@eliseo5416 I haven't seen the Brazil episode but in TV and movies there are shots that are edited to appear as a single take, although individual scenes can have many different cuts. the pim turns green episode was absolutely hilarious to me, i read the episode description before i saw it and kept waiting for him to turn green and it just didn't happen. i love this show.
when he said that mr boss was his least favourite of the main cast, it seriously pissed. me. off. it’s simply a sacrilegious, idiotic statement to proclaim after all the silliness and gags that mr boss has gracefully given us. you, shafrilla sir will *NEVER* BE FORGIVEN FOR YOUR IMPOTENT BEHAVIOIR
My favorite detail about the Brazil episode is the plane’s impending crash on the mountain, implying that the airport is about to lock down and the Smiling Friends will be stranded.
You’ve neglected to mention the hilarious descriptions for the episodes on HBOmax, particularly in season 2. The alien episode’s being a carbon copy of Mars Needs Moms’s Wikipedia summary, just replacing the boy with Pim, made me laugh out loud for minutes straight.
Fun fact: The reason Mr Boss sounds so flat in the Brazil special, is because they literally called his voice actor without telling him beforehand, that ENTIRE phone call was improve at its finest
someone once mentioned that the reason mr. frog got cancelled wasnt because he tried to eat someone, but that people hated him for not eating him because its his bit, so when he eats the producer at the end people love him because he finally saw it through.
15:18 The Spamtopia episode is also one of my faves because it pays off a seemingly disconnected plot thread from S1 (the Simon S. Salty episode). During the fun twins interview, Charlie doesn't understand what they're saying but Pim does because he can speak Spamish. The twins also acid spit on him seemingly randomly until you realize they did it because Pim made direct eye contact with them which is a sign of disrespect and the only rule in Spamtopia that's punishable by death
Alan is actually the accountant which is why he doesn't really show any interest in making people smile, that's just not his job. It also explains why Pim and Charlie wear clothes but Alan and Glep are naked most of the time, critters like them prefer not to wear clothes, but Pim and Charlie have to meet a lot of other species so they wear clothes to make them more comfortable, but since Alan and Glep works in the office, they don't have to do that.
About the helium bit It was 100% true when the episode aired, but recently another source was found, so when the episode aired you did actually go "Holy shit thats actually true"
The plane going down at the end of the Brazil episode implies that they are not going to make the flight from Terminal 2 since the airport would probably shut down in light of the crash. So they're REALLY screwed.
I think my problem is he's so vague about everything, and it's not even necessarily subjective, he makes objective claims, he just doesn't back them up
My favorite detail in the enchanted forest episode is after being pushed onto the spike Mip says Pim should tell the princess that the gift is from him. The first time you watch the episode you assume that this is Mip forgiving Pim and making amends, but on rewatch it’s clear that he wants Pim to be the one to take the blame when the bomb goes off
I like when you mention the innocent clients like princess and Desmond don't suffer It really does make me realize if they were Family Guy characters, they would not only suffer, they would die horribly or involve rape cause apparently that's so funny to the writers
The Mr. Boss breastfeeding scene in the pilot is legit the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions Smiling Friends. If my brain organized media like a streaming service, that would be the show's thumbnail. I wouldn't classify it as the funniest bit, but I would unironically call the most iconic moment of the show up to this point. To me, that was where I knew the show was going to be something special.

The debate section of the president episode is one of my favourites. Specifically because of the way the voice actor for the worm says "Times up, plus you're wrong." Sends me every time.
18:28 the title is a reference to the fact that Michael Cusack had been saying that he wanted Pim to be the color green, but Zach Hadel vetoed it because the it would make the pair vomit color. Its another case of the title and description being completely unrelated to the episode
The joke about Mr. Man’s (The tooth guy) Puerto Ricans comment in the Frowning Friends episode is that his voice actor, Lyle Rath, is actually of Puerto Rican heritage, so there’s actually more thought put into it than just being an edgy out of pocket joke
Mr Boss is my most consistently funny character. I think this is a testament to the differing types of comedy they are able to cram into a cohesive unit.
Well, I don’t know what that commenter fellow over there is saying, but I believe Schaffrillas should try to win back the marketplace with a more competitive business model.
The "Pin finally turns green" title is because Pim was originally supposed to be Green, but they scrapped the idea when it didn't mesh well on screen. So they had him wear a Green shirt, hence he "turned Green"
Zach did day that, but do NOT believe him! Half of what they say in the commentary isn't true as part of a joke, and I don't believe they would actually draw him as green.
It's so funny hearing someone who seemingly doesn't know about Zach Hadel's humor outside of the series because a lot of things that schaffrillas didn't get or found funny are hilarious to people who knows his insane obsession with weird concepts like worms, extremely specific but nonsensical titles, weird fake games like mouse quest, an extreme obsession with anti-jokes that are only funny because of the way it's delivered and bizarre references to his old work like the boss breastfeeding his adult son and him getting a magical red jewel.
am I the only one annoyed that the Salty episode didn't conclude with them deciding grease was the murderer since he died of a heart attack? felt like they were building up to that with the whole "I didn't do it but I could have bit" and it would be really funny because that was the only character who didn't actively try to
You can tell Schaff never tiped his toes into the freakshow part of the internet because he didn't get the president joke at all. And honestly I'm glad he never did.
Funny thing about the Doug Walker cameo, I was at a con when it happened, and the cosplay i planned for the next day was a nostalgia critic one, so his appearance definitely made it more topical for me.
one joke i really liked from the lowest ranking episode is the money president joke where the president gave everybody an equal amount of dollars, which destroyed the economy. his delivery is what makes it for me
"This is the most obnoxious thing I've ever experienced in my life." "We were RIGHT THERE, man!" Both fantastic quotes are from the same episode, I was expecting them to feature. Oh well.
I love how when Schaffrilas tries to imitate Pim and his Australian accent, he instead does this completely wrong, received pronunciation British accent, it's hysterical.

There's this one interview with Zach Hadel where he says how the show is not trying to do anthing. Except for the what the name of the show is. It's a show that wants to make you smile and nothing else and if it does that what else does it really need in an episode. If you smile, then the episode has fulfilled it's purpose
The best part about smiling friends was that they were able to work with the famed celebrity Rich Evans and get him to voice a wacky alien they conceived

the pim turns green episode was absolutely hilarious to me, i read the episode description before i saw it and kept waiting for him to turn green and it just didn't happen. i love this show.
when he said that mr boss was his least favourite of the main cast, it seriously pissed. me. off. it’s simply a sacrilegious, idiotic statement to proclaim after all the silliness and gags that mr boss has gracefully given us. you, shafrilla sir will *NEVER* BE FORGIVEN FOR YOUR IMPOTENT BEHAVIOIR
Take his statements with a grain of salt; I did. All of this is just his personal opinion.
My favorite detail about the Brazil episode is the plane’s impending crash on the mountain, implying that the airport is about to lock down and the Smiling Friends will be stranded.
The inside joke of the "weird shaped head" guy wanting to kill all the Puerto Ricans is that he's voiced by Lyle Rath, who is Puerto Rican
up there with old Glep saying Christianity was true, because tomar is Jewish irl

I can’t be held responsible for what’s about to happen
Even worse then when he said he didn’t like Willow from The Owl House
He really didn’t like the breastfeeding gag. It’s cooked
FR Mr. Boss has always been one of the funniest characters to me 😭😭
Funny how the enchanted forest is probably my least favourite episode too
"well, friends, we've done it."
"gotta say, I can't stop smiling."
"say that again."
“That again.”
No bot
me turning off the tv after charlie says "well gang, we helped that friend smile.. he's a smiling friend now!"
The real intro was the smiling friends we made along the way
@Tiger10002cringe
About the helium bit
It was 100% true when the episode aired, but recently another source was found, so when the episode aired you did actually go "Holy shit thats actually true"
I mean it's like how we always say peak oil is right around the corner
"Tomar what would you do if the animated crab from Moana ranked every episode of wacky cartoon you were a voice actor in?"
*Hello, Justin Y* 👋
The return of a king
YOU'RE BACK???
It's him!
you... i thought you were dead
The plane going down at the end of the Brazil episode implies that they are not going to make the flight from Terminal 2 since the airport would probably shut down in light of the crash. So they're REALLY screwed.
I never disagreed with a ranking more, really shows how subjective humor and smiling friends is
Honestly i feel like he put Mr President last because he doesn't like irl politics
@@MacenWeh, I don’t get that vibe from him, but maybe I don’t know him as well as you.
I think my problem is he's so vague about everything, and it's not even necessarily subjective, he makes objective claims, he just doesn't back them up
My favorite detail in the enchanted forest episode is after being pushed onto the spike Mip says Pim should tell the princess that the gift is from him. The first time you watch the episode you assume that this is Mip forgiving Pim and making amends, but on rewatch it’s clear that he wants Pim to be the one to take the blame when the bomb goes off
I like when you mention the innocent clients like princess and Desmond don't suffer
It really does make me realize if they were Family Guy characters, they would not only suffer, they would die horribly or involve rape cause apparently that's so funny to the writers
Schaffrillas, do you want to hang out with me and smoke weed and fill our bellies with diet soda and play Burnout Revenge for the PS2?
WELL SAID!!!! It’s like he forgot the impact that scene has the first time people see it lol. So good.
20:15 Just love the background joke that's in a couple of episodes that Glep has a smoking hot blonde girlfriend
That’s his wife, Marge Simpson.
Made me jelly no cap, same with Shrimp’s face eating bit with big yitties Jennifer 🥲
Girlfriend? That’s Glep’s WIFE bro. Marge Simpson.
Her name is Marge Simpson, and she is his wife (from the first Halloween special)
I still can't believe the boss would even dare to think about firing tyler. It pisses me off, man
that was the moment i stopped watching smiling friends, tyler carried the entire show 😡
I didn’t like Tyler personally from that one episode where he did that one thing. It left a really bad taste in my mouth man

@@cookimaus1 hey dude I just rewatched it and apparently Tyler actually DIDNT do the thing so yeah mb other then that great character I’m sad he got fires
The president episode's quality really depends on how funny you find this version of the president. I thought he was hilarious, so it's actually one of my favorites.
Yep, the episode grew on me a ton once I got the president's "vibe"
@@CloudMountainJuror His delivery that makes it clear that he basically doesn't even know what his own words mean as he says them just kills me. Also his habit of randomly pointing and throwing "thank you" onto the end of sentences.
yeah its literally zacks style of humor too, he loves weird people like that. The fact that he has no charm IS what makes him so funny
same one of my favs
Everyone loves the episode, this is actually the only time disliking it has ever been mentioned, and it actually flopped the whole video
“I love Schafrillas ranking videos, Charlie! I love Schafrillas ranking videoooooos!”
"Pim maybe you shouldn't be screaming that at the top of your lungs"
The debate section of the president episode is one of my favourites. Specifically because of the way the voice actor for the worm says "Times up, plus you're wrong." Sends me every time.
I never disagree with these lists, but this was tough to get on board with
18:28 the title is a reference to the fact that Michael Cusack had been saying that he wanted Pim to be the color green, but Zach Hadel vetoed it because the it would make the pair vomit color. Its another case of the title and description being completely unrelated to the episode
I love how the creators just lie sometimes
The joke about Mr. Man’s (The tooth guy) Puerto Ricans comment in the Frowning Friends episode is that his voice actor, Lyle Rath, is actually of Puerto Rican heritage, so there’s actually more thought put into it than just being an edgy out of pocket joke
That’s cool to know, as a Puerto Rican I felt represented by that episode lol
Mr Boss is my most consistently funny character. I think this is a testament to the differing types of comedy they are able to cram into a cohesive unit.
YES! Thank you!!! When I got to that part I was so sad dude :(
@@MilkintheMicrowaver same he’s by far my favorite character
Marc M was my favorite MeatCanyon contributor....his voice acting is perfect, although the context is usually horrible
Joel Haver is fucking hilarious and I’m glad he got a chance to shine in the show.
Smiling friends is basically adult amazing world of gumball humor and I love it
Schaffrillas should really get a Peanut Jig of his own. Yes, a peanut jig of his own.
Wow, what a great idea! NOT!
Well, I don’t know what that commenter fellow over there is saying, but I believe Schaffrillas should try to win back the marketplace with a more competitive business model.
None of you are any help! Get out! Get OUT!!!
@@mikeyes620that would be hilarious but a character changing color that isn’t like a skin tone isn’t that uncommon
@@mikeyes620Even if it’s a joke, I take it as canon. Everything they spew is absurd enough to be featured in this show
Honestly, when I saw the title before actually watching the episode, I figured Pim was retiring. This would make him Green and Retired.
I feel like the episode title and description were wrong, some other sites list it with other names, but it probably stayed as a funny bit
18:35 the episode name is a reference to the fact that Pim's early designs had his skin color green instead of pink
am I the only one annoyed that the Salty episode didn't conclude with them deciding grease was the murderer since he died of a heart attack? felt like they were building up to that with the whole "I didn't do it but I could have bit" and it would be really funny because that was the only character who didn't actively try to
Fun fact: Pim knowing Spamish is a callback to Charlie asking Pim how he understood the fun twins in the Salty episode
You can tell Schaff never tiped his toes into the freakshow part of the internet because he didn't get the president joke at all. And honestly I'm glad he never did.
the president reminded me of Chris Chan a lot
In other words, Schaff is a normie.
@@nagger8216Maybe it's for the best.
What was the joke I just thought it was a weird dude
@@nooneofvalue5531 It could be that he's got a similar vibe to lol cows like Chris Chan but I'm not sure
Funny thing about the Doug Walker cameo, I was at a con when it happened, and the cosplay i planned for the next day was a nostalgia critic one, so his appearance definitely made it more topical for me.
Screw Doug walker...

Does anyone else think smiling friends has a similar feel to regular show in the way of these characters trying to live life in a "normal world"?
I do.
one joke i really liked from the lowest ranking episode is the money president joke where the president gave everybody an equal amount of dollars, which destroyed the economy. his delivery is what makes it for me
“im gonna be the money president. each and every one of you is gonna get a billion dollars each, so you can all be rich!”
Also when he turned back to his phone it's literally just a reverse shot of him turning to Pim
Worth mentioning the Spanish bit in the egg episode is made by the actual actors of the Latin Spanish dub.
Calling an entire live action twilight zone parody that frames an episode "unfunny filler" was a wild take what the hell
it would've been funnier if they actually got Dan Aykroyd to do it
"This is the most obnoxious thing I've ever experienced in my life."
"We were RIGHT THERE, man!"
Both fantastic quotes are from the same episode, I was expecting them to feature. Oh well.
I love how when Schaffrilas tries to imitate Pim and his Australian accent, he instead does this completely wrong, received pronunciation British accent, it's hysterical.

Yeah a lot of the time, we assume youtubers watch youtube -- I don't think its the case here.
Schafrillas does know who he is. He calls him "Joel" in this video, when the character isn't called that in the show.
12:42 the fact that it's Salad Fingers' voice actor as well is hilarious
the most replayed part of the video is the end of the sponsorship LOL
Being an Oneyplays fan really gives you a whole other layer of understanding to many of the jokes and one liners, a lot of them are call backs to events and play through episodes from like a decade ago. It’s cool to see perspectives and opinions from people likely not familiar with oneyplays or Zach as a deeper person and his comedic personality.
Same
30:23 Ok can we just talk about how good Schaff’s impression of Allan is?
His normal voice already sounds like him. Also it doesn't
There's this one interview with Zach Hadel where he says how the show is not trying to do anthing. Except for the what the name of the show is. It's a show that wants to make you smile and nothing else and if it does that what else does it really need in an episode. If you smile, then the episode has fulfilled it's purpose
In other words, the show was the real Smiling Friend all along
Honestly, I think for now there are no bad episodes of Smiling Friends. Even the "worst" ones are still enjoyable
Someone needs to introduce this guy to Joel Haver stat, it’s a crime he doesn’t understand the cameo. 😂
The best part about smiling friends was that they were able to work with the famed celebrity Rich Evans and get him to voice a wacky alien they conceived
Justin omg missed seeing you

Agreed I was surprised how many people put the episode towards the end of their ranking
That's easily one of the funniest episodes what is this guy SMOKING
That’s and a Allen episode were my two favs in season 2
"I'm going to be the money president" and him finally admitting that he's not cut out for the job and doesn't want it were my favorite parts. (Also I think the post credits scene is why Glep voted for Mr. Frog)
@@enthiegavoir5955 That ending speech might be my favorite single section of dialogue in the entire show. I am constantly thinking about how he says “And to all the people who, _trolled_ me. And sent me, nahsty messages:”
"Pim Turns Green" is a reference to the fact that Pim was originally green in the show development but was changed to purple cuz they got the note that with Charlie being yellow, that they gave a "snot and vomit" vibe
Además de que el morado es el opuesto al amarillo en la paleta de colores
Hear me out here, watching a show over and over again until the chemicals in your brain run dry is not a good way to enjoy media.
lol, we are treating helium like a new bottle of soap. we know it's gonna run out, but still use it recklessly because we still have a lot of it. Only when it's down to a quarter left do we try to use it conservatively. Stretching it out by mixing it with water T.T
