Hey Josh, my two cents on the sound, it is much, much better on the GoPro the way you had it before. This new microphone sounds like your in a tunnel, not great at all.
The new mic sounds like you're on speaker or something and Ol'Blue's sound is reduced to a high pitched whistle which is almost painful to listen to. Or I'm just over sensitive. But I think the mic is too far away from your mouth. Most ppl clip it to their shirt. Why don't you? But then Ol'Blue probably won't be heard at all 🤔
Hey Josh great video....I like the other microphone on the Go Pro....and with the new yeah you can't hear any noise with the new one for sure.... rubber side up driver! Be safe ....great family Josh Theo is growing right up God bless Josh you and your family!
I personally don't like the new mic. We can hear you without your raising your voice, which is nice, but the audio is not as good, and we can't hear the truck. When you opened the window, the mic was picking up too much of the high pitched noises, making a consistent eerie noise that forced me to turn your volume way down.
I think both microphones are now active, hence the strange sound effects. The remote mike should do nicely on its own. Try to turn off the Gopros internal microphone. But besides that : nice video !
Hey josh the other way is alot better I don’t like the way the sound is with the microphone sounds like you’re talking into a can i like hearing the sounds of the truck thanks stay safe brother
Hey 👋, Josh! You must really like the Smokey and The Bandit movie series. lol. I’m Andrew. I frankly like this mic compared to the camera one. But why don’t you just clip the mic to your shirt?
One of my favourite lines from the “Eastbound and Down“ is: “We’ve got a long way to go, and a short time to get there.“ That no doubt applies to trucking although from Steinbach it is faster to drive to Drayton, if not travelling through the contiguous US, via taking of the Trans-Canada Highway from Northern Ontario before continuing south on Highway 400 and getting off at Highway 9 to head west to Wellington County Road 11 to the southwest before hitting County Road 8. Avoiding driving through the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area is IMO impractical although avoiding driving too far into the most populated parts of the GTHA is very much doable. The population of the GTHA in 2021 was just under 7.3 million in an area of just under 8250 km², with just under 2.8 million people spread out over just over 600 km² in Toronto proper. Back then Toronto’s population density had been somewhere in the 4000s per square kilometre, with that of the GTHA as a whole just under 850 per square kilometre. By comparison Tokyo Prefecture, with a total area of just under 2200 km², had as of earlier this year a population density of over 6000 per square kilometre with a population of almost 14.2 million, almost 1,000,000 more than, as of 2021, the entire population of Southern Ontario, even with the Muskoka and Parry Sound districts included, in an area much smaller.
@@wainber1 That’s what I was totally thinking 😁😂😅! When those movies used to be on tbs my Dad and I would watch them. I have a dvd of all three movies. At least I think I still have it. It might be at my parents’ house. I might not have packed it when I moved out in 2021.
@@abkeener81 I also think of claims Trucker Josh has in past videos made of a preference to not deliver to big cities. That he had put "Toronto" in the title of, as of, Eastern Daylight Time, the final Sunday of September 2024, his then-most-recent video he had posted to his channel, other than just for subscribers or paid members of his channel, had not meant, before I had ever heard of Drayton, that he would necessarily delivering in Toronto proper; indeed, after I had searched for Drayton in Apple Maps I had found a driving route, if using the Trans-Canada Highway from Manitoba, that, were he to have punched it into a compatible device, he would have found would not have required him to drive all the way into Toronto proper just to drive into the Southwestern Ontario town.
Enjoy your video's. I used to drive for Halvor lines out of Superior Wisconsin. Retired now but your video's reminds of the love/hate relationship I had with otr trucking...😅
With the microphone pinned in those areas, you sound like you're in a tin can. When you spoke into it close up, you sounded clear. Personally, I'd rather hear ya shout so we can also hear the truck. Lol. But if you go the microphone route, may I recommend wearing it on your shirt? Just so you're not sounding like you're talking to us with 2 tin cans and a rope. 😉 Stay safe!
Ontario build a full 4-lane unrestricted highway, you say? And take away all those freebies from the tsunami of immigrants in Toronto? And you call yourself a Canadian? Uncle Justin is sorely disappointed in you.
Old sound was better - This Mic has Sound isolation and mess the ambient / Back ground sound - I think it works better if its very close to your mouth and then we will NOT hear the back ground / Truck sound.
Everyone else has mentioned the mic, so no need for me to comment, however, I’ve noticed that HomeHardware have a big presence in Canada, I used to do deliveries for them before I retired, I believe they are a Canadian company. Drive safely buddy 👍🏻🇬🇧
Well, I picked the challenge to put my finances in order. Then I invested in cryptocurrency, stocks, through the assistance of my discretionary fund manager
If you wanted to be super technological, you could record a lav microphone track and record the go pro track and then blend them in your editing software. 😋. The only issue you might have is making sure the voice is in sync on both tracks. That particular microphone is a bit canny though.
Sounds like your far far away.....in a tunnel , underground somewhere.... or in a rocket ship, although that would be very cool.......but still very annoying!! Hello from Toronto!!
Hey, Josh... Sory, but I didn't like the audio from that mic; it made you sound like you were speaking under water...!! 😄 Love to you, Brit & Theo! 🇮🇪❤🇨🇦
New video sound with an external microphone is not good quality. There must be something wrong on new microphone. I would imagine that most viewers of your videos won't be bothered by the sound of a truck engine.
You might want to try clipping it to your shirt. These mics also pick up resonance, the vibration of your voice in your throat and chest, that adds a little more low frequency to your voice. Clipped to the door, it might actually be picking up vibration from the truck, which is what 'thins out' your voice. Mic placement is an ongoing experiment.. every mic sounds different, in different locations.
1) have you thought of putting the mike on your shirt? I bet that when Wal-Mart closed its parking lot to trucks, they took a good percentage of the available truck parking space in town, and we must remember that in Northern Ontario towns are hard to come by.
Hey Josh, you’re coming to my neck of the woods hope you have a great trip! I miss the sound of the truck microphones OK but I enjoyed the pipes and the truck. God bless.🤠 12:05
Dryden ontario my home town lol thats awesome I'm always looking for you on highway and yes typical dryden pot holes lol loving the sound of that turbo and engine break kinda gets me going lol heavy load?
Josh, Greeting fom Wilwood, Florida. Thats where home was for me tonight. I concur with all the other comments, microphone sound is not as good as with the Gopro. Stay safe driver. Like the new tattoo
Hey Josh just my 2 cents for whatever that's worth I would just stick to the way you had it before. Using the new mic is picking up the turbo whistle which is so high pitched it's brutal on the ears.
wireless mic sounds flat, it also picks up far too much turbo and not enough stack. once you moved it to the roof it was much with the stacks/turbo distribution, your voice remained just a little flat/tinny sounding
See if you can get the new microphone dialed in. I was one of the people complaining about the volume differences with your other setup. Like the others are saying, this one sounds way too tinny! Stay safe...
Josh, the audio makes it sound like you are in a pipe...go back to the other method. As for how the entitled folks ruin it for others, it's simple, blame their parents.
Like the old audio better like to hear old blue whistle but if it saves your voice won’t put me off watching you every day take it easy mate from the northeast of England
The wireless microphone 🎤 is tinty. Maybe try clipping it on your seatbelt on the front of your shoulder maybe it would be better. We are so used to the gopro with no external mic it just sounds odd.
The mic sounded a lot better when you leaned toward it while at your coffee break. Perhaps you could clip it to the front of your collar while driving?
The new mic my first thought was you were doing a voiceover, I think the gopro is better but yelling at the camera is not good for you so keep the mic.
Boston Pizza is about to become and Anniversary dinner thing. Happy Anniversary Yeah the gopro sound is better with the truck noise. The mic on the headliner is a little better but still not as good as the gopro. Stay safe
You’re a little fire in your your little fire behind in your blogs there, bud not complaining and things just pile up but I just finished the one where you’re waiting for your reload to come home. You’re a little far behind in a little out of order there but I’m not complaining a blog is a blog, like I said, hope you had a good weekend and time to get back to the road
Well, that’s probably why is I’d rather risk the cruise your drivers. And less wear and tear on the truck then more passing lanes but more wear and tear in the truck. I’d rather do what you’re doing less wear and tear on the truck might take a little longer but it’s worth it.
Not sure if you saw that, but there was another one of your coworkers at the fuel stop to yell at deacons corner her there is a western star. It was a company truck with a skateboard hooked to it, loaded the camera pick them up just as he drove by.
Camera microphone sounds so much better. The wireless mike sounds tinny. Take care and drive safely.
Hey Josh, my two cents on the sound, it is much, much better on the GoPro the way you had it before. This new microphone sounds like your in a tunnel, not great at all.
Yeah, the audio out of the GoPro is better because then you can hear the truck
Agree

The mic honestly drives me crazy it leaves an echo sucks whether I use headphones or not. And I miss the truck sound. I don’t like it just my feedback
Hey Josh great video....I like the other microphone on the Go Pro....and with the new yeah you can't hear any noise with the new one for sure.... rubber side up driver! Be safe ....great family Josh Theo is growing right up God bless Josh you and your family!
painful audio Josh!!!! == Yep, 11 is known now as Flip Flopers Highway. == 17 is for SKILLED TRUCKERS!!!
I personally don't like the new mic. We can hear you without your raising your voice, which is nice, but the audio is not as good, and we can't hear the truck. Truck noise adds to the ride along experience.
Hey josh the other way is alot better I don’t like the way the sound is with the microphone sounds like you’re talking into a can i like hearing the sounds of the truck thanks stay safe brother
I dont like the new microphone. Too tinny and I cant hear the truck sounds as well.
I like the truck sound (background) better.
Most of us that have a grown-up around trucks like myself we know what you’re talking about
Hey 👋, Josh! You must really like the Smokey and The Bandit movie series. lol. I’m Andrew.

Nice tattoo, Hey Josh ,Britt ,Theo hope you had a blessed day and happy anniversary to you both God bless you both and many more Josh be safe!!
I know what you mean about garbage. I see it all the time. Why people can't walk their junk to a garbage can is beyond me.

Thanks for the nice mellow ride today Josh.
I don't like the audio, it sounds like you are talking into a box.
Horrible audio with the mic, bro!
Ontario build a full 4-lane unrestricted highway, you say? And take away all those freebies from the tsunami of immigrants in Toronto? And you call yourself a Canadian? Uncle Justin is sorely disappointed in you.
…..huh?
Greeting from Croatia I have family in Toronto I need go there before 4 years but corona stop all 😅

The retirement crisis is getting worse and the economy is so messed up to start investing right away.
Well, I picked the challenge to put my finances in order. Then I invested in cryptocurrency, stocks, through the assistance of my discretionary fund manager
Julie Alma Stevens
This is correct, Julie's strategy has normalized winning trades for me also and it’s a huge milestone for me looking back to how it all started
Julie has an exceptional ability to capitalize on opportunities created by economic changes. Her skills are top-notch.
Yes, I agree with you. Her platform is wonderful and her strategies are exceptional
Drive safe

You always get tired early first day back (gotten used to regular sleeping times), you should probably always factor that in when route planning?
1) have you thought of putting the mike on your shirt?

Can't hear you argueing with Karen on new mike. Tbh, I prefer the Gopro as I want to hear the pipes. LOL.
Josh,
Greeting fom Wilwood, Florida. Thats where home was for me tonight.
I concur with all the other comments, microphone sound is not as good as with the Gopro.
Stay safe driver.

Sorry but new mic sounds like a voice over . Always enjoy your vlogs . Viewer from southwest Ontario

Is the wireless mic clipped to your shirt? Sounds like a mic imbalance. Souns like the mic is several feet away from your mouth.
It sounded like a tin can until you moved it to your roof. Perfect Josh! Stay amazing!!
Please go back to your go pro mic. I miss the background sounds - "old Blues 2 cents"!
Yep, that's the way to go, Hwy 11. I love Nipigon. My dad took us there when we were kids and I got my love for the northwoods there.
Please!!!!!!! Loose the microphone. That is the most annoying thing ever. To the point it is unwatchable.
Not a fan of the new microphone, too much high pitched tones, not enough mid and low tones. Miss the real sound of the truck!
Voice is sort of 50/50. Voice is clearer but truck sounds are horrible. My thoughts microphone on the door is much better.
New mic sounds bad. Sound like you are talking thru a toilet paper tube.....
The wireless microphone 🎤 is tinty. Maybe try clipping it on your seatbelt on the front of your shoulder maybe it would be better. We are so used to the gopro with no external mic it just sounds odd.

Josh , that last pot hole could swallow an SUV. You need to get on writing that letter man. No excuses for business not to repair that lot.
My vote is for NO microphone! It sounds better the other way!!!
Sounds like you're talking into a tin can. Just sayin'. Safe drive!
Lose the microphone Josh , you sound like Daffy Duck. 😂
Audio is bad ... had to stop watching. Go back to the other one.
Boston Pizza is about to become and Anniversary dinner thing.
Happy Anniversary
Yeah the gopro sound is better with the truck noise.
The mic on the headliner is a little better but still not as good as the gopro.
Stay safe
Sorry I missed your visit to Drayton, only live 30 minutes from there.
It's definitely better without the microphone Josh.
Josh, The Mike sounds fantastic 🎉. Keep using it.
Now that you open the window I could hear you turbos and some tire wines otherwise sound is 5x5
Love to do microphone keep up the good work at least I can hear you and I don't hear that truck
You’re a little fire in your your little fire behind in your blogs there, bud not complaining and things just pile up but I just finished the one where you’re waiting for your reload to come home. Personally I don’t like the new mic set up
Honestly I liked it better the other way I want to hear old blue sing
If you have time in North Bay would love to buy you coffee
Go back to the go pro audio, it's alot better. Keep on trucking
Not sure if you saw that, but there was another one of your coworkers at the fuel stop to yell at deacons corner her there is a western star. It was a company truck with a skateboard hooked to it, loaded the camera pick them up just as he drove by.
LOVE the new mic, we can hear you sooo much better
See if you can pin it to your seat belt. Just an Idea.
More truck noise Less trucker Please and thank you
The audio is terrible with that microphone
Just saw where the mic is, clip it on your t shirt.
when you got closer to the mic it sounded better
Well, that’s probably why they don’t want to go to fast kids the faster they go the more they’ll have to go to the bathroom lol
Another vote in favour of the GoPro mic.
I think I’ve said this before but I’d be putting a ball bar on all blue just in case
Some nice person sent you a cheap microphone.
That's not a pothole, it's a crater!
I am the choir Trucker Josh 99%
Definitely love to hear Old Blue!
The Audio is better with The GoPro
Toronto is brutal to drive through
Nope on the new mic. Not good at all.
Audio sounds like crap.
The phone mike sounds better.
I think it's worse with the new mic
What kind of engine do you have?
Yeah, that would be 5857 somewhere in there
I need truck noise!.......Cheers.
you need to bull snot the windshield
How's a Jake break work on a semi?
sounds like your in a tube.
Sounds perfect Josh
