🔴 NOT LEGAL ADVICE
Intro & Outro Music: DOLYJJVS2W8MGNFM - Розваги
The Defense should be sanctioned and made to pay this man's legal fees. Make an example out of them. Every verdict now we have the Defense claiming Jury misconduct of some kind, when they lose.
Exactly. Especially when the defense is blatantly lying.
Not just his legal fees but also for inconvenience. They should also force the pay out for Maya.
I do not think Maya is interested in settling. She wanted to prove her abuse and also that JHAC was responsible for her mothers abuse.
Defense knew what juror 1 had for lunch 20 years ago but did not know he was blind
My heart hurts that juror #1 integrity was questioned by these stupid defense attorneys. I am so sorry Mr Juror. We were and are in your corner . Please judge reimburse this man’s attorneys fees. PLEASE!!!
🤮
Having to pay for my own attorney after being paid peanuts to sit for weeks on a jury is a good reason to avoid jury duty. Another reason is the jurors seem to be the only members of the court who are held to higher standard than the lying lawyers and lying witnesses. If I heard it once, I've heard it a million times.... perjury is rarely prosecuted!!!
Hundred percent. No good civic duty deed goes unpunished.
I couldn’t agree more. One thing I’ve learnt from watching all these cases is that lawyers and witnesses can lie over and over again without repercussions
Very good point! He is definitely being held to a higher standard. Jhach has proved with the IJ that they don't feel like they have to be honest or listen to court orders. But says they know this juror will lie. 🤦🏻♀️
Retired nurse here. A friend of my Mom was in the hospital I worked at. I went in to say hi to him. My Mom found out about it two weeks later. She was mad at me that I didn’t tell her. I told her that I couldn’t. Patient confidently was my oath and I took it seriously.
Yes you did what you were supposed to do!!!
Defence should have to cover his attorney fees. Bullshit that jurors can be treated this way. Such a witch hunt.
If my spouse was on a jury I’d be curious to go to the courthouse! 🤣
Not only should the defense pay for his legal fees, he should be compensated for the time or be sanctioned.
Agreed! 💯 It’s so wrong.
Definitely rare
29:40 I would love to be on the same page, but I’m an anxious person to the point where any time my boss asks me to come to their office I think I’m getting fired. Did I forget to save a file? I must be getting fired. Was I supposed to ignore the department mail? I picked it up, so I must be getting fired. I once convinced myself I was getting fired because I didn’t come business formal to a meeting with corporate, only business casual. Was anyone from corporate in business formal, no, and our dress code that day was like actual casual, but that doesn’t matter when you have an anxious mind.
As a former member of law enforcement, juror number one has had to keep information/evidence confidential. I’m sure he’s quite accustomed to keeping things in his life separate and apart.
Judge Carroll's denial of defenses motion was HILARIOUS! Judge Carroll has quite a sense of humor!
As a nurse, wife and mother, there's absolutely no way I would discuss anything. I practice it daily. I'm terrified of losing everything I've worked so hard to obtain.
Sadly, now a days MSM and podcasters pay to get interviews from Jurors.
Be warned, don’t talk about the case to anyone for at least a year.
Not worth it!
Cracks me up that Juror Number 1 has a Tattoo on his arm of a hippo with the date of the marriage to his wife.🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰Love love this guy.
I think k it’s horrible to hear juror had to get a lawyer for this all because of defenses BS filings! Now he’s paid out money for doing his duty??? Defense attorney’s should have to cover that!! 😤 I see any of those guys in court when I’m summoned, I’m asking to be excused because I’m totally biased….AGAINST them!
I agree. That is what I immediately thought of. Speaking for myself, to hire an attorney would really be a financial insult to my household budget. So my choice would be to fly blind with no counsel or put the attorney fee on a credit card. It just seems really unfair when he did nothing wrong.
Greg tried to bring it up on the sanctions but the judge didn't want to hear it today,Greg is asking for Paul's legal fees.
@@solesister9873I believe they will have to cover the cost. Perhaps Peter will let us know what the outcome will be for the cost of the atty.
I agree. It was also the smart thing to do at this point. And the defense attorneys should have to pay for the juror’s attorney.
I hope it was probono, there were a lot lawyers offering services
This is what happens when Lawyers depends on Reddit for its evidence...
Paul did a great job
Like you're an expert. The lawyers have seen the medical evidence. You don't understand it. You're relying on your emotions.
in high profile cases it is pretty easy to figure out what case your spouse is on. My dad was on a jury regarding a police embezzlement ring. It was covered on the news and my dad would get up and leave the room or change the channel if something came on the TV regarding it and he couldn't watch the news for weeks. (It was a long time ago when there were only 3 stations and not a lot of news coverage). My mom was able to figure out what trial he was on. I would think that the moment he told her that the trial was expected to take 2 months (which would not be a prohibited notification to a spouse and the impact on their life) that she would have known it was the Maya trial.
I love Judge Carroll island hair. It fits his personality. The Judge part fits his intelligence.
When you look up confidence in the dictionary, you see a picture of Juror number 1 💯💯💯💯💪🏻 will forever live on as Juror #1
I agree with you, I loved how he dressed, he looked like a rock star, so confident ❤
Still can't believe how different he was from what I pictured in my head
Love how you said he has confidence with his outfit. I think that too!! He was very relaxed and came across very honest!! Thanks LYK
Wow. I like juror #1. I imagine the defense see him as smart man and liked him. And he show his intelligence.
The defense plays DIRTY!
I am glad juror #1 is not guilty of jury misconduct. Happy New Year to every LYK fans!🎉
I'm glad you've never been called for jury duty.
BTW, in almost 48 years I've never been called for jury duty. I guess I wished for it enough after watching your channel. I finally got my letter. I'm really excited.
Good luck. In 55 years I’ve served on 9 juries, & a grand jury coming out of covid 19 lock down. I’ve since had jury duty 2 more times, the last on December 8, 2023 & thankfully they didn’t need a jury and went in front of the judge. For some reason I get called about every 2 years. My husband has been called 1/2 the times in the 34 years we’ve been married & has never had to sit on 1 jury or grand jury. Most of the time it settles before you actually have the jury together. I’ve just been lucky & have been chosen more than 1/2 the times as a juror, including the foreman 3x. I know people my age that have never even been called 1x or received 1 letter to serve.
Yay! So exciting! People think I’m weird for getting happy when I get Jury Duty
How exciting! Good luck 😊
@@dudemorris7769I'm 53 and have never been called. Always wanted to so badly. 😕
@@dudemorris7769ya you gotta wonder how they pick jurors
I think it's about time that somebody takes the shovels away from the defense. I think they dug themselves a good hole
I hope the people of his country open a go fund to pay for his lawer hes a good honest man served his country well thank u ser for doing justice for maya godbless u 🙏
I agree!!! I would donate to that for sure!! I am so proud of “Juror #1”! He is a good example of what a pivotal role our jury system plays in our legal system! I love that he chose to appear in person and face the defense head on, they got a lot more than they bargained for when they decided to question his honor!
Juror #1 looks like a guy I’d like to have a beer with! 😂😂🍻
After watching Judge Carroll for weeks during the trial, I saw nothing but a fair judge. I was very impressed by him. He’s a breath of fresh air imo. What a shame the defense is doing this to juror #1. Just by the way juror #1 is dressed, the way he carries himself and his certainty in answering questions, it seems to me he’s taking this whole thing very well.
I like the attire porcupine hairdoo with the quills on the side and in the back. Per Megan Fox Investigates (from Dr. Joe and Greg Anderson) Juror 1 had the choice to appear behind a screen. He declined that because he felt he had been wronged and wanted to appear in person. LOL! He decided to stay at the end. The defense table looked whooped and for once were somewhat quiet. He is standing up for himself and possibly clowning the defense. Note- the guys that signed the motion are not in court- they are zooming in. One still of Hunter is priceless.
I understand why Judge C did what he did, I don't like it, but i do understand it. That being said, the way JHACH has behaved is absolutely disgusting. I live in Florida, and if this is how attorneys are allowed to treat jurors, I hope i never get called to serve again. If i ever was, I think I would ask to be excused. To juror 1, your family and Jules, I'm so sorry this happened to you.
The family is disgusting. That mother was disgusting. The kid is better off without her.
I would have LOVED to serve on a JURY with” Juror NUMBER ONE”🥰
Diabetic retinopathy - absolutely a completely acceptable and medically accepted diabetes complication.
Since it was a big case in Florida, maybe his wife wanted to discuss it with her husband. If juror #1 said that he could not, she understood that he had jury duty in this case.
Watched on replay and so much enjoyed your take, Peter. Such good content. Who’d have thought 20 years ago so many of us would pretty much only be watching independent content creators vs. Hollywood garbage? It’s a great new world! 😊
Thanks again Peter. You are by far my favourite lawyer to watch on you tube. You are extremely unbiased and anyone that says otherwise is clearly not watching your videos. ❤❤❤❤ Love from Alberta Canada!
I love that you’re always keeping it real. I too think the juror’s attire screams confidence!
Best chat ever. Thank you Peter, for all you do. And thanks to John, we appreciate you.
If I was the judge the sanctions I would give them are standing in a public bus stop holding hippo placards and apologize
😂😂😂 awesome. This made me laugh 🤭
This is a perfect sanction 😂😂😂😂
I just want to say something positive and says that I love juror #1 outfit, it says to me: happy❤
Thanks for using @RecoveryAddict’s court stream, Peter! Great recap!
I am not a fan of that channel🤷
Agree Peter… but Juror #1 had to PAY an attorney…. I think JHACH should provide those fees to him
I hope that is part of the sanctions that Judge Carroll hands down! Plus a bit more for Juror #1’s time and effort having to attend court to defend himself!
I watched and researched all things Maya Trial and did not talk about it to my spouse until we were in verdict watch. I 100% believe he could have not talked to his wife about the case. Also. If my husband was a juror, I would be researching everything so we could talk about it when he was done!
This has been great coverage! As the rewatch crew… I appreciate being able to hear the full response from you & the chat you know! 😊
Wow people need to watch all your videos before making accusations against you. You have plainly sd many times that BK is presumed innocent at this time and u have been absolutely fair to the cases that u talk Abt and gv the pros and cons for both sides.. you are absolutely amazing Peter and we appreciate all that you do!! Thank you for all your hard work!!!
These bogus claims by the defense are going to cause pause to others summoned to jury duty!
even though I’m someone who does not believe JHACH is at fault for the wrongful death of Maya’s mother, I will concede that this juror LOOKS like someone who the defense probably thought would be on their side & he ended up not being that. At all.
We are all friends here and friends don't always agree, but we can always be respectful to each other.
Agreed - I think the way he has handled everything is great. I believe the Judge is handling this appropriately to satisfy any issues with appeal. And again he is only one juror he obviously didnt force others otherwise they would have questioned them about it. I just wish he didnt have to spend money on an attorney because of this. This has restored my thoughts of Jury duty as well. Job Well Done !!
He's former law enforcement, NOT talking to his spouse about cases has become an artform for him. It's practically a job requirement. So following jury instructions would be a piece of cake for him.
( Sorry @hippolover ) He's basically blind to anything past about 15feet. The entire gallery could've been running around nekkid & he wouldn't be able to tell
Just thinking, if my husband was on a jury for months, it would be easy to figure out what trial it is. Be real, everyone he knew, figured it out.
Her knowing wasn’t an issue. The only issue was if they had discussed the case with each other.
Replay crew here Peter😊 loved your analysis of Juror No1’s hearing…and agree he came across (suit included) as confident in his own truth…glad Judge Carrol approached this in the most transparent way possible for the record. 🙏😊
@Sea Squires I totally agree with you. My spouse and I don’t agree in a lot of issues and court cases. Excellent point. Defense is just desperate and looked really stupid. This is going to bite them in the long run.
How will the Appeals Court judges feel about JHACH lawyers when they go through all the filings, rulings and the record? I wonder if they would be annoyed at the lawyers like the rest of us??
Juror #1 dress funky every day during the trial. Hope he gets reimbursed for his lawyer fees. It’s a shame you do your civic duty and then gets dragged through the mud. JHACH board and defense team should be ashamed of themselves. JMO
Total agree with you Jules and I’m so sorry you were also dragged into their circus making. A few attorneys should be turned in for review, JMO. And if I were involved in this case I’d be doing it. Hope your surgery (?) goes well , I’ll be thinking good thoughts for you!! Congrats on your ProSe vindication as well. May 2024 be full of peace, happiness and prosperity for you and yours!!
Rewatch…..this is the best chat ever! Thanks again Peter.
There have been times when my husband and I have both worked on classified government programs. It's not hard to avoid discussing certain subjects with your spouse.
The reason the defendants lawyers like this juror is because he has dealt with a wife, who tried to take away your kids and thought the wife was controlling and the defendant thought that he would see that in Beata
Sometimes ppl sit on the opposite side to “read “ the jury
I had jury duty and I talked about it with my wife every day when I got home. I detailed everything I had heard, what I thought, and the decision I was going to make. Oh wait, I went to the movies.... nevermind. Guys are hard pressed to share life and death information most of the time.
The vision thing is totally plausible. My husband is the same way. Without his contacts, he can only see things if it’s directly in his face. Without them, he can see figures a little farther away, but not detail.
Most of us don’t even tell our spouses the case we’re even on during that time. We don’t discuss it at all & my husband doesn’t & hasn’t ever asked, nor I him. So, she had to know that he was on the Maya case, or she spoke to him about going to watch the trial & he could have absolutely told her that he can’t discuss anything with him. His wife should have had a bit of better sense and stayed out of the court room or sat in the back & not let it be known that she was in the court room & that her husband was a juror. I do believe this man & know for a fact that it’s very easy to not discuss any case that I’m seated on for the jury.
I mean, Judge Carroll today said if a juror’s spouse asked about the case, the jurors were specifically instructed by Judge Carroll to say “Judge Carroll is a meanie and says I can’t talk about it”. Spouse googles Judge Carroll and knows what case it is. Easy peasy while obeying instructions.
According to Jules in, I think Rob’s chat on Friday night, Jules didn’t know her husband was a juror when the wife was in court. I think the time for better sense was right after the verdict. It would have helped if he waited to speak up, especially with appeals lawyers already on the case (which his wife knew).
I think that should be the takeaway for potential jurors. Don’t stay off a jury. Follow the judge’s instructions and the oath you’ve taken. Go to the Judge if you’ve broken any instructions. Finally, don’t speak publicly immediately after the verdict. We need rational people willing to critically review the evidence and apply the required standard, like in criminal cases that’s innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt (that means the accused does not need to testify and does not even need to provide any defense). If you’re a juror on a high profile case, people will still want to speak to you even when its not the immediate aftermath of the verdict. Reach out to the lawyers for the winning party, ask if they have questions for you and ask if they will let you know once the judgement has been entered. Watch a little of the case coverage. After the judgement’s entered, if you still want to speak publicly, at that point reach out to people whose coverage you thought was fair or good. Jurors that spoke to the media right after the verdict accidentally caused a hassle for themselves in Vallow-Daybell, Maxwell, and other cases.
@Peter you are right on, the way "juror #1" is dressed screams confidence, you hit that 💯 right on! I LOVE your enthusiasm for the law & following cases, if you're not an instructor you need to become one stat! Many years ago I chose the medical field as my career, if I had to do it all over I'd choose law. Thank you for sharing your time & life w/ us on YT, keep up the gr8 work & being you!
Peter, as a man who also considers their wardrobe an extension of one's personality. I concur. That's confidence. That's a man who is ready to answer questions truthfully with confidence and personal style
That's ridiculous.
Good for him not leaving and instead staying in the courtroom to witness the remainder of the meeting hahahahahahaha
@bettywillbrowse, I agree! He sure didn’t seem fazed at all by this interview and stood his ground! I would have stayed also if only just to show them that they didn’t get to me at all and that now I am doubly sure that “this jury” made the right call!
@@foxymama9203 💯💯💯
Peter, I really love your way of presenting things. You don't do a lot of opinion. You just state/explain legal facts. I also very much appreciate your knowledge of FL courts and laws on this one. I know you have to walk a bit of a tight rope since this is in your backyard. These are people you may have to work with/appear before, as well as being licensed in FL. Sometimes, stating legal facts can sound like you are biased simply because the law or decisions favor one or the other. It is easy to see biases when one is looking for it.
In my opinion, Juror #1’s credibility confirmed when he wanted to look at his hippo tattoo for his wedding date cue. 🤣
I wish people would understand that you stand for a fair trial first and foremost!! Love this channel
I ❤️ Judge Carol!
Did you see the Las Vegas judge attacked in court. Crazy!!
I thought #1 looked great. I love your commentary, Peter.
I have diminished eye sight, I see very well up close within 12 inches most days, some days not to good. Distances not good at all. I fully understand Juror #1 explanation about his eye sight. BTW defense needs to pay for Juror #1 attorney.
I had a coworker that was selected to be a juror in a pretty serious trial. It was about 2 months-ish. There was a few days he came into work, in the middle of it. They were excuse to work a few days.. I forgot why. He was very serious why he told EVERYONE, don't mention the trial, don't leave newspapers out (cuz newspapers were always in coffee break room), don't ask me, don't mention what you read in papers. I can't talk about it. Even with my wife. He kept the paper away from home. They had told him and he was very serious about it.
He never wanted to be selected but he was and he took it as a privilege to be on a jury. As we all should.
We didn't have social media, just newspapers and tv news. He wouldn't even watch tv news.
With everything they tell a jury ahead of time, it seems no one should make mistakes.
I'm thinking Floridian quirky confident man who strode into the courtroom oozing "I'm ready---let's get things done" attitude vs Parrot-head or Marley-ian style.
Love listening to you break things down! Thank you so so much!
Rewatching while I wait to have my c section, your voice is so calming.
I would not mess with Juror #1.
You’ve called this!!! Sssooo confident!
Can you look into the Hernandez case in Forsyth County, Georgia?
It has some similarities as the Maya case.
Very sad!!
Thank you for reading this !!
Happy New Year and thanks for all you do!!
in April I went into the ER **6** times for horrific neck pain . According to clinical documentation every visit was treated as a “psych issue.” No treatment no radiology of any kind. 6th visit my kids drove up to where I was in the Prescott hospital Yavapai Regional Medical center and took me down to Honor Scottsdale Hospital where they immediately gave me an MRI and admitted me to their ICU with a fractured neck at c1 c2.
Haven’t been able to get a lawyer yet.
YRMC then went into my medical file and falsified my records. I have proof of this.
This was fun to watch. Let’s see what JHACH’s next slimy move will be. They give lawyers a bad rep. It’s one thing to vigorously defend your client, but they have crossed too many lines. Shameful.
💯
They need to be sanctioned and the Florida Bar Association should also review their abhorrent conduct imho.
@@sngray11 I agree, but sadly unlikely to happen so JHAC will continue to bully patients and their families.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You are so clueless.
I think juror #1 is so comfortable as being police he has probably done many times.
RETINOPATHY has levels of severity. There are so many different things that can play a factor in how bad his vision is.
Replay Crew! Again! 👍🏻 Thanks, Peter, for covering this. I watched it on RA Live but wanted to come back and get a lawyer perspective. That means you! I loved Juror #1, when I saw his clothes I thought, oh there will be absolutely no problems with this guy, he is ready. Which is kinda sorta what you said only not as professional? 😂
T ✌🏻
Hello Peter, Nice to see you again. I've been waiting for your insight into this hearing.
I'll bet he bowls and drinks beer. He reminds me of my dad and his friends.
21:51 shocked he didn’t ask the Judge to ask Juror #1 what they (him & his wife) had for lunch that day 🙄🙄🙄
Great recap, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m so happy to see you back & really appreciate you & the amount of time you spend helping us understand & appreciate you helping us understanding the things we may not always understand! ❤❤❤ THE LAWYER YOU KNOW❤❤❤! I LOVE THE HAIR TOO! IT ALSO SPEAKS I’M HERE TO CLEAR UP THIS NONSENSE COMING FROM THE SAD & SORRY LOSERS WHO ARE TRYING TO THROW HIM & THE OTHER 5 JURORS UNDER THE BUS 🚌!!!!! I ♥️LOVE♥️ THIS JUROR & HIS CONFIDENCE ♥️🎉🎉🎉🎉
And it’s not so much that they wanted to bring the jury to question it’s how they did it through Reddit and through docking him and his family.
I believe that the term is doxxing, but I totally and completely agree with you.
Great coverage
I think your comments are great. We appreciate your insight
I keep seeing on the internet that 'Voir Dire' means 'to speak the truth' in French but it doesn't mean that. As a Belgian I was raised bi-lingual French/Dutch and 'Voir Dire' is French for 'to see, to say' To speak the truth in French is 'Dire la vérité'
Not to mention his exceptional haircut
😂😂🤩
Happy new year Peter!
My spouse and I disagreed a lot during the Adelson and Murtaugh trials. We've been together 25+ years.
Who was right?💪
@TRuru.
Both, really. It was mostly about the "honesty" of certain individuals. My perception is 100% MY reality as is his. 🫠
Actually I have really been waiting for this m, thank you
Happy New Year!
I can’t see the harm in him saying that he couldn’t see her; because he answered the worse question: she told him that he would go to the jury. What difference does it make if he saw her at court or didn’t?
For anyone from the UK, DCF is the same as our Social Services
It's his hair that gets me lololol
He's dressed so dapper, i love it
I appreciate that you don't attack others.
