Oh my God, that was such a strange feeling to see the road up to Mortehoe from Woolacombe. We've just come back from a journey through the south of England and Wales and we drove just that road up to a great campsite in Mortehoe in our campervan. But in the end, no matter how small the roads are and how big the vehicles are (there was a huge coach trying to get through at some point), in the end it always works out, thanks to the people being considerate. That's one of the things we love about the UK.

To be fair driving in Devon & Cornwall is something you get used too driving largish vehicles I would advise pre planning your route & checking it on Google or Apple maps then checking it on your sat Nav instructions Something you might already do but thought I would say

If you get the chance when in Wales and if you visit the the brecon beacons... Then you have to go to the ystradfellte waterfalls.. You can swim beneath them and walk behind them... Incredible, x

The roads in Devon are scary! We camped just along the road from Cherrytree in Croyde a few years back. Even in just a family car, you took a deep breath in when you were passing folk! 😳🥰🏴

Lynton and nearby Lynmouth are famous for their steep hills. As a kid we would holiday by car in this area and I remember me, my mother and my brother having to get out and walk up the hills while Dad drove the car to the top. Went back recently and a modern car takes it easily in stride.

Anywhere popular and busy has to be visited after Easter and before school summer holidays. September and early October are good travelling times. Wife has taken early retirement from teaching and I'm mostly retired so we're starting to plan next year's travels, keep on trucking.

Ive lived in Cornwall my whole life its possible to go almost anywhere without using single track roads. Just need to plan your routes and travel times. Enjoy your travels and stay safe.

Never persue roads with No Name on your Satnav in North Devon. They are farm tracks and Satnavs can not define them, even though some farm tracks have tarmac. Luckily on our recent trip we were in our black a pickup converted via an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper. Take care both of you
Guys in our van we arrive at hotspots early in the morning, get parked up before the masses arrive and then explore. Driving around in the middle of the day hoping to be able to find parking isn’t ideal and the roads will be busier at that time as well. Wishing you the best!
Happy anniversary! Next time you go to North Devon (when there are fewer grockles!) you have to go back to Lynnouth and do Valley of the Rocks but absolutely do not go down the toll road towards Woolacombe, even in a car!!!

Been there and done it in a truck of all things and made it in and out successfully a few times. It's all about preparation and planning. Take time to plan the route and use street view to see what the roads are like. Feel for you though and pleased your making your way out unscathed 😆 Enjoy your anniversary 🙏

Your vlog was a real eye opener for those planning on visiting those parts of North Devon. I will certainly avoid going there during the School holidays. Belated Happy anniversary. Wow those roads were stressful. We went to Devon a few years ago in a motorhome in September and it was a nightmare. Even though we stayed in campsites every night we just felt that it wasn’t van friendly really. Hopefully in time aires will become more mainstream 🙏

Ps. If ever you are in the South West again, Weston super Mare seafront Beach lawns are offering free park up for motor homes , vans etc , it’s a trial run but proving very popular according to local on line news groups.

Wife has taken early retirement from teaching and I'm mostly retired so we're starting to plan next year's travels, keep on trucking.

I love Lyndon It’s an awsome place , walk up the river walk thers a pub at the end and water fall + ther was a place now in ruins that made ginger beer up there on the way , lovely place with history. 😉👍

Ive lived in Cornwall my whole life its possible to go almost anywhere without using single track roads. Just need to plan your routes and travel times. Enjoy your travels and stay safe.

Never persue roads with No Name on your Satnav in North Devon. They are farm tracks and Satnavs can not define them, even though some farm tracks have tarmac. Luckily on our recent trip we were in our black a pickup converted via an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper. Take care both of you
Guys in our van we arrive at hotspots early in the morning, get parked up before the masses arrive and then explore. Driving around in the middle of the day hoping to be able to find parking isn’t ideal and the roads will be busier at that time as well. Wishing you the best!

Happy anniversary! Next time you go to North Devon (when there are fewer grockles!) you have to go back to Lynnouth and do Valley of the Rocks but absolutely do not go down the toll road towards Woolacombe, even in a car!!!
My hubby and grandson were in Cleveleys on the beach last week and they bumped into Alison Steadman. She stopped and had a word with them. Such a lovely lady and a brilliant actress.

Been there and done it in a truck of all things and made it in and out successfully a few times. It's all about preparation and planning. Take time to plan the route and use street view to see what the roads are like.

It was a pity that your day was marred by the stress of driving down narrow country roads with oncoming vehicles and packed out tourism spots. Your vlog was a real eye opener for those planning on visiting those parts of North Devon.
I will certainly avoid going there during the School holidays.

Belated Happy anniversary. Wow those roads were stressful. We went to Devon a few years ago in a motorhome in September and it was a nightmare. Even though we stayed in campsites every night we just felt that it wasn’t van friendly really. Hopefully in time aires will become more mainstream 🙏

Just watched you... I'm fascinated at how busy Devon and Cornwall is by comparison with Wales. The beach in Barry is massive... He beside me says. Ahhhh the English don't like going to foreign countries..... 😉😉😉😉😉.
