Honestly, having at least one hero tree that is mostly or even entirely passive is perfect decission making from Blizzard. The more active/involved versions are mostly, if not only enjoyed by hardcore casuals and actual hardcore players. I personally know a ton of ppl that play WoWs that hate having extra buttons upon extra buttons and having to shuffle all the attention those buttons need to the point where they get weaker while running the "strongest" build just because of too many things to do. Dissing a passive tree as "boring" just because you don´t enjoy not having "extra shit" is really not fair to quite a large part of the playerbase. Everyone should have at least one hero tree to enjoy and if passive simplcity is all you want, then those trees should be there for those ppl to enjoy.
I agree, I already have 4x action bars completely full on most of my healers, don't need any more active skills. What I do want is new and impactful interactions between existing skills that shake up the meta and create new capabilities, rotations, playstyles and builds, or that empower previously weak skills or talents. If a Hero tree can accomplish that, then I have no complaint if it doesn't include any new active skills.
True. For me the Hero Talent Trees are - or should be - more of a class fantasy thing, like the Mountain Thane Warrior or the Celestial Monk. Delving deeper into different subclasses by some cool visuals, spell altering effects and passives.
exactly, i am still looking on which healer i should main.. i switched to augmentation when it became available but there is still an itch to go back, i just hate the specs with so many buttons that do almost the same thing, like having a Heal and a Flash Heal.. i know the differences, i just with there was a simple class with one cast heal, one over time heal and then utilities, is there a healer like that? i tried disco but didnt really like the dps part of it, same goes for holy pala but that sucks even more cuz of the melee range, druid was propably the closest but you are always clicking something and i dont like stance switching, holy priest is just bloat of spells, tried preservation evoker for a long while but it is also very minmaxing everything, dont remember monk that much and i am currently trying shaman

Saying totemic, which makes my healing rain an instant totem that buffs my other heals, almost doubles my downpour, and makes a ton of my totems instantly cast free full power chain heals... Is underwhelming.... Is certainly a take.
Yeah I think everyone is pretty stoked on the fact alone that they don't have to worry about target casting healing rain. Also Farseer gives another charge of Riptide not Lava Burst, and it honestly looks like it'll make for a fun kinda rampy raid healer.
Tanks have been crying up a storm, but I've been trying to explain to them that this is not so much a tank nerf as it is a sort of group dynamic rebalancing. I'm glad that you see it the same way. I can't wait to go back to proper healing with time to process what is going on. I see some people already dooming and glooming, but I think these changes are good for the overall health of the game. People who roll healers want to play a healer, complete with moment-by-moment triage, not a lesser dps or mechanics bot.
What you said is so true. That's why I left FFXIV healing. It's not that you're not a healer but because of how efficient their healing it is making you feel less like a healer. Combine that with a 1 button rotation + a dot being 80-90% of your GCD casts and it just feels awful to heal.
And neither do tanks. Tanks don't typically just want to be a DPS "but worse", though tanks also have the danger of "A good tank survived this pull, a bad tank is dead and is now either getting flamed or flaming the healer"

Personally I started wow back in TBC because I really loved the look of the Draenei shaman and only further loved them because of the totems. Totemic is my shamanic dream come true I only wish we still had a skill to plonk four totems around us
i wish resto shaman would get a damn mastery rework or just improvement,its kinda weird how its the only healer that gets punished if the raid plays better and the better geared the other healers are,the worse the shaman performs
If u want to see how disc priest is played properly I would suggest Moadmoad or mythic raid progression of guilds like Echo and Liquid if the spec is part of healer comp. I would avoid anything else lol.
Blizzard still hasn't fixed the Wild Growth "bug" from Grove Guardians, it's the same spell seemingly, less powerful but has different spell ID so you can't proc Swiftmend on that even if you see the same icon of your Wild Growth on a target, and in cat form, that would've been an instant cast Swiftmend wouldn't even take out of your form to cast. I reported the bug the but it's not fixed. It's either intended or an programming oversight.
i'm a healer for 8 years and i say it every single expansion, that i want more of a balance the lifes game instead of Instant 10%,100%,10%100%. If they nail it, im super happy
been playing resto shaman since mop,i simply do not understand why our mastery has not been improved,resto shaman is the only healer who is punished when your group plays better or gets better gear
I think you heavily overlooked Preservation, more noticably, Flameshaper. It is based on HoTs sure, but it makes you have a group wide almost 0 to 100% heal every 20seconds, not to mention that you have probably the strongest Tank external at your disposal in Lifecinders. Sure, the range gameplay and combo's are not for everyone, but output wise, Preservation is about the strongest healer there is
While I main a hunter for the purpose of experiencing the game, honestly this time around I am looking forward to healing. I may even try Pally heals finally (I've never felt comfortable with it).
I actually liked the change. I both healed and tanked Cata Heroics before the famous "Wow, dungeons are hard" Ghostcrawler post. I personally really enjoyed it, but I severely doubt it will be as slow as Cata was until very high keys.
@@AtheismF7W Disc Priest healing in Cata was great. Enjoyed the harder "have to use your brain" dungeons. Though to be honest/fair, the early-game doing those dungeons were rough, the gear you had at that time was not up to the dungeon's difficulty level.
Yeah, this is the 2nd or 3rd time they've attempted this philosophy. It's always ends up "reverted" by the 2nd raid tier encounter design just because of gear scaling alone.
@@perkulant4629 ah sure, but its all masking the background of whats going on here. in the context of what totemic brings to the shaman kit, its a very very smart edition, that really transforms in alot of ways ur playstyle and synergies very neetly into the chain heal build. i would take a venture, basing on the photage of the guy whos playing in the background (who objectivley has no clue of what his doing on most of the healers, and is not maining a healer), the content of what he said regarding alot of healers, that this guy isnt versed on how shaman works and what totemic brings. its not a funtion of fun being subjective, its a function of belluar not fully understanding the kit with and without totemic. option b, he just dosent like to play shamans.

Thinking I'm going to Main Resto Sham and offspec Ele. I love the core gameplay of resto shaman, and Totemic to me actually sounds super fun. I'll give both a try though for sure.
I've played on and off since vanilla. I played vanilla, tbc, wotlk, beginning of cata, beginning of mop, missed legion wod, played a bit of SL, half of DF. Back in the day i mained resto druid throughout vanilla tbc and wotlk, did light raiding and heroics mostly. The focus was on mana management, and basically constant healing management across the group and MT. I wanted to heal in DF again but was put off so much by a measure of a the different healing specs being how much damage they output - like wtf i would roll a dps spec if I wanted to be dpsing! It just seemed so counter-intuitive to me. Coupled with tanks having insane survivability it almost felt like the healing class was irrelevant. This was a huge turn off to me and i ended up not playing healer at all. I look forward to healers actually becoming healers again; if a healer has so much down time inbetween heals that it needs to DPS and this becomes a key measure of the spec, then something is broken imo.
This sounds like Cataclysm all over again: Cata dungeons were more difficult than WotLK dungeons, and health pools were made larger in Cata than they were in WotLK for approximately the same reasons. Cata was my favorite expansion in terms of gameplay :)
I'm down for it! Dungeons that you can run through half brain dead are nice at times, but I like ones where I actually have to pay attention to what's happening
@@ThatOneGuy15270 One thing I loved in Cata was using CC as part of our pulling strategies. Heck, I even loved interrupting enemies as a healer---glad that option is back on the table these days! (Post-Legion, Holy lost Rebuke, and didn't get it back until Dragonflight!)
Shaman totems should go down and then summon a spirit who does the effect of the totem. Stone bulwark, earth element blows itself up. Magma totem: lava elemental, etc etc
Downpour was better when you had the option to cast it where you wanted, now it's designed for the top % percent of players who know when to stand in Healing Rain, so it's generally worse for everyone else and it's just a button shortcut for them. Tested it personally.
with tranq getting a big upfront part resto druid has a decent chance of showing up in raids now, resto has always shone with ridiculous throughput but struggled with dangerous moments because of a lack of emergency heals, the way they shift healing in addition to giving them a buff in that are makes me think that resto will be creeping up on some of these raid slots :D
Been playing Resto Druid since WOTLK and this is the weakest I’ve felt for healing throughput. I’m not talking fluid form or quality of life changes like no longer needing boomy form. I use to be the top healer in raids but now I feel like I’m struggling to keep up. Mythic plus feels bad too. I hope the anniversary patch helps.
I loved healing and dragonflight. I healed on mist, Weaver, druid, and shaman and had a blast with all of them. To me healing weren't broke. Don't fix it. Health pools were easy to maintain when people didn't stand in the fire. Or razageth;ss halitosis.😢
I used to work as an environmental activist many many years ago when I was teenager and into my early 20s. We had a similar principal called KISS 💋. Keep it short and simple. I feel like that velocity would work well for a lot of UA-cam videos.
I tried levelling a healer recently but dropped it the second I was kicked from a dungeon (not hc or mythic) for not doing enough dps. I play for fun, was having fun healing. Not anymore
does he ever say anything slightly negative or critical? i got no information from this besides "everything is good and the healing design direction is good". i came out still not knowing if DPSing is still required or which class is best for what playstyle of healing.
i mean, from what i hear from others, holy pally, resto shaman, and monk are looking pretty good and strong, druids numbers are good, but the playstyle is terrible and not fun, and holy priest is in a good spot, but lack utility, disc priest idk since the new buffs, but rough in dungeons, good in raids but still lack utility, and evoker looks to be pretty solid. as for the playstyles i mean they are all different, and it depends on different builds, like monk highly depends what builds you run, and holypriest changes from dungeon to raid, hope that helps
my guy, go watch yumi or madskillz if u want quality healer content. but to answer ur questionsl, dps is not required. which class is best - no one knows and u shoudlnt care about it. which healer u find mechanically intresting and fun to play with? now thats the question.
As a healer I've never enjoyed being pigeon holed into dpsing. As long as some sort of pure healing form exists I'm happy. If I wanted to dps heal I would wake up the monk, or hope that shadow healing would be a thing. Or a lifestealing warlock healer.
I hear you. As a tank I don’t press my self healing abilities, that’s my healers job. Why should I have to tank the dungeon and heal myself?! Same with when I dps, idk why blizzard give me all this utility and self healing when I’m here to just do damage. Silly blizzard😄
@@onkek From a 20 year verteran of WoW... Tanks are not there to dps. Tanks are there to take damage and protect the group from taking damage. Therefore.... you should heal yourself when the opportunity allows to not overload your healer. If you are playing group content, you are part of a team. Believe it or not, the game is a lot more challenging and a lot more fun when you realise that.
It makes me sad that everyone is happy about Glimmer being gone. Glimmer healing/DPSing in Legion was one of the most enjoyable times healing I have ever had in this game. It was unique and flexible. And then they nerfed it into the ground so much that everyone hated it. Pally healing was always so boring, it was a breath of fresh air. I've never been able to enjoy pally healing since, and celebrating it being removed feels like a mistake to me. Especially when we are talking about how healers are expected to deal damage these days. It worked so well with that.
Holy pala here since tbc. I agree. Glimmer was one of the best things to happen to holy pala but it has been such a downgraded version that it started to feel like nothing. To this day I stand by the idea that BFA holy pala without Azerite shit( but having the power of triple glimmer from azerite armor as talents) would be the best iteration of holy pala.
The no ping pong health bar thing is good but when you put in things that makes the tank got from 100 to 20% and at the same time tell the healer you cant just poof em back to healthy again your gunna have problems
Idk about mistweaver, feels like I have to play monk now as it played back in draenor plus additional fist weaving. I thought font was iconic and what the spec was missing before 🙁 I'll be a totemic shaman and I am excited for the new totem 😊
As a monk mw main for a couple of expansions, its sad to see blizz pushing fistweaving so much. All other classes have a one button aoe spell. Mw doesnt anymore since they removed essence font. If you want to aoe heal now well spam renewing mist and then vivfy and that will still not heal as many as a chain heal. Or go the meme way and spinning crane kick.
Last time I heard Bliz say this kinda think was Crapaclysm an that made me never run a healer again. Lots I like in TWW but this just gives me flashbacks
Mistweaver Monk is the Loser here. In Dragonflight blizzard finally fixed the mana issue on the caster monk. Essence font was essential for „on the move“ mechanics/triage in m+ and raid and now it is just gone. On druid at the other hand i was hyped for the fluid shapeshift talent for the boomkin Switch. Only to find out blizzard got rid of the owlweaving aswell.
I quit playing Resto Druid because of all the changes to it. They are trying to make it more of reactionary playstyle instead of the proactive healer it has always been. Knowing damage patterns and using proper ramps was always the satisfaction of resto druid. Trees and upfront heals is so contrary to resto druid healing. I'm trying out other healers now.
Fistweave/Mistweave divide has been gone for a long time. The only reason people used essence font was to help proc gust. If anything MW is in a better spot than it has ever been in. This is coming from someone in a mythic team. Your mileage may vary if you are playing easier content.
@@DannyMartini Yea we used EF to proc more gusts because gusts is our mastery and is what the spec is supposed to be designed around. War within is gutting the raid spec as fist weaving against a single boss does not provide much damage to convert to healing. I still don't understand why ancient teachings is a talent and not just a base skill, I mean disc priest don't have to go 3/4 into the tree to get atonement. They need to make two separate specs rather than smash two specs into crap.
Fine, I will be back on this expac... But only because I hated to heal people who go from 100% hp to 40% then 10%. Healing in wow have been a mental charge dps players will never understand. All we asked was a rework of the healing or having brained dps...
Are these changes already in place with the pre-patch? Because if they are nothing has changed. Doing M+ is still ping pongy, tanks are still the most indestructible as they've ever been, and I can still do dps as a resto shaman

I saw it was scheduled and was all excited! Only to be smacked down when i realized that evening that i never got a notification it started and it was canceled :[ wish they'd send a community post out when that happens.
Clearly, none of you remember dungeons when Cata launched. By nerfing class defensives and increasing punishing mechanics, dungeons are going to be miserable, probably worse than Cata, until either Blizz patch or people overgear them. So, yet again, Blizzard have answered forum QQ by destroying "FUN" for the sake of "Balance on Paper". I hope you lot are happy with what you asked for.

You can tell this guy doesn't play the damn game. Resto Druid is in a awful spot right now, everything is passive and nothing fundamentally changed. The spec was gutted where some of your core spells from before are now locked behind choosing between a talent you can't do without or throwing that spell away (I'm looking at you Flourish and Photosyntesis).
I don't think he has played it more than a couple hours a week in over a year. His team plays the game or researches the game and he just reads his script
Timestamps would be nice. Having to manually scroll back/forth in the video to find the parts I'm interested in is not a user-friendly QoL feature of watching your videos. I get it, you want to max your profit earnings, but UA-cam isn't the place for that. Every content creator is expected to use timestamps now, and not make the viewers "work for it" to find the parts of the video they would be interested in (why would I watch info about class/specs that I don't ever want to play?).
Did y'all change editors or something? The editing on this channel recently has been weird. Audio has been inconsistent, visuals don't match sometimes, there have been multiple instances of really bad cuts or outright errors. It's not just the bad audio in this video either, it has been a consistent thing for what feels like a month or two now.

@@Adam_Walk with ancestral being mostly passive and the new talent tree you can "prune" resto shaman down quite a bit while still being effective.

It just seemed so counter-intuitive to me. Coupled with tanks having insane survivability it almost felt like the healing class was irrelevant. This was a huge turn off to me and i ended up not playing healer at all.
I look forward to healers actually becoming healers again; if a healer has so much down time inbetween heals that it needs to DPS and this becomes a key measure of the spec, then something is broken imo.
This sounds like Cataclysm all over again: Cata dungeons were more difficult than WotLK dungeons, and health pools were made larger in Cata than they were in WotLK for approximately the same reasons.
Cata was my favorite expansion in terms of gameplay :)
I'm down for it! Dungeons that you can run through half brain dead are nice at times, but I like ones where I actually have to pay attention to what's happening
@@ThatOneGuy15270 One thing I loved in Cata was using CC as part of our pulling strategies. Heck, I even loved interrupting enemies as a healer---glad that option is back on the table these days! (Post-Legion, Holy lost Rebuke, and didn't get it back until Dragonflight!)
Same here, tried it with my wife and her boyfriends, it was a blast.
Shaman totems should go down and then summon a spirit who does the effect of the totem. Stone bulwark, earth element blows itself up. Magma totem: lava elemental, etc etc
Would love the zergfest through dungeons to stop until you are top geared. I preferred that style, personally.

Downpour was better when you had the option to cast it where you wanted, now it's designed for the top % percent of players who know when to stand in Healing Rain, so it's generally worse for everyone else and it's just a button shortcut for them. Tested it personally.

Well. They will fuck it up again. They always try to make "tanks needing healers, and healers that can heal not spike and DPS" And they always fail.
with tranq getting a big upfront part resto druid has a decent chance of showing up in raids now, resto has always shone with ridiculous throughput but struggled with dangerous moments because of a lack of emergency heals, the way they shift healing in addition to giving them a buff in that are makes me think that resto will be creeping up on some of these raid slots :D

Been playing Resto Druid since WOTLK and this is the weakest I’ve felt for healing throughput. I’m not talking fluid form or quality of life changes like no longer needing boomy form. I use to be the top healer in raids but now I feel like I’m struggling to keep up. Mythic plus feels bad too. I hope the anniversary patch helps.
I loved healing and dragonflight. I healed on mist, Weaver, druid, and shaman and had a blast with all of them. To me healing weren't broke. Don't fix it. Health pools were easy to maintain when people didn't stand in the fire. Or razageth;ss halitosis.😢
I used to work as an environmental activist many many years ago when I was teenager and into my early 20s. We had a similar principal called KISS 💋. Keep it short and simple. I feel like that velocity would work well for a lot of UA-cam videos.
I tried levelling a healer recently but dropped it the second I was kicked from a dungeon (not hc or mythic) for not doing enough dps. I play for fun, was having fun healing. Not anymore

i mean, from what i hear from others, holy pally, resto shaman, and monk are looking pretty good and strong, druids numbers are good, but the playstyle is terrible and not fun, and holy priest is in a good spot, but lack utility, disc priest idk since the new buffs, but rough in dungeons, good in raids but still lack utility, and evoker looks to be pretty solid. as for the playstyles i mean they are all different, and it depends on different builds, like monk highly depends what builds you run, and holypriest changes from dungeon to raid, hope that helps
dpsing is never required unless you are pushing high end keys

As a healer I've never enjoyed being pigeon holed into dpsing. As long as some sort of pure healing form exists I'm happy. If I wanted to dps heal I would wake up the monk, or hope that shadow healing would be a thing. Or a lifestealing warlock healer.

I hear you. As a tank I don’t press my self healing abilities, that’s my healers job. Why should I have to tank the dungeon and heal myself?! Same with when I dps, idk why blizzard give me all this utility and self healing when I’m here to just do damage. Silly blizzard😄

@@onkek From a 20 year verteran of WoW... Tanks are not there to dps. Tanks are there to take damage and protect the group from taking damage. Therefore.... you should heal yourself when the opportunity allows to not overload your healer. If you are playing group content, you are part of a team. Believe it or not, the game is a lot more challenging and a lot more fun when you realise that.

It makes me sad that everyone is happy about Glimmer being gone. Glimmer healing/DPSing in Legion was one of the most enjoyable times healing I have ever had in this game. It was unique and flexible. And then they nerfed it into the ground so much that everyone hated it.
Pally healing was always so boring, it was a breath of fresh air. I've never been able to enjoy pally healing since, and celebrating it being removed feels like a mistake to me. Especially when we are talking about how healers are expected to deal damage these days. It worked so well with that.

Holy pala here since tbc. I agree. Glimmer was one of the best things to happen to holy pala but it has been such a downgraded version that it started to feel like nothing. To this day I stand by the idea that BFA holy pala without Azerite shit( but having the power of triple glimmer from azerite armor as talents) would be the best iteration of holy pala.
Excellent overall changes. Classic healing was so much more interesting.
The no ping pong health bar thing is good but when you put in things that makes the tank got from 100 to 20% and at the same time tell the healer you cant just poof em back to healthy again your gunna have problems
Idk about mistweaver, feels like I have to play monk now as it played back in draenor plus additional fist weaving. I thought font was iconic and what the spec was missing before 🙁 I'll be a totemic shaman and I am excited for the new totem 😊

Biggest slap into the face to holy paladin is removing holy infusion one week before release without any announcement or testing.
Paladin is the way to go this xpac. Anything Light or void/shadow related will definitely benefit.
Time stamps would be helpful. I’d watch the full video anyway. But sometimes i like to go back for reference later. Time stamps help a lot.
As a monk mw main for a couple of expansions, its sad to see blizz pushing fistweaving so much. All other classes have a one button aoe spell. Mw doesnt anymore since they removed essence font. If you want to aoe heal now well spam renewing mist and then vivfy and that will still not heal as many as a chain heal. Or go the meme way and spinning crane kick.

Mistweaver Monk is the Loser here. In Dragonflight blizzard finally fixed the mana issue on the caster monk. Essence font was essential for „on the move“ mechanics/triage in m+ and raid and now it is just gone.
On druid at the other hand i was hyped for the fluid shapeshift talent for the boomkin Switch. Only to find out blizzard got rid of the owlweaving aswell.

I quit playing Resto Druid because of all the changes to it. They are trying to make it more of reactionary playstyle instead of the proactive healer it has always been. Knowing damage patterns and using proper ramps was always the satisfaction of resto druid. Trees and upfront heals is so contrary to resto druid healing. I'm trying out other healers now.

I may be one of the few that used essence font in a non-fistweaving build and I miss it so much already.
Completely agree! I personally don’t enjoy fistweaving and now my ranged MW feels like it’s missing something.
I’m the opposite - I was so glad to see essence font removed and fistweaving made legitimate.
Fistweave/Mistweave divide has been gone for a long time. The only reason people used essence font was to help proc gust. If anything MW is in a better spot than it has ever been in. This is coming from someone in a mythic team. Your mileage may vary if you are playing easier content.
I loved essence font healing build, it felt so much better to me. Not a fan of fistweaving.
@@DannyMartini Yea we used EF to proc more gusts because gusts is our mastery and is what the spec is supposed to be designed around. War within is gutting the raid spec as fist weaving against a single boss does not provide much damage to convert to healing. I still don't understand why ancient teachings is a talent and not just a base skill, I mean disc priest don't have to go 3/4 into the tree to get atonement. They need to make two separate specs rather than smash two specs into crap.

Are these changes already in place with the pre-patch? Because if they are nothing has changed. Doing M+ is still ping pongy, tanks are still the most indestructible as they've ever been, and I can still do dps as a resto shaman
Most of them are in since last week‘s prepatch, the rest is coming this week. Bear in mind this is about level 80 gameplay including hero talents

By nerfing class defensives and increasing punishing mechanics, dungeons are going to be miserable, probably worse than Cata, until either Blizz patch or people overgear them.

You can tell this guy doesn't play the damn game. Resto Druid is in a awful spot right now, everything is passive and nothing fundamentally changed. The spec was gutted where some of your core spells from before are now locked behind choosing between a talent you can't do without or throwing that spell away (I'm looking at you Flourish and Photosyntesis).

Timestamps would be nice. Having to manually scroll back/forth in the video to find the parts I'm interested in is not a user-friendly QoL feature of watching your videos.
I get it, you want to max your profit earnings, but UA-cam isn't the place for that.

Did y'all change editors or something? The editing on this channel recently has been weird. Audio has been inconsistent, visuals don't match sometimes, there have been multiple instances of really bad cuts or outright errors. It's not just the bad audio in this video either, it has been a consistent thing for what feels like a month or two now.
