shoe. I've been a HUGE fan of the "bulky" shoe renaissance that's been going on last couple years. Like eS' has been absolutely nailing it lately. Bringing back the Scheme, the Creager, the Muska, the Penny 2s, the 197, the Arto, and a few more. Even a couple other brands have been coming back with the "bulky" shoe like C1rca has some nasty shoes out right now too. But I've been going hard with buying eS' the last couple of years. They've been absolutely killing it

They kinda remind me of some of their cupsole shoes from the nineties. Specifically the trench, drool, and dna. I only had the trench, but they were nice. I got two pairs back to back

If a shoe has canvas on the side I will ignore it. I use the whole side of my shoe for heelflips. From heel collar to ollie area, the whole shoe gets damaged. Vans focuses more on looks and breathability than the shoe's quality and longevity.
If a shoe has canvas anywhere on it I'm not skating it. Idc how good the shoe performs or how good it looks
Its depends companies can do creative stuff with it to save money like put canvas or synthetic materials on the inside part of the shoe where no wear happens typically from trick skating ive seen companies like fallen and etnies do it but still most of time they blatantly put in terrible areas vans is notorious to me for being the worst in this category i mean i literally won't buy the skate old skool because its a pure scam they have audacity to make casual wear shoes with sll pig suede but sell only canavs in the skate versions

May I ask. How should shoes fit?? My foot is 28,5 cm and unusually I’m wearing a size 11,5 (29,5 cm). But I don’t know if that’s to much space in skate shoes. How is your set up?

Just a snug fit is good. Not super tight but you don’t want them loose.

I am skating the Rowan 1 now and I’m not a fan . Coming from Nike gt blazers and the vans just don’t fit my feet as nicely . Also not a fan of the pop Cush insole . These look a lot better
