I was one of those fans on the first leg of the Hail to the King tour
I saw them when they toured with metallica in Arizona phoniex back in I believe 2017 or 18
Somebody literally just tied a rope around their neck and jumped off and they're hanging there for like 40 minutes the whole entire concert

One of my best friends growing up (who was more like my brother) ended up getting hooked on H and struggled for several years in and out of rehab. The part in the lyrics "It hurts to know that you belong here" basically summarizes how I felt every time he would go back into rehab. I hated that he was addicted and was slowly killing himself. I hated that he NEEDED rehab to stay alive, but I encouraged it every time he would relapse. I tried my best to be there for him and keep him on a good path....But he was living in a nightmare of consequences based on his choices.
William (Wonka to those that knew him best) passed away a a few years ago from an OD. Getting that call I always dreaded was heartbreaking...Part of me died along with him that day, but I am happy that his nightmare of addiction and battles is over and that he can be at peace. Unfortunately for those of us he left behind, part of that nightmare and pain still lingers.
This song is amazing in so many ways and i'm thankful that the world has it to form their own meanings and thoughts. For me, it makes me think of my bro that traveled on way too soon.
I'm sorry for your loss but know you're not alone in it.

I get that everyone has their own tastes but their music isn't just filled with pointless screaming...a need to understand the group, their evolution, what each song is about and why they're so aggressive is a must have before disregarding them...Corey's vocal talent (screaming and singing) is incredible, there are very few that can even match him...I used to hate Slipknot then my brother introduced me properly to their music...

4:50 to 5:10 is really such an incredible part singing wise. I try to follow it singing in the car but i cant.
M. shadows is truly a top tier vocalist. I noticed its not sang like that live. Its like a melodic scream. Makes my throat feel like its going to bleed when i try.
He used to absolutely nail that part in 2011-2012 performances imo! Especially the "but our life's made up of choices" line. Incredible power.

For those who don't know, at the beginning and at the end it shows the drums because of former drummer Jimmy who played in the band but who died in 2009 from an overdose. Beautiful tribute to him.
I agree. The video was a beautiful tribute to him. Everything was spot on, from Matt's Jimmy deathbat tattoo at the beginning to Jimmy's last drum set at the end.

Zack Gibson the Rev was the original drummer of the band and childhood friend of Matt and Gates. He sadly took his life December 28th, 2009.
Zack Gibson they only fairly recently found a new permanent drummer. Before then. They switched between a few just to keep on with music

I remember listening to this band everyday when i was a teenager. I was in love with M. Shadows haha. My dad came with me to their concert. It was my first concert ever. This song was absolutely epic. My dad is no longer among us now... This is so strange to land on this video years later.
