In this video, I ranked every Vans skate shoe from best to worst. The ones not on this list are the TNT's, sk8 hi's, chukka lows, and Grosso mids. I only ranked the shoes I personally tried. This video is a tier list of skate shoes.

i have rowan pro and that shoes is a piece of art, a masterpiece of vans
So many youtubers have commented that it's ugly but I got them in blue and white and I don't think they are ugly at all!! One of the nicer looking Vans, if anything! Plus they skate perfectly!

It’s a love hate thing with the rowans for me. They take so long to break through the suede or the bottom of the soles, so long that you continue to skate them even after all the foot support has gone soggy/flat and then your feet end up with hella heel bruises and arch strains 😂😂

I agree almost totally. You should try the BMX versions. I skate, and ride BMX, and the durability, plus the board/pedal feel is killer
Do you wear the BMX versions for skating, too? Managed to find a pair of sk8-hi's at value village for $10 (but they are the BMX version) and I don't know if they will get trashed completely when I skate them, and I don't BMX anymore.
@@l.j.i they are almost exactly the same, except the BMX has a little better sole, and a guard for tailwhips, like an Ollie pad, on the inside. Other than that they will sk8

Dope . Agreed with everything except I think the slip on pro deserves a legendary spot for honesty being the only slip on in the game that is legit considered a really good skate shoe imo.

The Emerica Wino G6 slip on is just a bit better, more ankle support/protection, and a rubber ollie patch for durability.
@@quarter_cab rubber Ollie patches look terrible imo. Just an eye sore. And emericas are infamously made with cheap glues and stitching, last pair I skated was the spanky cupsole slip ons and they fell apart within 2 weeks. Vans slips will last me a good solid 2 months.
i second the wino g6 got some for 20$ orange color way. I scoop deals like this ASAP for pure shoes ill keep in the trunk to skate. G6 really keeps your foot from sliding and you can really pop tricks i tried the slip on pros but they didnt pass the try on/wear test for mee to tight around the toe area and my heel would shift. its all personal preference i cant even wear the CHER slip ons bc the insoles are soo big my feet are too fat to wear the shoe and my achillies snags on the collar if i take the insoles out. And i own those

The Berle's are the best, hands down. The other two are too bulky and the outsole is way too gurthy for my taste

i liked my berles but the insole started to wrinkle and its impossible to fix since its sewn in

The Kyle Walker Pro 2 aren't.... amazing. I'd also say the first ones _are_ actually better, also in terms of durability actually. They're less the exact same shoe as the Pro 2 as you'd think or expect. Do consider me slightly skeptical about Vans skate shoes in general though, they're a bit too thin for my preference. But I do think in terms of flick and board feel the Kyle Walker Pro 2 is definitely 'solid'. Maybe some people will be fine with how it'll likely only lasts like 3 to 4 weeks of skating, but that's kind of my issue with Vans too. Not durable enough for my wallet lol.
I watched the entire video. I really like the Vans Churchill and Vans Graph shoes the best. They are from the late '90's to early 2000's. In my opinion, they were the BEST shoes Vans has ever made!

I forgot those, the gilberts are a good solid and tnt’s are NO GOOD, they blew out at the seams so fast
I haven't tried many vans, but I do love the half cabs and have skated those. I got a pair of Lizzie's since they're sold as Unisex and I got them for a good price, and at first I didn't like them, but after making the toecap a little bigger by stuffing tuna cans in the front of the shoe for a couple days, and wearing them and breaking them in, and figuring out a way to make so I can put them on easier, I'm starting to really think they're a decent shoe.
Is there a difference between Vans Rowan Shoes and Vans Rowan Pros? I can't find many Rowan pros online, and they both look the same so I'm kinda stuck

Vans was bought by vanity fair in 2004 we lost the company and our skatepark in here in Michigan novi, they never made a new shoe and keep trying to sell you the old crappy ones for more money same as a shitty chuck Taylor for 80$ it's fashion footware now not skate shoes.

Haven't tried the Rowan's but I hear good things. Riding with Vans Grosso Mid's and they have been great so far.

Great list man. I agree that KW Pro 2 look like grandpa's slippers, but in the nice colour way, they can look sick. I have all black with a white stripe. I love them and have had 3 pairs. I also put Chima Pro 2, Rowan Pro and Sk8 hi Pro at Legendary status. No question! I like how Half Cabs look, but I find them too heavy and front part of the sole always feels too thick under my foot.

Kyle 2 is legendary. It has a thinner insole than the first one but still plenty of impact support. I love the strap because I’m a lace breaker. Also there is none of that thick padding in the tongue so the shoe is slimmer but they kept padding in the collar to protect your ankles from heelflips. Currently my favorite shoe.
Does it last long
@@zekecampos2576 decently long. I skated them until I wore through the soles, just keeping shoe goo on my flick/Ollie spots on the upper. The Berle Pro lasts longer but it’s less comfortable (stitched in insole that’s super thin) and the grip on the sole is a weird pattern that collects every pebble you step on. KW2 still my favorite shoe

Half Cabs are definitely the comfiest for me too, basically any of the low models give me blisters until I've kneaded the stiffness out of them, but these feel perfect from day 1.
Maybe my favorite look too, and one of the few sneakers from any brand I'll take when I'm on my feet for a long time.
I haven’t skated them yet, but my Grosso mids feel slightly narrower than my new pair of Rowan’s. My old Rowan’s broke in nicely so I’m hoping the mids will too. Keep in mind I have US 13 wide feet so...

I’m cooking my half cabs on microwave twice for 30 sec per. before I break em in.. so it crumbling the plastic unit on the heels and making it flexible as a used pair.. best method ever. YOU SHOULD TRY THIS
I skated the vans AVE pro blanc for over 2monts now every day and I am really taking care of them. Idk if I'm the only one that uses hot glue to make it last longer. But I still do not have a hole in them yet and I think that if I fix it every time with hot glue that it will lats forever.
I almost never heelflip but if you heelflip a lot they will rip rlly fast

@@ianturnbow7011 the insole was too hard and didn’t feel good at all. The shoes didn’t fit my feet very well, I always felt they were slipping off from the heel. Overall the shoe felt very uncomfortable to skate imo and flat. The only positive is that it had a very good flick.
@@christiansanchez146 huh, my experience was quite the opposite. I had to go half a size up compared to every other Vans shoe I’ve ever worn from the Pro/Skate Classics line. As for the insole, just swapping them for PopCush or original UltraCush should have solved the problem. As much as heel slip, I’m not sure. Vans’ sizing is usually consistent, but it wasn’t for either of the two Chima 2s I’ve owned.

Berles are too good, bought a second pair and havent skated in them since 2019, btw Im skating nyjahs rn, great board feeling and awesome protection but they arent durable

The AVE pro are legit decent for onewheel riders
at the top of vans mountain sits the vans cardiel sk8-mid pro leather. I always thought they were weird, never even knew they were cardiel's. Saw some on sale blowing time on a family trip insane how comfortable they were, and even more insane how they skated. Best bs360s and nollie half cabs and cabs i ever had with them, havent skated sk8-mid pros since. I just might have to try the grosso black sk8-mids. I havent even skated true half-cabs in my life, or full-cabs. so i really am missing out. I got some suede chukkas at a 2nd hand shop way back for 10$ they skate pretty good too but i dont want to blast through them. They even fit better than the AWS and bart simpson chukka pros. I even skated the versa back in the day which reminded me of the emerica transist templetons. Those were nice before time set into the soles/rubber but they were very durable before the soles got blown out. The templetons pinched my feet/toe joints too narrow so i traded them to a friend.
