Fun fact! The “extreme capture the flag” aka yağlı direk is a turkish sport. The pole theyre climbing on is covered in oil, hence why its called yağlı direk meaning oiled pole
My god, I used to love these offbeat sporting events when I was a kid in the 80's. If you were lucky, you'd catch these on a random lazy Sunday afternoon. To me they were funny and way more exciting and interesting than your regular sports.
