England here. I love how this song encapsulates a moment; a feeling, one that isn’t specifically confined to the US. When I was that age , my friends and I would car share and head to the woodlands, get a few campfires going, pick up some drinks. And I can relate- that situation at the time feels so precious that it MUST be acted upon. It is truth. Now- looking back- the truth is that I was learning and it is precious (for me) because of the niavety and of the journey discovering what love is. Love this song- have it on my favourite play list.
This song hits hard, because while most can relate, I can’t. While I grew up in the country with plenty of dirt roads, I was raised in a sheltered environment and culture that never allowed for these type of experiences. Now, in my 40s I’m haunted by the experiences I feel like I missed out on as a teen and young adult, that are lost forever. But…. I have a family, good career and I’m married to my best friend for almost 20 years, so if I could go back and do it again, I can’t imagine I’d change a thing. Still, it’s all so bittersweet when I hear a song like this.
I was born and raised in town byt I'd go to my uncles house in the country and loved it:)! The horses, rooster, hay, barn I'd climb on the hay and look out and I helped bail hay and clim

I must admit, up until now, my musical interests were mostly rooted in 80's and 90's music, and I hadn't been paying much attention to new country releases. However, that all changed after attending the CMA FEST and experiencing Jelly Roll's performance. It opened my eyes to the potential of this new country genre. For quite some time, I felt that country songs and artists were stuck in a repetitive cycle, producing music that lacked uniqueness. Yet, tonight's performance and a few other recent songs have ignited a newfound appreciation within me. I'm genuinely impressed, so much so that I'm already curating a UA-cam playlist dedicated to this fresh wave of country music. On a delightful note, I also stumbled upon a remarkable woman during my musical exploration. Though I'm not familiar with her identity, her voice is reminiscent of a young Dolly Parton, minus the signature wings, of course! 😂 This resemblance to the legendary Dolly has me captivated, and I can't wait to learn more about her and her music. Overall, my perspective on new country music has taken a delightful turn, and I'm eagerly looking forward to discovering more incredible artists and their unique sounds in this evolving genre.

It was right after senior year Just before the summer disappeared We went a-ridin' them old farm ruts Hangin' out on the gate of his truck We threw a blanket 'neath the sunset Bein' brave as 18 gets We gave each other more than our hearts With the help of a mason jar Drinkin' watermelon moonshine We cut the burn with a little lime Parkin' back in them kudzu vines I was his and every bit of that boy was mine Too young to know what love was But we were learnin' on a sweet buzz There's never nothin' like the first time And mine's always gonna taste like Watermelon moonshine I don't remember where we got it from I just remember feelin' all grown up Takin' pulls like it ain't no thing Never told him it was my first drink But I told him that he was the one You're so sure when you're that young You think you got it all figured out And now I laugh when I think about Drinkin' watermelon moonshine We cut the burn with a little lime Parkin' back in them kudzu vines I was his and every bit of that boy was mine Too young to know what love was But we were learnin' on a sweet buzz There's never nothin' like the first time And mine's always gonna taste like Watermelon moonshine I thought that high would last forever But that ain't what it does Maybe we were drunk in love Or maybe we were just... Drinkin' watermelon moonshine We cut the burn with a little lime Parkin' back in them kudzu vines I was his and every bit of that boy was mine Too young to know what love was But we were learnin' on a sweet buzz There's never nothin' like the first time And mine's always gonna taste like Watermelon moonshine Watermelon moonshine

This euphoric song doesn't belong to this planet I believe. It comes from a place where everything is conspicuously beautiful. I first enjoyed listening to it during an episode of yellowstone. I fell in love with it at once. I am Syrian and proud of my culture, but the world this song creates in my mind is indescribable. I can't understand how words and the way they are being uttered can move me to that world of euphoria.
Is it possible to fall in love with someone's voice? I've never been a huge country fan. But the angelic melody of her voice just melts me man. Huge fan ❤

This sounds exactly like Craig Morgan-what I love about sundays…or at least the chorus does 🤷🏻♂️ maybe just me Edit: I said “similar to” and meant to say “exactly like”
This is your Best in my opinion. I didnt know who you were before I saw you and heard you sing this one on Yellowstone. Must say it brings to mind my first experience with moonshine. Good Luck for your continued success and happiness.
The only part that sounds similar is the common upwards running line in the chorus. It could be possible she heard this song and subconsciously pulled from it, but the lyrics and verses are very different musically. Don't think she meant to rip it off if anything.

I grew up in nyc there was a family from Pennsylvania I was playing basketball with the boys came in the house dying of thirst their father was sitting at the kitchen table with what looked to me a glass of water I asked him if I could have he said sure it was moonshine boy did it hit me we both shared a good laugh 😂 then I met my wife love it first sight she didn't feel right with my friends and I left with her and never looked back our cuts were out in Jones Beach back in the day you could go in the dunes I spent the day and at night little fire put the sand over it with a blanket and just fell more deeply in love I have to give credit to my mom she made shrimp with pineapple and even bought some port wine cheese that she knew my wife loved so I whined her and dined her and was a complete gentleman and she was my lady 43 years now on your song just brings back so many fond memories and the video I tell my wife everything and I mean every and any so she has heard the story with the moonshine but it never gets old for me fell in love with you and your music and I tell her that too thank you and keep cranking them out God bless you 🙏🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁💖

Some seasoned looking high school seniors 😐
When your Lainey Wilson vinyl came with a 🍉 scent. ❤️🔥 She is a whole Country Hippie vibe.
Wait it smelled like watermelon??
@willletner559 It's a limited edition LP pressed in 🍉 Green. The cover smells like 🍉
Omg this music is amazing...takes me back as well about 20 years, you sound absolutely outstanding ❤
🦋.... Have you ever watched a monarch butterfly land on a flower.. they will extend their little drinker thing😂 And then they will slowly move their wings up and down up and down in a methodical motion.. The little antennas will twitch back and forth as if trying to radar in on anything else around..😊
@LaineyWilson just when I think I have a favorite song of yours you release a new one that takes it place ❤
This is an exact copy of a Craig Morgan song called “That’s what I love about Sunday”
Lainey, ah such a great song and such a wonderfully done video. This is one if my favorite songs as it certainly does take me back a ways. Love it. Bravo ❤❤
Absolutely Absolutely amazingly REAL LIFE LIVING 2:37 :_Kon9::_Kon4::_Emoji2::_Emoji1: loving it's wassup 💯 keep banging 👌 🙌 👏 💪
Only the realist Lainey Wilson fans can like and reply to this comment ❤
I love Lainey Wilson ❤❤❤
Hey guys
Hi
The melody in the chorus reminds me of Craig Morgan's "That's What I Love About Sunday."
Yeah, total rip off.
Yes. Exactly.
Agreed! It’s song theft.
Love Craig Morgan. He randomly played at a bar in my town a few years back. He was so down to Earth, it was awesome to meet him.
You're dead on. And now I can't un hear it. It's a different take on Strawberry wine with What I love about Sundays melody.
And I think Ms.Wilson did a great job.
Damn Lainey, thank you so much…such a beautiful song…lyrics…voice…subject…you…takes us back to that first love…it brings a tear to my life hardened eyes❤❤❤
My favorite new female singer!!!
Same, and I’m a male ❤
Me too!
I just listened to this song for the first time. I'm 61 and yes, it took me back to that teenage, first love.❤
It was right after senior year
Just before the summer disappeared
We went a-ridin' them old farm ruts
Hangin' out on the gate of his truck
We threw a blanket 'neath the sunset
Bein' brave as 18 gets
We gave each other more than our hearts
With the help of a mason jar
Drinkin' watermelon moonshine
We cut the burn with a little lime
Parkin' back in them kudzu vines
I was his and every bit of that boy was mine
Too young to know what love was
But we were learnin' on a sweet buzz
There's never nothin' like the first time
And mine's always gonna taste like
Watermelon moonshine
I don't remember where we got it from
I just remember feelin' all grown up
Takin' pulls like it ain't no thing
Never told him it was my first drink
But I told him that he was the one
You're so sure when you're that young
You think you got it all figured out
And now I laugh when I think about
Drinkin' watermelon moonshine
We cut the burn with a little lime
Parkin' back in them kudzu vines
I was his and every bit of that boy was mine
Too young to know what love was
But we were learnin' on a sweet buzz
There's never nothin' like the first time
And mine's always gonna taste like
Watermelon moonshine
I thought that high would last forever
But that ain't what it does
Maybe we were drunk in love
Or maybe we were just...
Drinkin' watermelon moonshine
We cut the burn with a little lime
Parkin' back in them kudzu vines
I was his and every bit of that boy was mine
Too young to know what love was
But we were learnin' on a sweet buzz
There's never nothin' like the first time
And mine's always gonna taste like
Watermelon moonshine
Watermelon moonshine
So love this song my husband heard it first and couldn't play it fast enough for me and all those memories can flooding back. Love you and your music
Greetings 🖖 there
カントリーは、普段聴かないけれど、この曲はなんか魅かれます。レイニー最高!😊
No understand.
All I hear is "paint me a Birmingham" lol
This is the exact same tune as Craig Morgan’s “that’s what I love about Sundays…
This song is a blatant copy of 'That's What I Love About Sunday' Song by Craig Morgan. Listen to both songs back to back and you'll hear it.
Yes!
Yes and the original songwriters get nothing.
when you get home tonight why dont you take a hot bath and relax my love you deserve it ease your mind ok KING QUEEN you been under to much pressure my love 1:04 3/23/2024
it will help you ok my love
The music/tune is to close to What I love about Sundays by Craig morgan that I can't enjoy this one😢
OMG LAINEY YOU OUT DID YOURSELF!!🩷💚🍉
I’m mainly into the 70’s & 80’s genre of music, but this jam is special!! ‘Love Always’ Matthew 21:22
Who's in 2024? Lainey is my cousin!❤❤
Here before release to see History being made
Is it possible to fall in love with someone's voice? I've never been a huge country fan. But the angelic melody of her voice just melts me man. Huge fan ❤
Love this song thank you Laney.
We can’t stop loving her
Agreed 👍
Thank you for bringing authentic country music back. Haven't heard it since the 90s. I've missed it!
Hi sally
I feel like this song does not sound 90's enough because her voice is too perfect.
“…That's what I love about Sunday
Sing along as the choir sways
Every verse of Amazing Grace
An' then we shake the Preacher's hand
Go home, into your blue jeans
Have some chicken an' some baked beans
Pick a back yard football team
Not do much of anything
That's what I love about Sunday…”. 🤔
Her whole song is the chorus of Craig Morgan’s “That’s What I Love About Sundays”. 🤔🧐🤔
Yes. A total rip-off.
Exactly!
Agreed! Play them at the same time. It’s uncanny.
This sounds exactly like Craig Morgan-what I love about sundays…or at least the chorus does 🤷🏻♂️ maybe just me
Edit: I said “similar to” and meant to say “exactly like”
Not similar. Exactly.
Exactly
@@kerrymcgee6450 haha that’s what I meant!
They stole it. Plain and simple.
@@AGomoljak and they are getting praised for it…very sad
This is your Best in my opinion. I didnt know who you were before I saw you and heard you sing this one on Yellowstone. Must say it brings to mind my first experience with moonshine. Not flavored in any way, just plain raw 180 proof. I was prob 19 or 20 years old. It was def an eye opener. Thank you LW. All the Best to you. You have the World by the Tail on a down hill pull. Good Luck for your continued success and happiness.
Isn’t this That’s What I Love About Sunday’s but with different words?
Yes. You are 100% correct
👍
💯 percent rip off.
No same words.
Sounds like “that’s what I love about Sundays” by Craig Morgan a bit
A lot!
More than that, it’s exactly the same.
Same voice and everything right?
I grew up in L.A. I never cared much for country music. This young lady's music changed my life. So broken, so alive. I need me a country Gal.
Lainey, you’re legit one of the best female country artists hands down!! Keep making the good music!!
Does anyone else think this is a ripoff of "What I love about Sunday"? It is the same exact sound just change the words 🤔
The only part that sounds similar is the common upwards running line in the chorus. It could be possible she heard this song and subconsciously pulled from it, but the lyrics and verses are very different musically. Don't think she meant to rip it off if anything.
No she stole it 💯 percent. The chorus is identical. Sony publishing released both songs. They knew what they were doing.
Love it or leave it!
1:40 fellas if she don't look at you like this when she see you, she doesn't wanna see you naked lol
i can see this being #1 on the charts. this is Amazing
It actually did hit #1 when Craig Morgan sang it. She basically stole the melody and added different lyrics to That’s What I love About Sunday.
It ALL started with "WATERMELON CRAWL"!!!
Another amazing song ❤😊
You are very special 💃
