This is a song about finding freedom in strength, and not being afraid of your scars and bruises. A truck that has hit a few bumps and earned a few scratches has proved itself and its tenacity…the shiny one on the lot can’t say that.
I’ve been through some shit. We all have. But when you get through it, you’re stronger and better for it on the other side. Nothing can hold me back from moving forward and finding a way to enjoy life, no matter what. I hope this song and video reminds y’all of that!

I'm not on Tik Tok and never heard the 13 year old hair salon version, so forgive me... I hunt gators, crocs, snakes and good music. That is what brought me to Lainey Wilson, the real and beautiful soul that she is. This is genuine and so many, so much is so far gone, I am left on the right with only one conclusion, it's good I know how to live in the woods. Been all over this world, the jungles, the cities, and working Accords -some by pen and some by sword. Farmed a while, rode the rails a while too. This is my wife's new favorite song. She said its the only one that really tells her story. She went through hell before she met me. She also has a love for both horses and pickup trucks that I've never found in any other girl I've met. She grew up with 3 brothers so she learned to be tough both inside and out. She had to grow up fast between being somewhat neglected as a kid and getting kicked out of the house before she even had a chance to graduate. Her father was out of her life most of her childhood due to being incarcerated from child support arrears that he never could get ahead on. Her brothers got hooked on illicit drugs and/or ended up in gangs. One of her brothers lost his life because of it. She lost both her dad and this brother all within the same year. She got slammed up against the wall, choked, and received all kinds of abuse from her mother growing up (some of which she still hasn't opened up to anyone...including me). She has been beat and/or verbally abused by past boyfriends. She looks up to her stepfather who has been her father figure throughout the years but he has held her to a "white glove standard" that she never could meet due to her disabilities (both physical and mental). He still holds her to these standards even as an adult. We met when she came to stay with a mutual friend after getting kicked out of the house. She came to live with me after awhile. I was working a part time minimum wage job at the time. I was struggling to pay rent in my studio apartment and provide for myself let alone another person but we made do. I switched careers and got into long haul trucking which meant long periods away from home but would end up paying off in the long run. We now have a house and she dreams of one day working in a career that involves horses once we get past the hurdle of continuing her education. I see all she's been through and wonder to myself how she kept going before I came along
