I don't understand why they throw loose gravel down with the tar ( black top ). Are they thinking it will harden the surface & last longer. I've never seen that done anywhere. Warning you should get for the truck and I’m pretty sure you already have. It is a little shot back there to vacuum up the dirt right in front of the writing right in the front of the cab just to keep it clean so when you have no choice like when you go to deliver on dirt lots your sleep on dirt watch and get out, or you can always keep it the cab part of the truck clean anyway

I remember from 2020 in that Peterbilt I saw that truck blew past you in a no passing zone and a rock smashed through your driver side window. Glad you weren’t hurt and Diesel too. Hopefully that driver got fired from the company he was driving for.
Josh, Chip sealing the TC Highway is pathetic maintenance program . I know in New Brunswick on low travelled secondary roads the NB Dept. of Transportation and Infrastructure use this method. To smooth out the cracks in the asphalt,
That is pretty crazy they throw down gravel on a main highway. Must be one big mess when the plow goes thru in Winter. Can't imagine if they did this on I-94.
You're right, of course.. but they will do whatever they do with little regard to how the results affect drivers and equipment.
That's a common problem in most places.
Josh why when you park up for the night do you leave all your lights on and your engine when you walk around the truck with other trucks parked at both sides of you when the drivers could be asleep surely you are waking them up
I'm sure their APU systems or engines are also running. Or reefers. As a truck driver, ya get used to all those noises while on the road. If you can't sleep with these distractions, trucking is not for you. Personally, the reefer trucks hum me to sleep.

I've never seen dirt parking lots and tar with gravel roads from Massachusetts (where I live) to Ohio (where my in-laws live). That has to be a Canadian thing?
Problem is people do not slow down. I hear you. And what about motorcycles? That's unsafe.
Hi Trucker Josh great video nice scenery that Truck in the video was really nice had a nice day for your Delivery I agree with you Josh about the highway's some of are Highways in Michigan are getting turned into 3 Lanes instead of keeping them 4 Lane highways a lot of people are not happy they have been taking the one lane and making a bike and walking lane other than that it's the first day of Summer and it's 82 degrees here in northern Michigan all this week the video was great stay safe god bless 😊 🙏

All the money Saskatchewan makes in fuel taxes and the like, you would think they had a better plan, hey must be asking school kids how to repave roads. All you do is mill the existing tar, and throw new asphalt down.
That's called job security if they fix it the proper way the street crow wouldn't have work

I wouldn’t be taking that car too far. I want that pulled up beside you. And car hauliers are known in the trucking world as a week home parking lot.

They call that tar and chip they do it to all the back roads in Illinois no fun especially on my Harley just glad they don’t do it to the highways lol

It's dangerous for sure, but it's the cheapest way to do it. I don't like for the same reason.

Oh that’ll make for an easy truck wash when when you get that load off one thing that surprises me about Canada and it is the fact that there’s no blue beacons anymore up here so it’s hard to get a decent truck wash

They resurface roads like that all over mn it's nothing knew there putting an new hard surface on the top not hard to understand
But it's not done on main highways like interstates and state highways. You're not considering the high speeds he mentioned.

We call that Chip Seal in Arizona. I laid Asphalt for 25 years. That stuff is only good for parking lots and driveways not interstates. Hey from Tucson!

Looks like Regina is on the boom town.
It's because it is a cheap fix. It saves from putting down new asphalt. It's a terrible way to fix a major road. Maybe a secondary road but not a major route.

I agree with you about the gravel road. But please, please stop talking about it being a cheaper way to repair highways. Someone here in the states may hear it and start doing it. So please don't mention it again. Just remember that you also drive in the states as well.
I definitely see why you didn't want to show us your new load with all that mud. To be honest with you, it's very disrespectful to all drivers there for the very reasons you stated. I am definitely on your side on this.❤

Saw a guy just recently driving with his right bare foot up on the dash, his phone in his left hand and steering with his right hand. I'm a trucker as well, and cannot imagine how this guy could possibly react quickly enough in an emergency situation. he is a fool and an accident just waiting to happen.
Hopefully his vehicle is smarter than him.
