Guys and girls, I'm testing the SuperThanks button or how is this buy-me-a-coffee button is called. It lets you leave some colorful comment, and makes me happy :) Wanna try?
Or you could just output a mist pass and add DOF in comp. This is how I do it in cycles anyways because it prevents the denoiser from reducing detail in the bokeh. Also doing it in comp means you can add custom bokeh shapes.
It's a valid option for sure, yet it won't work in such extreme cases properly, causing quite visible artifacts. The extremely shallow depth of field better be left for raytracing or some hybrid technique as described in this video :)
Yup, sometimes it works with a fairly low (even surprisingly low) number of samples. With the Max Size set to 0 it's a slightly more complicated issue though, right? Temporal denoising (in the pro version of Resolve etc) fixes this type of noise pretty easily, too bad we don't have a proper temporal denoising solution in Blender (yet). :)
@@GlebAlexandrov this inspired me to test a similar DOF setup, funny enough same amount of samples in both cycles and eevee in this specific case literally takes the same time to render 2.5 seconds at 500 samples for both lol

Dude I've been looking for a way to do custom bokeh with eevee for like a year now and this video saved my life! Thx!
So glad that it was helpful!
liking your clips since 2017
thanks LucioX!
1:58, how to achieve this in Eevee???!!!

UA-cam compression has not been kind to this video
The worst case scenario for the UA-cam compression for sure, the confetti effect lol. Hopefully it doesn't distract from the content too much)
@@GlebAlexandrov Still great info, so no problem!
Thank you for this. I'm really looking how to make the blur in eevee looks better!!
Glad I could help!
Thanks again
Farhad, I hope this little hack will find some use in your 3d experiments :)
@@GlebAlexandrov You're just amazing man, God bless 🫂
For most uses jitter DOF I can get away with using 32 samples or even less.

I don't have a rtx 😢
You don't need it for Eevee, I mean, the raytracing acceleration.
