that vegan toona i really liked. also target had. key word had a vegan tuna of their own. they discontinued it.. that was much better than the one you tried.. also if you dont like any products from sprouts, return it. 🖒
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen I wish this was video had existed before I bought that vegan "toona" out of curiosity too lol. I had the same reaction as you to it - awful. Chickpea salad is definitely better.
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen The Follow Your Heart vegan cheese is awesome. It's almost on the level of Chao--the tomato cayenne is still my fav flavor, but FYH has a smoked Gouda flavor that is the bomb if you can find it. I've had the alfredo before too. It's good in a pinch, but I'd rather make my own. The Vegan Toona is absolutely disgusting. Ugh. I never liked canned tuna but I really don't like this stuff! I'll have to find that Mac n cheese. I'm always on the lookout for new flavors. Thanks for this video! You're funny and I want you to be my friend :)
WHY i love this video? Because only 13 seconds into the video she already fucking starts with tastetesting the first one without an unneccessary long blabla introduction
Ik right! Most of these vids do the long boring introductions with promotions before getting into the point of the video. No one cares about intros! Just get on with it.
this is so refreshing, love your videos because you are so natural in front of camera and you keep the momentum when you get right to the point. im a fan!
Could you make vegan pasta carbonara? It has it all, eggs, bacon, cheese and sometimes cream, and I don't know what to use instead of them, but I miss it so much...
try to soak cashews over night (ca. 50g pro portion). Put smoke tofu in a pan till it's cross, add onions. Blend the cashews with a little bit of water, non-dairy cream, nutritional yeast, vegetable bullion and salt and pepper to taste. Mix it with the tofu and your favorite pasta! I swear it's soooo good!
I don't have measurements but I used ca. 50g of cashews for 100g non-cooked pasta. I just added water and the non-dairy cream/milk to get the consistency I wanted. The spices like nutritional yeast, vegetable bullion (powder or cubes) and salt and pepper I added to taste! I think garlic would also taste great!
not only are your vids genuinely enjoyable, but I thank you for trying this stuff so I don't have to waste your money! what you said about hating food waste is why I eat my failure purchases. I am trying to get into more vegan or vegetarian meals but I am focusing on just using real ingredients. tonight is tabouleh!🍴
I JUST bought those American cheese slices! I miss processed American slices so much! They were pretty good! I pair them with the tofurkey bologna slices (taste like heavennnnn). I've tried those shitakki tofu noodle things. I tell people take the L, run a few miles and just eat the carbs found in NORMAL pasta. It may be 20 calories but it taste like scent less rubber. Thanks for doing this video! You have such a great personality! I really enjoy all your videos and I'm glad I found your channel!
I literally screamed YES when you liked the follow your heart cheese because I love it! Vegan cheese is expensive so I rarely buy it but that and chao are my favorite! I didn't like the toona either it looks like cat food 🤢 You tried a few things I've never seen!
This video was delightful. I love your personality! Your humor is dry like mine (from what I can tell, anyway). I will definitely look into that Namaste mac and the cheese. Would love to see more videos like this. Thanks again!
Thanks for trying all of this for us! I really enjoyed the video. Like you said with the fake tuna, I always feel like using a replacement like chickpeas, not a fake meat/fish substitute is WAY better. I eat chickpea salad on my sandwiches all the time and love it!
You are a warrior because you take the biggest bites !!! I was cringing at that tuna yelling at you to not take a big bite lol ! I love the follow your heart brand ! Their provolone is amazing !
Thank you!! I've just started getting serious eating vegan and your videos inspire me. This was wonderful! I always look at some products and wonder. I'm totally going to look for the cheese slices. I hear a grilled cheese and tomato soup dinner in my near future.
HAHAHA The earthquake kits!! Yes, I grew up in Cali and definitely loved that day right before summer break when we'd get to eat all the fruit roll ups and Capri suns that lasted all year - totally forgot about that!
I started laughing my ass off when you mentioned having vienna sausages in your earthquake kit as a kid. Hahahahaha those were definitely my favorite thing out of all the things put in there (also had those small cans of Tree Top apple juice and MRE water packs). So good. Major flashbacks!!
you are the cutest vegan girl I've ever seen in yt ♡ I used to like highly processed food just like you but thank God I turned vegan last November and I never felt or been any better 🍷✨ gotta try the cheese slices though cause I miss grilled cheese so much 👀
i love your channel! I'm not vegan and usually don't really enjoy watching vegan youtuber videos, but i love watching food videos and i think you make the most interesting, real and authentic vegan stuff! that I just wanna try it
there is an awesome recipe for vegan tuna using young green jackfruit and kelp powder (or in my case whatever I could find like flakes) and dill etc and it is gorgeous, the jackfruit is an almost identical texture and it makes THE best tuna sandwich!
I've been making more and more vegan recipes (bigger win my carnivore husband hasn't complained!) and while I find the product taste test videos interesting, I actually have been trying hard to stay away from processed replacement foods (and I realize you do too for the most part). What I love are the ones where you test recipes not products (corn beef seitan, carrot lox, crab cakes etc etc). Those videos have led to some awesome discoveries so make more please :) :) :)
omg I thought I was the only vegan that misses the absolute fuck out of super processed foods! I miss chicken In a biscuit crackers and chef boyardee beef ravioli out of the can.
Thank you for trying the vegan Victoria alfredo. I normally love Victoria sauces, but I was curious about this one! I also can't wait to try out the American cheese! I miss that taste haha.
I've had the peppered toona and after it was made like a "tuna"salad and refrigerated for a few hours SO GOOD. But straight out of the can, gross. And warm, gross. 🌈💜
I tried that vegan Tuna a few months ago and right away thought it smelled like dog food, I tried a tiny piece and had trouble swallowing it...One of the worst vegan products I've ever had! Victoria Vegan has a delicious vodka sauce, I wasn't crazy about the alfredo either but I do recommend the vodka sauce! So happy to hear Follow your Heart Cheese is good :) I was always so curious about those tofu noodles, good to know that they're ok...Great video Sarah!
I've made a vegan alfredo sauce with cauliflower (I added the FYH Parmesan because I'm trash, but that's irrelevant) and it was honestly so good. My non-vegan best friend and I ate it the entire time we were on vacation.
I like the tofu noodles. I made cauliflower Alfredo and they were good. I put in soup and their fine. I so love the days cheddar slices but will try the follow your heart American slices. Their mozzarella was horrifying. 🤗Love watching your videos.
I love that you love mayo! You're my kindred spirit. I will straight up gross people out by taking a big old spoonful and eating it. My fiancé thinks it's disgusting, so I do it on purpose sometimes! 😂 I literally cannot keep big jars of mayo in my house or I will eat it with almost everything. (Mayo mixed with ketchup makes like a thousand island style dressing and I eat it with saltines...kind of like a bootleg chip and dip! Ha!) Thank you for being so real and eating out of the jar/can/pot! You've inspired me to begin my transition to plant based eating. ❤
Yay congrats on the transition! It's becoming easier and easier to be vegan, I think. Lots of good products on the market these days (lol not that this video makes it seem that way).
For south indiand cuisine we generally use coconut milk instead of cream and we use a lot of rice and lentils. I think if you omit ghee (clarified butter) it is all mostly vegan. Most of the umami flavour comes from frying the spices lightly to then season the dish :)
I’m not even vegan but I came across your channel while looking for a sticky bun recipe and literally you’ve all I’ve been watching for days. I legit already love you and low key want to go back to not eating meat and attempt the vegan lifestyle
I'm currently in like a drug detox from McDonald's, hot dogs, fried bologna sandwiches, and conecuh sausage lol. I was obsessed with processed meats as well. Love these types of videos you're saving vegan noobs like me a lot of money and trouble.
Idk if you'll even see my comment but I agree with you on that Sophie's Kitchen toona, but I have tried another brand called Caroline's Fishless Tuna which looks and smells a lot more like tuna. I've only seen it sold at Meijer but it could be sold elsewhere too maybe. It's not exactly the same as real tuna of course, but it is very good in my opinion and I use it to make tuna salad or with white rice + soy sauce and it turns out pretty well. I use pickle juice or relish as well to help with the flavor on the tuna salad. I also sometimes use it in Alfredo sauce with noodles and it tastes pretty good like that too. That brand also has vegan chicken patties and vegan taco meat but chicken patties in a can sound gross to me lol. I bought the taco meat but haven't tried it yet.
new subscriber here saying hi! watched a few of your videos yesterday and I really enjoyed them. what did you think of the cheese once you made the grilled cheese sandwich with it? we did the same a few weeks back and it was ah-mazing! my 9 yr old was in heaven. 😊🌱🌼💕
I am SOOOOOO glad that you tested the follow your heart slices. I absolutely hate daiya (except their mozzarella shreds baked into lasagna or stuffed shells) anyway outside of Chaos expensive ass cheese which I do like, I've been loving follow your heart's cheddar shreds and I've been eye balling their American slices but I've been scared because I tried daiya's slices (even though I knew I didn't like daiya). now I have to try because I too loved Kraft singles (until I learned about real cheddar cheese lol) and cheese wiz!!
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen it's quite simple. I cut finely a nori sheet and put it in boiling water for 15 min. Then I put the tvp (the really small one) until it absorbes all the water (so don't put too much water) and a tspn of soy sauce, a tspn of apple sider vinegar and two tspn of olive oil. I love to make sandwiches with it. U hope u try it! There are other recipes with the tvp like with mayonese and mustard, but i find the nori one the most convincing ❤️
Have you guys tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
that vegan toona i really liked. also target had. key word had a vegan tuna of their own. they discontinued it.. that was much better than the one you tried.. also if you dont like any products from sprouts, return it. 🖒
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen I wish this was video had existed before I bought that vegan "toona" out of curiosity too lol. I had the same reaction as you to it - awful. Chickpea salad is definitely better.
That alfredo is DISGUSTING it tastes like lemons
i've tried sophie's kitchen vegan toona with black pepper, wasnt good :( so disappointed.
WHY i love this video?
Because only 13 seconds into the video she already fucking starts with tastetesting the first one without an unneccessary long blabla introduction
Hehe. I know what you mean. I do ramble a lot but I edit it down as much as possible. :)
Ik right! Most of these vids do the long boring introductions with promotions before getting into the point of the video. No one cares about intros! Just get on with it.
Can we all agree on how adorable she is at the end munching on celery?
:3 thank you
this was a great review video. short, sweet, to the point. I don't need 5 mins on one product!
also that tuna is nasty. smells like cat food
I know man...so disappointed.
Sarah Studt hear hear!
Sarah Studt true!!!
When she put the entire spoonful of nayo in her mouth... Our girl is DEDICATED!
Haha I would not recommend.
this is so refreshing, love your videos because you are so natural in front of camera and you keep the momentum when you get right to the point. im a fan!
I did NOT expect you to eat a spoonful of that mayo 😂 I laughed so hard when you were vibing with the cheese slices 😂 You're a gem!
lol would not recommend the mayo thing. -_-
that mac and cheese sandwich is what heaven looks like
I appreciate how informative but quick you are. I've watched review videos that go on for way too long!!
:) Thanks!
i freaking love you!! This video had me crackin up. Do more of these please!
I'll try to do them more regularly!
I swear it's soooo good!
and maybe you could add some barbecue sauce or smoked paprika on the tofu to get a meat flavor :)
Eeee I would love to try and make this. I also used to love carbonara with pancetta and peas.
You should look up Chloe Coscarelli's recipe, she makes shiitake bacon and uses silken tofu. I had to Doctor it a little but it was a great base.
Yasss, that shirt!! Dude, those slices are bomb af, I used them for grilled cheese with tomato soup; ugh sooo good! 😋
I could watch your videos all day! Gives me energy.
I have been eyeing all of those products at sprouts for the longest time. This video was great. Thank you.
Love how to the point you are. Short and sweet! Thank you for this great video!
I'm glad I saw this before I bought the vegan tuna! The garbanzo bean tuna recipes online are fine with furikake and nori sheets.
I love the Follow Your Heart American cheese slices too! I try to minimize processed vegan foods but this is one of my guilty pleasures.
I appreciate REAL Honest Thoughts on products! Thank You for trying them before adding stuff to them! 😘
not only are your vids genuinely enjoyable, but I thank you for trying this stuff so I don't have to waste your money! what you said about hating food waste is why I eat my failure purchases. I am trying to get into more vegan or vegetarian meals but I am focusing on just using real ingredients. tonight is tabouleh!🍴
No such thing as a serving size for mac and cheese :-)
Amen and we all learned it early. :)!
You tried a few things I've never seen!
Yesssss I think these might beat out the Chao for me now! But that's only because I loved Kraft singles.
Edyn Jacks Oh heyyy girl!! I love your videos.
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen I used to love cheese and I've tried them all. They taste like a chemical to me. so mad.
I love these types of videos from you!! Please do MORE!
That was one of the best vegan taste testing I've seen!! Thanks! Please do more!
For sure!
Sarah this was awesome, you should definitely do more of these. I want to try that cheese now! Love your vids :)
Your reaction to the cheese slices was pure love lol
Thank you!! I've just started getting serious eating vegan and your videos inspire me. This was wonderful! I always look at some products and wonder. I'm totally going to look for the cheese slices. I hear a grilled cheese and tomato soup dinner in my near future.
Glad I can help! Congrats on taking the steps to go veg. :)
I love the chill vibe of your videos! Lots of love! xx
The song at the end....PERFECTION!!!! 🙌🏽 lol
The camera likes you, you are very relaxed and authentic, thanks for being the taster
I'm so happy to stumble on your channel, cause its hard transitioning to Vegan and knowing which product to avoid.
What I said when you ate the "tuna" --- oooh that girl is BRAVE! lol. Love the mac and cheese on celery too! Great video!
The FYH slices are tasty! I just used the American in a tofu scramble quesadilla--awesome!!
i was going to take a nap, but now that i got the notif sarah posted, i'm wide awake. ready to binge more of her videos until i pass out!
Sweet dreams.
HAHAHA The earthquake kits!! Yes, I grew up in Cali and definitely loved that day right before summer break when we'd get to eat all the fruit roll ups and Capri suns that lasted all year - totally forgot about that!
Haha I'm glad someone else can relate! :)
YESSSS!!!! we had earthquake drill days and got to sit in the fields on the blue tarps and bust open our kits and snack away on them!!
I started laughing my ass off when you mentioned having vienna sausages in your earthquake kit as a kid. Hahahahaha those were definitely my favorite thing out of all the things put in there (also had those small cans of Tree Top apple juice and MRE water packs). So good. Major flashbacks!!
you are the cutest vegan girl I've ever seen in yt ♡ I used to like highly processed food just like you but thank God I turned vegan last November and I never felt or been any better 🍷✨ gotta try the cheese slices though cause I miss grilled cheese so much 👀
The Victoria Vegan vodka sauce is AWESOME, that should be your next one to purchase! Fabulous with some brown rice pasta & Gardein crumbles!
i love your channel! I'm not vegan and usually don't really enjoy watching vegan youtuber videos, but i love watching food videos and i think you make the most interesting, real and authentic vegan stuff! that I just wanna try it
I like how short and sweet your intro was and u got right into it!
there is an awesome recipe for vegan tuna using young green jackfruit and kelp powder (or in my case whatever I could find like flakes) and dill etc and it is gorgeous, the jackfruit is an almost identical texture and it makes THE best tuna sandwich!
Jackfruit is so amazing and versatile!
Love you, thank you ive gotten so many products to try from your channel
Follow up I hadn't gotten to the end when I first commented! You stuck the celery in the mac I said hmm balance then it appeared on the screen! 😂😂😂
Seriously you are my fav you tube channel! You rock!!!
Thank you!
The way she laughs in the end...man,so cute !
I've been making more and more vegan recipes (bigger win my carnivore husband hasn't complained!) and while I find the product taste test videos interesting, I actually have been trying hard to stay away from processed replacement foods (and I realize you do too for the most part). it's awesome that your hubby is enjoying the vegan food. :) I will do more recipe reviews soon!
I love how different people's tastes are. Everything (besides the mayo & tuna) we have opposite opinions on. Animals are cool.
I love your videos so much! Your personality reminds me of me! Your so awesome and inspiring as well!!
omg I thought I was the only vegan that misses the absolute fuck out of super processed foods! I miss chicken In a biscuit crackers and chef boyardee beef ravioli out of the can.
Omg...chef boyardee's pasta that had meatballs in it used to be my favorite thing. I would always ask my sister if I could steal her meatballs lol.
Thank you for trying the vegan Victoria alfredo. I normally love Victoria sauces, but I was curious about this one! I also can't wait to try out the American cheese! I miss that taste haha.
The celery at the end with the mac n cheese is basically a metaphor of my life hahaha love it!
I've had the peppered toona and after it was made like a "tuna"salad and refrigerated for a few hours SO GOOD. But straight out of the can, gross. And warm, gross. 🌈💜
That American cheese is my #1 absolute favorite vegan cheese. I always have it in my fridge. Love love love. 💙
so excited to watch this after work!
The mac and cheese sandwich at the end was everything. #goals
Amazing and straight to the point
love ittt immediately subscribed 👍🏼
Lol that mac and grilled cheese though? And then going in with the celery?!? Straight up stoner snack. Loves it!
LOL I can't argue with you there.
Vienna sausages are literally my FAVVV
Love these videos!!! Keep them coming
Loved the ending...hilarious! Try Earth Balance mac & cheese. Closest thing to Kraft I have ever tasted.
I loved this! I want to definitely find that brand of Mac n cheese to make for my grandchildren
I'll look into the vodka sauce! :)
I've made a vegan alfredo sauce with cauliflower (I added the FYH Parmesan because I'm trash, but that's irrelevant) and it was honestly so good. My non-vegan best friend and I ate it the entire time we were on vacation.
I love the Follow Your Heart American cheese!
that cheese is the best and is perfect to make grilled cheeses with because it melts
your voice is soo nice and calming
:) Thank you
I love the Follow your Heart "cheez!" The smoke gouda flavor is even better than the cheddar!
I've been keeping my eyes peeled for that flavor!
I like the tofu noodles. I made cauliflower Alfredo and they were good. I put in soup and their fine. I so love the days cheddar slices but will try the follow your heart American slices. Their mozzarella was horrifying. 🤗Love watching your videos.
They weren't bad! maybe in a good sauce, or mixed with regular noodles to cut the calories, they would be really good.
omfg I went so nuts when you played Hercules at the end!!! ily
Yay congrats on the transition! It's becoming easier and easier to be vegan, I think. Lots of good products on the market these days (lol not that this video makes it seem that way).
That last bit, you're hilarious 😂😂😂
Thanks for keeping it real 👊
I used to work for one of the assembly lines which made and distributed "just mayo"! I used to run the machines that dispensed it into the bottles!
I guess I should thank you then. ;)
you're too kind! haha
I loved vienna sausages! lol, I totally relate to your food choices
I had the exact same reaction when I tried that vegan tuna! Thank goodness for chickpeas!
That mac 'n' cheese grilled cheese combo at the end! HAHA. You look so happy. Lol
Do you think you could make an alfredo Video with the different types you have made? That would be awesome!
👍 I love it
"I could eat the whole thing even though it's a family size 4 portion" 😂Oh how I've missed you!!! 😉
Aspiring vegan! Love your honest personality, thank you! Subscribed 💕🌟
OMG When you went back with the celery for some Mac n cheese I almost died! 😂👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
A lot of south indian vegetarian food is also vegan even if it isn't advertised as such. You should check it out my fav is Sambhar
I will do some research about south indian cuisine! my knowledge of indian food is very limited but i would love to learn more.
For south indiand cuisine we generally use coconut milk instead of cream and we use a lot of rice and lentils. I think if you omit ghee (clarified butter) it is all mostly vegan. Most of the umami flavour comes from frying the spices lightly to then season the dish :)
OMG...I lost it with the Mac N Cheese and celery combo as I find myself doing the same...😹😹😹
Balance is Key Babe!!!
Follow your heart Medium Ceddar, the best for grilled chesse 🧡🧡🧡
I really like those cheese slices too! Can't do those noodles though, it's a texture thing.
Follow Your Heart grilled cheese wnd some tomato soup = my childhood
YESSSS. I put ketchup on my grilled cheese when I'm too lazy to make the soup. :-P
have you ever done a recipe/taste test for cookies made with chickpeas?
Mayo by the mouthful. 👍🏻.
Original Veganaise is my fave.
I’m not even vegan but I came across your channel while looking for a sticky bun recipe and literally you’ve all I’ve been watching for days. I legit already love you and low key want to go back to not eating meat and attempt the vegan lifestyle
Aw so glad you've been enjoying the videos. :)
watching you eat is so satisfying lol and you should sing more in your videos! You have such a lovely voice
Hehe thank you :)
I'm currently in like a drug detox from McDonald's, hot dogs, fried bologna sandwiches, and conecuh sausage lol. I was obsessed with processed meats as well. Love these types of videos you're saving vegan noobs like me a lot of money and trouble.
The detox is a real thing. I used to prefer McDonald's burgers over actual gourmet food. lol
I will look into the Caroline's brand for sure! Thanks for the suggestion. :)
I like your shirt, such a classic game. Thats some nostalgia right there lol
I knowwwww. I wish I had that game still.
I bought that vegan toona and I COULD NOT eat it... chickpea salad is waaaaay better lol
For real...so sad. :(
that cheese is the bomb.. we make grilled cheese all the time with that and its sooooo gooood
new subscriber here saying hi! watched a few of your videos yesterday and I really enjoyed them. what did you think of the cheese once you made the grilled cheese sandwich with it? we did the same a few weeks back and it was ah-mazing! my 9 yr old was in heaven. 😊🌱🌼💕
It was so good! Honestly did not taste vegan AT ALL. I've been so loyal to the Chao slices but these might take the top slot now...
I am SOOOOOO glad that you tested the follow your heart slices. I absolutely hate daiya (except their mozzarella shreds baked into lasagna or stuffed shells) anyway outside of Chaos expensive ass cheese which I do like, I've been loving follow your heart's cheddar shreds and I've been eye balling their American slices but I've been scared because I tried daiya's slices (even though I knew I didn't like daiya). now I have to try because I too loved Kraft singles (until I learned about real cheddar cheese lol) and cheese wiz!!
omg the crunch of that celery is so satisfying lmao
This video is made for me considering these are 3 of my favorite things
I make vegan tuna with textured soy (tvp or tsp) and nori!! It tastes quite similar!
I need to cook with TVP more! I have a bag in my pantry I haven't gotten around to using.
There are other recipes with the tvp like with mayonese and mustard, but i find the nori one the most convincing ❤️
the Alfredo sauce I would add slightly sauted garlic and onion. I bet that will fix it and probably can be used for Mac and cheese. thx
