I’m the father of three little girls. This song hits me so hard. I lost one of my little girls last year. I would give anything to be able to have her now. I am a foster child in the system and i had an old DCS case-worker who she played this song to me, when i learned why my heart mealted. She saw me as her DAUGHTER… i called her mom because my real mom neglected me and refused to be a part of my life. So my case-worker took her place. She held me when i cried, we sang together to our favorite songs in the car together, ate lunch and dinner together when possible, and she did so much for me… when i hear this song it makes me think about her… she was taken out of my life so painfully and i miss her so much. Your song makes my heart melt and hurt a little bit because you remind me of the things we’ve done together. Thank you for this song you made Drew Baldrige. I love your music so much. I don't share blood with my Dad but you'd never be able to tell with how strong our bond is!! When I was 17, my Mom was dying and they hadn't been together to long. Maybe two years.... I'd been so used to being let down by the men in my life that I panicked and got ready to keep my brothers and I together.... As we watched life flight take my Mama away, Dad looked at me and said, _"YOU ARE MY KIDS AND NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, I WILL NOT ABANDON YOU!"_ It was the first and only time he _EVER_ raised his voice at me.... I'm thrilled to announce that my Mama made it and they've been together 25 years!!

I suffer from PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety and I feel relate to this song 100%. I feel lost most days 😢 and i feel like no one understands what i go through everyday. I get up everyday even whn I'm struggling. I do it for my 2 kids, my Stepson and my partner. They are what gets me through the day every day

honestly it bring a tear to my eye reading these comments. I lost my father at a young age due to pneumonia, so it makes me very happy and sad to see you guys with your comments about your dads.
I was a daddy's girl but I didn't have that kinda dad after the age of 8. That's when I lost him when he lost himself. He became hopelessly addicted to prescription pain meds when he hurt his back at work and things only got worse. I held out for years praying that one day he would realize how much I needed him and get help. He died 2 years ago from a fentanyl overdose. I miss him but I have been missing him long before his passing. Girls need their daddys. I'm working on forgiving him and letting go of my anger. It's so hard. 😢

This is the song my daughter just sent to me because i asked her to choose the father/daughter dance song for my wedding with her soon to be step father. Her real Dad passed away when she was young,but my fiance stepped up years after when he didn't have to. And she thinks the world of him. If you ask her, he's not her step dad. He's just her Daddy. And i love that she loves him so much. So when i asked her to choose a song,she's spent over a week thinking it over and listening to music. And she just sent me this and y'all I'm in tears. Its so beautiful. I wish my Dad could be at my wedding to dance with me to this. But unfortunately my Dad passed away in 2010 and I'm not lucky enough to have such an amazing stepdad like my daughter has. Thank you for this song. Its absolutely beautiful and i can't stop crying.
