There's absolutely NO REASON for this band to be hated. Maybe because of the way they dressed? Cause they're so fuckin amazing in many ways, Matt has a incredible and unique voice, The Rev was a legendary drummer, and they're all excellent musicians, they're one of the best bands of this generation, no doubt about that
yep unfortunately their looks from like 2000-2006 got them lots of undeserved hate and generalization by people who didn't even bother to listen to the music itself and judge them based on that.

I was going to attend a concert the year the rev passed but I missed because it was slightly to far in a City I didn't like much. After that, made sure I saw the bands I wanted because you never know what will happen

I started listening to A7x when I was 12. I’m 26 now.. I’ve listened & learned every lyric to every song up until the last album (The Stage) I still dig it, just don’t know every word to every song... yet 😋 ....anyways, this band has changed my life in so many positive ways... I would love to just sit & have a beer with them... I cried when I found out Matt was sick and they couldn’t do the last tour.. I’m patiently waiting until the day they announce they’ll be touring again... I think of Jimmy all the time. I did a report in 8th grade on how The Rev & Syn Gates are my favorite musicians and will be forever.. I got the best grade I’ve ever gotten on that report ( A + & 20 bonus points) they even framed my work in the hall... my teacher actually asked if I personally knew them lol.... They 100% are still my favorite and always will be... I’ve never felt so deeply about a band before. People say I’m obsessed. I say I just love everything about them. Not just the band but as individuals... ❤️A7x #1 fan forever ❤️

LOVE it. this is the first song i ever heard from them. i was flipping through the channel, stopped on headbangers ball, and this was playing. i remember thinking, "wow. a heavy rock band, and the singer has huge dimples." wrote down their name so i remembered to check them out, and the rest is history. i've seen them 40 times since 2005, have 9 or 10 tattoos related to/because of them, met them all a bunch, and met my best friend because of them.
Love the background vocals in this song, like old school metal, high pitched but a bit cleaner

Natasha Martins I grew up with both of these bands and both burn it down's are awesome and both bands are fairly similar (with their changing music) and people are starting to hate their changes. Wonder how they got thru puberty;)

Not sure if people still watch this video, but I filmed part of it. My angle was of The Rev next to his kit. He was always the nicest dude anytime I saw him (several tours with Mushroomhead, warped, etc). Anyway, this was filmed in Los Angeles at the Music Box Fonda Theater in early 2004 and some small no named band named My Chemical Romance opened the show.

My first Avenged Sevenfold song was Buried Alive. I loved it so I listened to a few of their recent hits like Nightmare and This Means War. Some of their albums are more radio-friendly than most metalheads like, but this allowed them to reach a bigger audience. Plus, The Stage is really good. It really shows how they have matured imo
