Thanks for the video. I've done a couple of these recipes - they're all pretty similar but with a few ingredient variations. The things I've learned are - marinade for a minimum of two days and ideally three, cook the carrots a little longer so they fall off a fork but retain their shape, prick them with the fork to help them absorb the marinade and turn them once a day to ensure they are well covered, then cook them in the marinade not just a dry pan. I have had meat eaters wide eyed in astonishment that they aren't in fact eating regular hot dogs!
I think with a lot of vegan substitutes, it really comes down to the dressings and sauces, condiments etc. that are generally associated with the meat dish that you're replicating.
I just made carrot dogs the other night! Try seasoning them up adding a little bit of olive oil and roasting them in the oven. That's what I did they come out so good and the texture was spot on!
Me too! I like seeing foods being recreated with different ingredients. So for vegan dogs I like seeing how one makes them using vegetables instead of meat.
I'm not vegan and I also like them. They look yummy, give you different ways to eat less meat and animal products (which is good for your heart etc), and even if you eat meat and animal products you don't need to eat them to enjoy food.
hands down best vegan UA-cam channel ... your videos don't start with annoying intro with music that belongs on a kids show. second you are making food that resembles standard american fast food. Your instructions are easy, and you don't come off as angry because all you ate was bananas and smoothies all day... lol
i know this is an old post......... but i completely agree, some of them also come off as fake happy and bubbly or just doing it to get noticed or something, but her videos seem really genuine, really glad i decided to click on it.
I never would have thought to make a hotdog out of a carrot. Lightlife smart dogs are actually really good and taste a lot like a hotdog. Well, as far as I remember. I haven't actually had a hotdog in over a decade.
Hi Sarah, My wife and I were quite surprised how much we liked these. A couple of quick changes we did include using the centre of our apple corer to make the carrots perfectly uniform. This means that we don't end up with a soft end and/or a crunchy end when they are cooked. Secondly, we added 1/4 teaspoon of ground cumin to the marinade. This added an earthy undertone that we very much enjoyed. Great job!
that's such a good idea to use the apple corer! I would love to give these another go sometime this summer. I'm glad you enjoyed them with the modifications. :)
Sure did. In fact we just had a family BBQ/Movie Night (we've set up the back yard as a theatre). The BBQ has a side burner so I was able to do up the vegan hot-dogs on there while preparing the meat for the non-vegans on the main burners. Good times had by all.
I just made them for couple of friends, who came over last night it was my first time eating it too and it blew us away! It's AMAZING! Btw. you can just use a bit more liquid smoke and no soy sauce at all and then a little bit of Himalayan- or black salt in order to avoid the massive saltiness. Thanks for this. 0/
Wow! I'm impressed ;) Just made these tonight for dinner and I seriously couldn't tell it was a carrot! I did find that it was important to make sure the carrots were sufficiently boiled so as to be soft enough in the middle to get the right mouth-feel and so the marinade would go deep enough into the carrot. I put one in the microwave to cook the inside a little more and it came out perfect. I had mine with mustard, sweet relish and a slice of Violife vegan cheddah and it tasted so close to an actual hotdog it was practically indistinguishable. Infinitely better than the nasty alternative! Thanks to Sarah for making this video of Hannah's recipe. - Cheers!
I made this at a bbq for Fourth of July and i was ASTONISHED as to how close it tastes to a hot dog. Oh my god. Unfortunately the omni's at the party were not amused and unwilling to try but I did not even care. So amazing.
ThatVeganWhiteGirl I like how you say omnis instead of meat-eater because it is more respectful. (: Kudos to you, my friend!! I am an omni and I would try it ♥

Liquid smoke is magic for that flavor! This is a really good and if you want a "meatier" texture there are a lot of great seitan hot dog recipes out there.
To add flavor to the soy dogs I fry them in a pan and they get a little crunchy that I love! But don't look very pretty. I add liquid smoke, or Montreal smoke steak seasoning, add some garlic salt and onion powder to add flavor, it adds a ton of flavor and I love them best cooked this way.

I made these and they were great. my kids loved them and thought they tasted like a hot dog. I booked mine longer which helped get the crunch out of the middle
that was some great toppings, i like mine with a touch of vegenaise, tiny sprinkling of daiya cheddar shreds, ketchup and my chopped vegan kimchi. i just boil mine in a similar recipe but i use mushroom seasoning to replace most of the soy, i also use garam masala and some pickling spice, korean hot pepper flakes, molasses... and i omit all oil. i pull them out when they're still a little crisp like shown in your video and freeze them in baggies for quick meals (i make five or ten pounds at a time [big freezer] and freeze the strained cooking liquid in containers for later batches and for boiling beans and for soups). i use two chopsticks as stops and cut the halved carrots lengthwise slightly so the flavor penetrates better and i also add the skinny ends when i cook the tops as my husband likes to eat them with rice or when he doesn't want to bother with bread.
You seem like a vegan who is compassionate, and does not want to force her lifestyle upon those who may not be there yet, or may never be there. I read some of your backstory, so perhaps you did not come to veganism quite the same way some others do. Yet, you follow the lifestyle, from what I have seen.. Regardless of that, the best thing about your channel is that you do not try to force anything on anyone in the videos I have watched so far. If only more vegans could follow the principles that you and some others do, I think more people would work towards at least having a more plant-based diet. The difference is in the presentation, the passion, and the ability to not guilt/slander/hate/shame/etc those who are not part of that lifestyle. Thank you so very much, Sarah. :) You are one that makes it easier for me to investigate eating more plant-based foods without being told I should die, or that I am a murderer, rapist, etc [there are some people who do that almost religiously to non-vegans...]
Thank you so so much for that sweet comment! I do make a conscious effort to keep a positive focus on my channel. All of my family and closest friends are not vegan, and I always keep them in mind and try to make the lifestyle look fun and easy. :) I doubt they'll ever go vegan but I love when I can inspire them to try new plant-based recipes! I'm glad if I can help you explore new options too.
@@cheezheadz3928 Yeah just read Sarah's comment, I have nothing for you. You are actually showing the attitude that pushes people away, and that is a psychological thing, not a conscious choice thing.
I hate mushy carrots too! No, these were still slightly firm inside (but not raw). Then after browning them in the pan they were sort of crispy on the outside.
Cooking them to the right tenderness (before you put them in the marinade) is the key. If they're too crunchy you won't feel like you're eating a hot dog. Same if they are too mushy. So keep poking them with a fork as they are cooking until they feel right to you. Also, as Sarah mentioned, they are salty if eaten by themselves without the bun and condiments. After cooking them in the frying pan, just rinse them off. It reduces the salty taste, but retains the delicious hot dog flavoring
I made these the other day to take to a friend's bbq, I think they worked pretty damn well, as you say, its all in the condiments! Minor complaint: how roll-y they were, any slightly inclined surface and they were off, so I ended up eating a few gravelly floor carrots. Maybe I'm just not used to eating cylindrical food.
About 20 years ago when my 4 boys were very young, I made carrot BBQ Carrot hot dogs. (( I was a vegetarian back then and "real hotdogs" were not even allowed in my house so when I told the boys we were having hot dogs for lunch they were estatic and they just could not believe that we were actually going to have hot dogs)) they really did look like hot dogs too. So everyone prepared their hot dogs and buns and took a bite. You should have seen the expression of confusion on their face when it did not taste (texture especially) like hot dogs. To this day my boys have never let me forget about that. They were so upset they did not get the REAL hot dogs. Its funny now but I think I scarred a couple of them from trusting me for making hot dogs. LOL I will try this recipe, sounds good to me !!! Thanks for the video !!!!
Oh girl, I LOVE bologna too! I need a good vegan bologna substitute because my favorite summertime snack is a bologna and mayo sandwich. Already have the vegan mayo. Just need the vegan bologna.
I miss morningstar veggie hot dogs. They tasted better than real hot dogs & were discontinued & I dont know yyyy. I tried this last night from another site & it was not good. It was like eating carrot & bread. I did toast my bread w/ butter on the skillet & garnished it with sauerkraut which made it eatable. Thx for sharing.
I don't think I ever tried the Morningstar! I think the Lightlife Smart Dogs are pretty good. But the carrot ones are a good choice if you're trying to avoid a bunch of processed stuff. :)
yea morningstar has corn dogs which I dont like. I remember they used to sell it in 1pound pkts like reg hot dogs. My kids loved them better than meat hot dogs. Some company's sell hot dogs that are too thin & tasteless. I still have a few carrots marinating in the fridge that I threw a few in my meatless beef stew last night.Thx for promoting this awesome lifestyle of eating healthier w/o animals.
I was sent here by my sister who told me that there was someone with my exact food obsessions when I was little. I LOVED HamburgerHelper; everyone in my family knew my preference list of the flavors. Also, I used to eat mayo on bread every day after school!! Good job coming so far from where we've been lol!!
You convinced me to try carrot dogs. I have been very skeptical and am not a fan of faking meat (I don’t typically eat real or fake meat) but if you like it, maybe I will too. I think I will also try boiling longer and maybe marinating longer too. Thanks for sharing.
I got a tip for you with the vegan mayo next time you make these or make a sandwich where you want the bread toasted. Spread a thin layer of vegan mayo on the underside of the bread, fry it in a pan for about 1-2 minutes just until it caramelizes into the bread (turns golden brown). The mayo will end up getting a slightly sweet, tangy flavour to it that is THE best. I used to do that all the time before I was vegan whenever I made tortas (Mexican sandwiches on torta bread. It's hella good). Also I made these before and definitely if you cook them a minute longer, they get a texture like Oscar Meyer sausages but with a faint carrot taste (easily masked with a lot of condiments).
Ah thanks for the tip. :) Will try mayo on the bread instead of butter next time I have a craving for a vegan grilled cheese! Definitely going to make these again with the extra cook time.
the problem with soy sauce and braggs are that they naturally have MSG that occurs during their process of fermentation. I found that out the hard way and kept getting headaches and major weight gain of a lot of water wait and bloating until I finally read up on it and then stopped. But once in a while I guess when you get that craving..it's good to give these things a try!
*It's so funny that this would be a video recommended to me because I have been craving hot dogs for at LEAST a week😖. I can't wait to try this recipe. New subbie. Thanks so much.*
Just had these....they tasted JUST LIKE HOT DOGS!!! So yummy! I doubled the recipe and froze the leftover marinade. I will definitely be making these again and again. I can't wait to try your fish tacos made with cauliflower!
Ceviche ! I've recently become vegetarian. I don't know if this recipe is vegan or not but I make ceviche with textured soy. I boil the soy and then drain it. cut up tomato, cucumber, onion, and cilantro and mix with lots of lime** juice and pink salt. It's delicious ! On a tostada with some hot sauce :) Just Make sure all the water is drained( I use a smasher thingy to press all the water out ) also it's better cold ***
:) I had pre-cancer a year ago, so I did mostly organic and cleaning for a long time, and literally just a couple days ago officially decided to go Vegan! I feel so good! The hardest part for me is no honey and learning the baking (my sister in law is a professional baker, so that doesn't help lol) .. any suggestions?
im not a vegan due to financial and living circumstances, but im trying to use less animal products in the meals I make because I'm having a hard time digesting them now and I'm hooked on your channel! thank you for showing us easy and affordable recipes
Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the wall thingy that you have your glasses on? I need that in my life like last week. I absolutely adore hotdogs but can't have soy so thank you for this recipe 👌☺️
These will be nice for when my Vegitarian friends come over for dinner and for sneaking veggies into my nephew's meals (standard picky kid) but this is very helpful.
My next experiment Marinating carrots for Faux Lox.. Cant wait the marinade is really good n it already dosnt taste " Carroty" I put it together around 8 hrs ago Shaken the container a few times..Really think.its gonna ROCK I love carrots to begin with.so.Im happy to give this one a shot
I want to try this. I love hotdogs but usually have trouble digesting processed meat. This is also a way for me to eat cooked carrots since I'm picky with them cooked.
we only got one here a few months ago and I'm in a pretty big city so hopefully you get one soon! Do you have a bargain grocery outlet near you? I get a lot of vegan stuff there cheap!
This is the third video of yours I've watched Sarah, it is very interesting...I will have to try these! I am not vegan, but I do love interesting vegetable recipes, and this definitely qualifies as that! Keep up the good work!!
I have a local restaurant that makes vegan hotdogs and they are amazing. From some of the recipes that I've read, baking the carrot dogs is the way to go.
That's such a great idea! I'm gonna try these. I also really love Sriracha, especially the extra hot and the onion one. A friend of mine gave me eight huge bottles for my birthday a year and a half ago. There are only two left :/
This recipe seems so intriguing. I'm not even a fan of carrots yet I want to try this :) being a vegetarian I buy veggie dogs but I know those are extremely processed so this might be a good (healthy?) alternative to that. Btw you have an amazing personality!!
Exactly! I do like the Lightlife veggie dogs and some of the sausage alternatives out there but sometimes it's nice to have an option made of veggies. Plus I just like to play around with food so these recipes are fun. :D
Great taste test, love to follow you Channel. Used to eat Srirachas in 2 out of 3 meals until my husbond read in ingrediense list that it contains monomantriumglutamat. In Denmark all of the flying goose Srirachas contains monomantriumglutamat, maybe its NOT the Same in the us. I try to avoid eating monomantriumglutamat in my lifestyle of clean eating, and have found a local brand that are “clean”.
I did this today/yesterday. I loved but like you said, slightly too salty. I forgot to add mayonnaise it might milden the saltines. I did four like you did in this video. I had only one and I will eat tomorrow the rest.
You look so happy while eating :) I really love your channel, it inspires me to try more stuff even if it needs a lot of work :D Will try these hotdogs soon!
I will now be doing carrot hotdogs only in my house no store soy ones. I did omit rice vinegar from recipe and cooked carrots for over 20 minutes. Sarah this is a marvelous recipe and I tried the vegan ranch you mentioned in a previous video and loved it!!! Thank you and Namaste
I actually went out to eat at a farmers market joint and they had carrot hot dogs on their menu. I gave them a try and they were horrible! The carrot was simply steamed, and the toppings and bread didn't help the situation one bit. Plus it was expensive too! This recipe actually seems worth it though!! 👌🏽
Thank u for all your videos! I'm not vegan...yet. Can't seem to let go of my baked chicken beast lol. Anyway, by changing my diet to almost completely plant based, I've lost almost 70 lbs in the last 3 months. It's astonishing! (Also eliminating refined sugar) It was tough at first, like withdrawing from drugs, but now it's just habit. I learned most of my stuff from UA-camrs like u so I Thank u!
Haha I can't take credit for the idea but it sure was fun to try out. :) So, I don't eat strictly starch solution, because I do have quite a lot of fruit most days now that it's summer. I don't have much to lose (already at a healthy BMI but want to get a little leaner) so it's going slow but definitely still seeing differences about every other week. I did take some progress photos yesterday. I might share them in another month or so...still want to make a little more progress first!
I am not a vegan and I'm not really sure how I ended up here, but just wanted to say that I enjoyed the video...and I *totally* understand the whole ground beef over steak thing! I don't know what it is, but given the choice between the two, I will always choose ground beef. lol
I love that you're vegan but you have a mayonnaise addiction. I am right there with you! Mayonnaise is my FAVORITE condiment. I used to abuse the hell out of some mayonnaise.
I'm not vegan (yet), but I am trying to incorporate vegan foods as often as I can. You are very pretty, but the hotdogs were what drove me here lol You eating mayo on toast as a younger person is insane lol , I used to eat maybe a full loaf toasted with mayo on its own. You took me back with that one!
I have to say, when the carrot hotdog recipes started going around the vegan community, I was like highly highly highly skeptical, but I must say, that DOES like a hot dog. I wonder if you cut a slit in it, would the seasonings go into the carrot more, giving it a more even color? or multiple slits? I am curious. is it vegan good or vegan good and could fool some non-vegans when served right?
Fantastic. Thank you. It is so good to hear your honest thoughts on the result and suggestions. I will try this as well. Sorry you got so messy but it was fun to watch. :)
are you are adorable and you cook like a chef.I want to try this sometimes but I just got started with veganism and vegetarianism. They Look good but being a heart patient I cant stand salt.have you tried the smart ones veggie dogs? i found them at walmart they are great, keep doing yo thang girl.
Also since you said you liked hamburger helper growing up, you might be interested in "beefaroni" (veganized, of course). Here's a pretty good vegan clone from "Isa Does It" called "Lentil-A-Roni": jessicamurnane.com/lentil-a-roni-from-isa-does-it-october-events/ I used to eat this a lot growing up when my father and I would make it (albeit with ground beef) and it was pretty good. If you'd like something closer to ground beef, substitute the lentils for vegan mince (e.g. Yves or Boca Crumbles. I don't recommend Tofurky mince, it has too strong of a chocolate-y taste that was really weird to me).
Thanks for the video. I've done a couple of these recipes - they're all pretty similar but with a few ingredient variations.
I still have a few carrots marinating in the fridge that I threw a few in my meatless beef stew last night.Thx for promoting this awesome lifestyle of eating healthier w/o animals.
coraza naoro What? !! When were they discontinued? I have some in my freezer
You probably have those small newer versions. I used to buy the one pound pks & tasted exactly like real hot dogs. Now they have these skinnier dogs.
coraza naoro I love their corn dogs though and I'm a picky eater.
I was sent here by my sister who told me that there was someone with my exact food obsessions when I was little. I LOVED HamburgerHelper; everyone in my family knew my preference list of the flavors. Also, I used to eat mayo on bread every day after school!! Good job coming so far from where we've been lol!!
LOL I feel a little less crazy now for my odd tastes. Luckily the vegenaise is pretty similar to real mayo when I need my fix haha.
You convinced me to try carrot dogs. I have been very skeptical and am not a fan of faking meat (I don’t typically eat real or fake meat) but if you like it, maybe I will too. I think I will also try boiling longer and maybe marinating longer too. Thanks for sharing.
Your hair is gorgeous! Also, I love these inventive taste tests, thanks for uploading :)
If u love mayo, try self made rice mayo, just look up a recipe online. Its not processed at all and its still very good!!
Never heard of that but I will for sure check it out!
Oh my gosh, I thought the idea of a carrot hot dog was crazy, but now I totally have to try this!
Looks so good
Can you do more of these! I love watching you go thru the motions and ten telling us your honest opinions
Planning some soon!
i'm not even a vegan but im gonna have to try these! subbed
the problem with soy sauce and braggs are that they naturally have MSG that occurs during their process of fermentation. I found that out the hard way and kept getting headaches and major weight gain of a lot of water wait and bloating until I finally read up on it and then stopped. But once in a while I guess when you get that craving..it's good to give these things a try!
Hmm I will look into this! I don't know much about MSG, just that it's something to avoid. I appreciate that you let me know!
My pleasure to share what I know!
I'm so glad you liked them!
Ceviche !
I've recently become vegetarian.
I don't know if this recipe is vegan or not but I make ceviche with textured soy. I boil the soy and then drain it. cut up tomato, cucumber, onion, and cilantro and mix with lots of lime** juice and pink salt.
It's delicious !
On a tostada with some hot sauce :) Just Make sure all the water is drained( I use a smasher thingy to press all the water out )
also it's better cold ***
That sounds so so good! I'll try it soon!
Sarah, I just discovered you and you're awesome!! I am really considering going vegan and your recopies are so inspiring. Thank you!
Aw that's awesome! Starting with a couple vegan days a week can be really fun and easy.
I totally understand. I tried to go vegetarian in high school and it was hard because my family wasn't into it. I'm glad I can help!
This is an older video but have you tried making mayo with aquafaba? (chickpea water) it works really well and tastes like the 'real' thing!!
Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the wall thingy that you have your glasses on? I need that in my life like last week. I absolutely adore hotdogs but can't have soy so thank you for this recipe 👌☺️
It's actually built into the wall! I hope you enjoy the recipe. :D
These will be nice for when my Vegitarian friends come over for dinner and for sneaking veggies into my nephew's meals (standard picky kid) but this is very helpful.
Exactly! Gotta find ways to sneak the healthy stuff in. :)
thanx for all your great recipes im 2 weeks on being vegan now and i need so many recipes since im new to this but ur awesome😊
Congratulations! That's so awesome. I love trying out new recipes too.
Same here! Transitioning vegan since the first of the year and UA-cam has been a godsend! What a great channel! New subbie.
My next experiment
Marinating carrots for Faux Lox..
Cant wait the marinade is really good n it already dosnt taste " Carroty"
I put it together around 8 hrs ago
Shaken the container a few times..Really think.its gonna ROCK
I love carrots to begin with.so.Im happy to give this one a shot
Yum! Looks yummy I'm going to try them out soon! Great video ☺️
I want to try this. I love hotdogs but usually have trouble digesting processed meat. This is also a way for me to eat cooked carrots since I'm picky with them cooked.
Not sure if you have a winco where you live but they have amino acids in the bulk section and nutritional yeast, too!
Bulk amino acids!?! So jealous! I don't have a winco.
we only got one here a few months ago and I'm in a pretty big city so hopefully you get one soon! Do you have a bargain grocery outlet near you? I get a lot of vegan stuff there cheap!
she looks and talks like Mandy moore
Haha I get this a lot. It's funny.
This is the third video of yours I've watched Sarah, it is very interesting...I will have to try these! I am not vegan, but I do love interesting vegetable recipes, and this definitely qualifies as that! Keep up the good work!!
So glad you enjoy them!
Finally tried them a week ago. Sooo delicious! 🎉
I love that you play with food! I'm learning so much from you!
damn, i guess i have to make these now
Great taste test, love to follow you Channel.
Carrot hotdogs are soooo good! This video is making me crave them! YUM :)
You look so happy while eating :) I really love your channel, it inspires me to try more stuff even if it needs a lot of work :D
Will try these hotdogs soon!
I hope you love them!
I'm so happy you enjoyed it. :)
I ate Mayo as pudding!
I enjoy your content and it's his lovely.
Can you try jackfruit for pulled pork?
I'll do a video on it soon! I have already tried it personally and really enjoy it. I use jackfruit all the time -- in tacos, sandwiches, etc.
I love your jack fruit recipe with bbq sauce. :)
Love these! I love carrots so even better!
Yeah I really enjoyed this! And the ingredients are pretty cheap so even if you don't love it, not much of a loss.
Before I went vegan, I love super processed meats too. Especially braunschweiger. I don't even know what it's made of...
These look so good for hotdog cravings!
i loooovve carrot hotdogs. So good I'm going to go make them now haha
I've only watched a few of your vids but have found them really interesting. what made you go vegan? was it for health reasons.?
I totally want to try these some day !!!
I'm not a fan of cooked carrots either, so I've been weary of trying this recipe, but might have to try it some day
I was pleasantly surprised! I do prefer homemade seitan dogs though, even if they're a little less wholesome. :)
I made these, so was curious to see how yours were. Mine were too crunchy too. I think they need a LOT longer to boil. X
I love ❤️ Mayo too 😉. Veganaise is my fave.
Love your channel! Binge watching now!!! 😊
Congrats! That is a lot of progress in such a short amount of time!
What a brilliant idea,OMG thank you ! BTW how is your weight loss on Starch Solition going? Mayby an update ? 😊
Haha I can't take credit for the idea but it sure was fun to try out. :)
So, I don't eat strictly starch solution, because I do have quite a lot of fruit most days now that it's summer. I don't have much to lose (already at a healthy BMI but want to get a little leaner) so it's going slow but definitely still seeing differences about every other week. I did take some progress photos yesterday. I might share them in another month or so...still want to make a little more progress first!
Can you re-use the marinade? Like keep it in jar for future uses?
I made it without the dry gin and as a meat eater I liked it. Could tell it wasn't a hotdog but wasn't a bad result
The lid that popped off the jar killed me 😂
I am not a vegan and I'm not really sure how I ended up here, but just wanted to say that I enjoyed the video...and I *totally* understand the whole ground beef over steak thing! I don't know what it is, but given the choice between the two, I will always choose ground beef. lol
Haha I'm glad I'm not alone in that. :P
You are very pretty, but the hotdogs were what drove me here lol
You eating mayo on toast as a younger person is insane lol , I used to eat maybe a full loaf toasted with mayo on its own. You took me back with that one!
seeing a vegan so in love w condiments, mayo and processed meats makes me pretty inspired to try veganism for myself
You should try making the carrots the way you did the bagels and 'lox' carrots; bake them in salt!
are you are adorable and you cook like a chef.I want to try this sometimes but I just got started with veganism and vegetarianism. They Look good but being a heart patient I cant stand salt.have you tried the smart ones veggie dogs? i found them at walmart they are great, keep doing yo thang girl.
I like the veggie dogs too!! They're great with some condiments for more flavor.
What’s a good soy sauce alternative ? For people who are dangerously allergic to soy? Thanks!
I also stood my cooked carrots upright in a tall jar and then poured the marinade in the jar. I don't have zip locks >_
Good call! More sustainable.
Also since you said you liked hamburger helper growing up, you might be interested in "beefaroni" (veganized, of course). Here's a pretty good vegan clone from "Isa Does It" called "Lentil-A-Roni": jessicamurnane.com/lentil-a-roni-from-isa-does-it-october-events/
I used to eat this a lot growing up when my father and I would make it (albeit with ground beef) and it was pretty good. If you'd like something closer to ground beef, substitute the lentils for vegan mince (e.g. Yves or Boca Crumbles. I don't recommend Tofurky mince, it has too strong of a chocolate-y taste that was really weird to me).
Wow that looks so good. I do love lentils too. :) Thanks so much for sharing! I will give it a try.
Ok, gonna try this. I should be working on my thesis, but hey---trying out vegan recipes on UA-cam works too, right?
HAHA story of my college career: "Should be going to class/writing a paper/doing readings...Yeeeeah gonna cook instead."
This is One of my favorite recipes to do. Thank you
Can't wait to try this ! Thank you!!!
i grew up LOVING hotdogs now that im vegan i def want to try these out
Hope you like them if you do try! Pretty cool that they're not that bad for you. :)
A few days ago I tried to eat some meat replacements and they tasted pretty good but my mouth was drying up the entire day from the sodium...
awesome! going to try it asap
Thank you for this! Girl, seriously.... you are making my new vegan path soooooo easy! :-)
So glad I can help!
Hamburger helper was bomf asf lmao.
I know right!? Lol.
Love it too..lol
I feel like we would be good friends ;)
All of your pre-vegan food stories resonate!
And I want to try these really bad!
Omg I would love real-life vegan friends haha. And yessss for sure try these if you get a chance!
What kind of sesame oil
Japanese roasted? Or regular
I have both
