True Story: I heard this song for the first time about two months ago. I was driving home from work and it hit me hard! Inspired me to pursue my dream of attending seminary and becoming a pastor. I have put off the Good Lord's calling for too long. Blessed to say I start my first semester at Dallas Thelogical Seminary in January. "If you got a dream, chase it!" Thank you, Cody Johnson! I heard this song for first time a little after losing my daddy this past September and I haven't made it through the song yet. Is truly a beautiful and more truthful than folks know. I had moved a couple hours away but came back because my daddy got sick. My dream came true, finally got it together to get that little place on the beach, my kids grown and happy and life was good. Two days later I got the call my daddy was sick. I moved back to help my mama care for him and got to spend almost 4 more years with him. No regrets, my family is mostly whole and safe, and I wouldn't take anything for that time. Heed those words, say your I love you's.
I found out I have cancer, and I've reached out to family and friends. I know they all have lives and are busy. But your song hit home and made me cry because I feel there are going to be people who wished they were the ones to reach out. And your song says it all. Thank you for creating this truth. I just hope more people hear this song, it's beautiful.

Since May this year I've lost my mom, my grandparents, and my uncle. I heard this song right after and I have listened to it almost every day since. Such a good song. Cody is my favorite artist and his music has helped me through the roughest year of my life. ❤

I lost my older brother August 24th 2021 (30 Years old) my mother December 31st 2021 (53 years old) and my grandfather March 13th 2022 ( 2 days aways from his 87th birthday) this song made me cry, the past 7 months have been hell. About 2 months ago something kept telling me to go surprised my mom 5 states away so I drove approx 30 miles in 2 days getting 4 hours sleep. My mom was so happy to see me. After being here 6 days she got very sick and was in the hospital, went to rehab facility, then back to the hospital and passed almost a month ago. This song is so true. I'm glad I took the chance coming here.

I'm sitting home alone on Christmas, I turn on the TV and it's a documentary about farming , veterans who were bold. I wrote a letter to Santa, I just want to farm again. I want to celebrate Christmas with my grandkids every year not just when it's convenient...so I played this song ....my son just doest know how scared I am to have open heart surgery , how my work related injury has changed my goal of farming ....so while tears roll down my face writing this...I'm gonna take my chances even if I have to make thise chances happen...with my job in question, my body in reconstruction but most of all my spirit heart and soul, I'm going to chase my dreams cause the dream won't chase me back. I first heard this song sitting in federal prison, a year after losing 2 aunt's 3 weeks apart from cancer. Knowing that I didn't have enough time in life to keep making bad choices, I gave my soul to God and devoted my life to taking the chances and doing right by my family and myself. Im now enrolled in college and chasing my dreams and spending as much time as possible with family.

This song has touched my heart n soul in a way that I cannot understand. Could be due to the loss of my parents and loved ones and failed relationships. Could also be due to the fact I stopped dreaming or living for myself years ago. This song has stopped me in my tracks and is leading me back to living life again. I lost my brother 14 years ago and it feels just like if it was yesterday. If i could take the day he was taken from me and be the one to choose for him to not be called home, i would. This has always been one of my favourite songs, but the lyrics had never hit so hard until I lost my best friend to cancer. I was meaning to see her in hospital but never did and now I can't.
This song is beautiful and gut wrenching at the same time. I lost my step son almost 4 years ago, he was only 23. It was sudden and unexpected. To watch his father, his mother, and siblings go through this has been horrible. My heart is broken but I find myself trying to make it better for them. You never know when you won't have another chance with someone. Nobody ever wishes they worked more in the end, the regrets come from missing out on time with someone you love. Time is the cheapest thing you can give to someone, but it seems to be the hardest thing to give someone. Live each moment while you can because the regret will eat you alive of you don't

This song/ video was a wake up call for me. I suffered a stroke last Sept 19, 2021 and i'm still recovering. I pray everyday i'll get my right arm back that I can't use. My dad passed when I was 10 years old. We were always distant. The night we got the call that he had killed himself... I was downstairs with a friend and we were having a sleepover. I lost my paternal Grandfather a couple of years ago and I had always had him in my life and I never knew the meaning of you never know what you have until it is gone. I now know what that meaning is and how it feels. My life has forever changed and I haven't had a connection with another relative like him. We aren't promised tomorrow and life is so precious that when you can't any longer it hurts. Cherish your love ones and hold them close because one day you can't and you will want to.

Lost my Dad on June 1 2021
He was fine and doing great until the C-virus. No issues and no problems and doing his thing every day before that crap. It wore him out, even though he was tough as nails and always was. He caught it in December 2020, and was in the hospitals and such for over 6 months. He never smoked a day in his life. He was supposed to come home on 5-29-21, but took a turn for the worse. Lost him 6-1-21. This song rings true because I wish I could take him fishing 1 more time but I can't. I miss my Dad. He taught me how to hunt and fish, and he was a born and raised as a true Texan just like me and my brother.
