You guys are amazing!!
OHHH YURRRRRR!!!
I prefer covers like this one, without any stick showoff, and without any unnecessary fills, this is as good as original, respect!
Exactamente!
To be fair, there isn’t much room for fills in this song......
Should I consider the drums too, have you seen Dave Lombardo's?
but he also didnt play robot-like, and still added his own style in this song.
Ya- often there are covers who replicate it as best as possible and others make the song their own- they’re both good
Could you imagine Slayer perform a 3hr concert how much endurance to play with that intensity.
I've been in the audience a few times and it took some stamina. Haha
To stand there and watch the drummer or to be the drummer?
@@mrpandasian8871 being the drummer
Slayer plays 1.5 hour sets, not 3 hour lol
people used to say its just noise you cant understand what there saying my reply was its because your not listening
I cannot believe that Dave still survived all of that footwork, and he still survives it today.
So you don't know huh?
Tomas Haake: Laughs in Bleed
Dave is the best
Dave is a fucking machine bro, he ain't human lol
This is not "Cover".
.
This is a REMASTERED!!! \m/
(Great work)

The original mix wasn't half bad
@@5usp3c7it was pretty clean to my ears, honestly don't see a lot of flaws, except i wish the bass was louder but it's not bat at all
@@wavedgalaxy the snare sounded like it had less attack than it needed.
My legs hurt watching this
Your legs might fall off if you watch someone play meshuggas "bleed" then :)
Tristi nah, George kollias or Flo bro
Check out Fleshgod Apacolypse - The Violation, then come back if you at that point can even remember what legs *are* :)
You think this is bad? Look up Cuntcrusher by Infant Inhilator (I forgot how to spell it😂)
My shins are about to cramp (the scream at the beginning) aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
And you gotta respect the fact that this was written in 1986.. Pretty incredible!
Insert back to the future reference
@The Logical Twat metal started WAY before 86
@The Logical Twit Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Blue Cheer, Blue Oyster Cult, Steppenwolf, Uriah Heap, Stooges, Thin Lizzy, Nazareth... Etc
The Logical Twit Thrash came around during the early ‘80s, yes. 1983 saw Heavy Metal Maniac, Kill ‘Em All, and Show No Mercy, so as far as I can tell, it was the birth year of Thrash.
Look up some of the drum solo's Buddy Rich was doing clear back before color TV was even a thing and then realize he's a JAZZ drummer playing with that kind of power and complexity as well as endurance and you'll be just as impressed. Not comparing Buddy to Dave but Buddy set the bar pretty fucking high for every drummer to follow. Some of the heavier more complex music we have today was at least party influenced and driven by him and other drummer of the past that had skill sets above and beyond what people will ever be able to truly appreciate.
I love the groove at 2:18, always have and always will
Dude, sick play through. I have been a guitarist my whole life and always wanted to try drums. I’ve watched so many of your videos/tutorials and I can say that my electric set is on the way now!!! Your channel is so inspiring!!So stoked!!!! OOOOOOOHHHHH YURRRRRRRR
hell yeah Drew!!!!! and thank you man
And to think that Lombardo did this without triggers, and played it live without triggers... Insane.
Samus can play it without triggers. It's not actually that hard without triggered compared to death metal songs.
no it's not insane. stop
@@arungeorge2285 I'm sure he can. But can he do the double bass consistent and well?
@@SgtStingerI remembered Slayer refused to engage Raymond HERRERA (Fear Factory) after Seasons in the Abyss and before Divine Intervention when they searched for a new drummer to replace Dave because Kerry and Jeff dislike trigger drummers. They preferred Paul BOSTAPH and this one has work so hard to huge improve his speed and endurance double bass drum technique...
With triggers, you must be precise too. Triggers don't mean easier for any drummer. You must kick each sound too 😉
@@DamZZmaD Yes, you must be precise in time with triggers. But with triggers each hit doesn't need to be as consistently hard as without triggers, and that is why triggered double bass specifically is easier than consistent non-triggered double bass.
0:43 FINALLY someone made the double Snare stroke.
Alisson Silva where abouts? Minutes and seconds please
Is before. / É antes
0:40
that my be daves most important detail in his drumming. and to top top it off i think he only uses the left hand to do the double stroke. Simply awesome!
It's not a double stroke.
4:38 Always my favorite part never got sick of this since 86 still a killer track in 2020=This track is timeless!
Yep, definitely a killer double bass solo :)
My head hurts thinking about how I used to VIOLENTLY bang my head to this. One of my favorite songs of all time of any genre.
Wait..... there are other musical genres????
Yup, me too. Arthritis tells me I can’t do that anymore.
the "money riff" at 1:59 still grabs me by the balls to this day.

Gremlins 2 :)
Just jump two seconds before: 01:57 to enter *the best fill-in in the whole metal history* .

SLAYTANIC
This is one of the cleanest Double Bass Ever!
Because of the triggers...
This is history man! Is unbelievable thinking that this song was written in 1986, no one had ever played drums like this before!
Charlie was doing some fast stuff with sod and anthrax
Well I guess if Josh Steffen won’t do it somebody has to
OOF
He did it it’s just “private” because people get ass hurt and complain to UA-cam that it’s “offensive”
I like Josh Steffen.
Mike Finocchiaro No, he said he’d do it when he gets to a patreon goal
nitt I disagree. While Samus might be better at blast beating or long double bass runs, he has no real style. Josh has his own unique style and knows how to groove, and he’s great at double bass too (check his Dyers Eve vid).
Those toms are beautiful
Eamon Ahern he uses triggers soooooo
the twonky you're not very intelligent are you?
FlakeyJakey Are you? With triggers the sound of the drums doesn’t matter because you can change the samples...
not as beautiful as TOM araya
And sound killer
Again, 66Samus, you fucking SLAY on the drums dude. Probably my new favorite drum channel. Keep rocking dude.
thank you so much William!!
2:02 like for the headbang
Seaeronyum nice pdp kit was thinkin of buying that One
3:47 Priceless!
Never heard that detail in the original tune .
lol
@General Ackbar it's not in the album, that's just the youtuber that did that
2:42 oh shittt that breakdown

My maaaan
lol
That was a brilliant cover, I love the extra kick fills during the bridge, makes it attack way harder. Still one of my favorite metal songs of all time. Much respect, well played.
A timeless thrash metal CLASSIC. No metalhead should go without this song. The bridge section is what inspired me to pick up the guitar. Hails!
I like slayer. In the 80s they were brutal before anyone else. They really paved the way for extreme metal. Man that's really awesome.
You're honestly fucking amazing dude. Keep doing what you do best!! :)
The drum patterns in this song is insane. Good job
AWESOME job! This is my favorite drum cover video I have ever seen. Your double bass is absolutely SICK! I am certain that Dave would DEFINITELY give you props on this, my friend.
Your move Mr. Steffen
lol
no comparison, not even close. like a good high school hitter going up against a major league pitcher
Who?
Steffen does not triggers... this could does not exist without triggers
This fu*king monster of a song.. is from 1986.
way ahead of their time

Hands down my favourite Slayer song
the best cover of somebody playing drums in recent times. is as good as the original. if you doubt it even better. sensational
I like Samus and this is impressive, but if we're being honest here then i'd say Dave has a more natural flow, and also didn't use triggers
And he is 50+ years old and still nails that song
Well samus plays really fast (>270 bpm, check out the 2017 shred song) and he uses heel toe, which wouldnt make every hit audible at that tempo. So triggers really aren't cheating as genres like death metal call for fast and powerful hits, not dynamics on the drums, usually.
@Jens - Also if you were to put this in a purely acoustical drum battle Dave's bass drums would much louder. Dave's old school pedals don't stay as close to the head as Samus therefore playing takes a bit more effort but you are also rewarded with a bigger bang :)
I did very much like Samus also. He did a great job of being ambidextrous. I used to do the same thing playing thrash back in the 80's. If you arm tires out - you just switch arms for a bit! I also dig his energy. I really believe he is into this. Glad to see anyone playing this music on the tube!
I like his playing but it is technically the original.
Nice work
Zimorog Band I see you everywhere
I AM everywhere :D
black metal angelic figure
Oh god it's you again
Really good cover! Solid extras tossed in without sounding too gawdy, great sound and fantastic accuracy! Shreddin' brother!
Very nice cover. I did also appreciate the changing hand of the rythmique left right left at 1:37 (for example)

The switching from leading with the right to leading with the left and back was super good, nice work! 🤘
that switching from left to right hand snaredrumming really fucks with my peabrain.

Hats off to you.
I have to say samus, at 1:58 I think speak on behalf of everyone who's watched this video when I say, you had us all headbanging along man!🤘 I love how into it you get when playing, honestly this was a masterpiece. 👌🏻
Nice job brother. Like how you get into it too. Too many drummers nowadays perform as though they're just doing a job, nothing else. When an artist gets into what they create the audience feels it too. Keep it going. 🤘👹🤘
thank you so much!!
The HAIR!!! The thrashing was the best part! I realized I was watching the hair the whole time!! HAIR CAM!!!!!
The Best Drummer Dave Lombardo.

Nope Lombardo dont use triggers
@@davidmorneau5260triggers are actually harder to play with because you have to be more precise with triggers cause they pick up every mistake you make.
@@Fieldyfan94 But its also harder to play without them cause you will sound sluggish without the right techniques.
All the subtleties are gone, all the raw power are gone, all the ghost notes are gone.
Every drummers sound the same with all the generic and boring pluggins...
@@davidmorneau5260 not necessarily it depends on how you set it up gene hoglan uses triggers Charlie benante use’s them all the time the both have they’re own feel so it depends. the people that put the beater like a inch from the heads and max out the sensitivity those are lame.
fantastic rolls, solid cover, the sound of these drums and cymbals, beautiful. The best sounding kit on the tube. those kicks, like a minigun!
Dude, you are wicked on the drums. Best I've seen on UA-cam for a long time
This is absolutely fucking perfect. Your setup sounds so beautiful.
The only drummer that can headbang while playing like a beast.
The switch from left to right during this tempo is impressive!
Well done, Sir !
So impressed dude! You're headbanging fiercely at the same time! Such rhythm and coordination is impressive. I wish I could do that but have not the skill. Kudos.
You should have put a “Come at Me Josh” in the Description
;)
Josh Steffen holy shit, Hey Josh!
wouldn't win the hair challenge (yet)
What if Josh is just waiting to grow his hair longer than Samus had it in this video?
God this just convinced me that 80s Slayer with 2010s recording, mixing & mastering would actually impregnate my ears.
