I had a tremendously positive experience in 2022/23 in Vienna/Austria...I heavily scratched my Explorer I 39mm and went to an AD to ask to fix it, they took the watch, got rid of the deep scratches and I picked up the watch 1 week later - to find out they did it for free...I was happy and asked them if they would sell me a Rolex...I had no history and they put me on the list for a Datejust 41mm...it took 9 months to receive my next Rolex...funny thing, we talked about the Yachtmaster and they said I should come in 3 months and I would be put on the list again...but I bought a Starbucks instead via a friend who received it after 2 years waiting list from another AD....the Yachtmaster is still on my bucket list...maybe in 2025 😅
I have a Rolex and I don’t use it. I can’t understand why people are so crazy about getting one and prepared to wait. I am using a 15 years old G-Shock which looses 1 minute between every 5 year service. I know my Rolex is gaining 1.5 minutes per month. So I am super happy like this.(but that’s me)
@@mauriziograndi1750 it's mainly a flex or status symbol. Some people have a history with them (like myself via my father) and want to continue that history and pass it on. Most are just looking for a flip or quick profit.

@@WatchWiseUS one of the AD's is a guy I went to High School with, he was frank and said "I get one of these a year, and I have 10 customers on the list who've spent a whole lot more than you" .. I don't know, maybe some models are just not made for average guys like me,

living in Austria. its called an interest list.. put my name on the list in january by a suggestion from the AD ( yeah when they already "adjusted" the prices by 700€ 😂) i got the call in june and got my Datejust with silver dial ( i wanted an all time classic thats monochromatic and very well legable and not hyped like the blue one. i prefer light dials cause they have almost zero white glare on the glass unlike the dark dials

I too have been waiting but have given up as it's always a lie of them unable to meet the demand due to short supply and trying to get me to buy those lousy pieces that's not in my intetest. Datejust 31 is easy to get. Even my wife, who was getting the watch, thought it was way too small. We were offered a Datejust 36 with diamonds around the bezel. It was way over 20 grand. I passed.

I got my Rolex Explorer 40mm 3 months ago, I’m not super rich I am petty ordinary to tell you the truth, I was on the wait list for about 10 months and bang got the phone call , you have 24 hrs to say yes or it goes to the next person, I said yes of course, I love my explorer, I do think the relationship I made with the sales lady at the AD made the difference.
@@chrisb9156 I'm so glad you got yours. My question is why do I need to have a relationship with someone who's selling me what is, more or less, a mass produced item. When I spent $45k to buy my car I found a dealer who had one, signed the paperwork, paid the deposit and I had a car. Rolex put these road blocks in our way to create a false sense of luxury and demand to keep prices as high as they are. It's that simple.
I was 2 weeks ago in rolex store for try oyster perpetual 41mm,they receive me very nice with coffee,good discution but they try to convince me to buy a nice tudor burgondi with jubilee bracelet for 4500€,i am sure if i have buy the tudor they will consider me like a good customer,but i have budget just for one watche ,the rolex at 6550€,so...they put me in waitlist telling me it will be for 8 month minimum😥
@@micaljimenez7381 I hear this so often (and experienced it myself too). The only thing you can do is to explain this to them and then try another ad. After that your only option is to go Grey market, and that's not how it should be. It's not fair to you, me or anyone else.

Lab grown diamonds have put pressure on De Beers. Similarly, super clones have put pressure on Rolex. I have lots of genuine Rolexes, but the models I want aren't available to me at retail. So, I bought super clones instead. I cannot think of any other product where you can buy a copy that is so close for so little money, certainly not cars, houses, things people spend lots of money on. Rolex has to be super worried about this.

I had left my name when the 50th anniversary sea dweller was launched. I have given up waiting last year (2023) when I finally realised they had not input my name into their so called wait list that is now reclassified as interest list. Have decided to not spend any single cent at any of the shops and boutiques owned by the group of company. I know it does not make any difference to them since I am just one customer but I don't see why I should support that group of company anymore.
I completely sympathize and this was my experience too. There's no way to actually tell if the list is "official" or they're simply denying you in a way that, frankly, is worse than being told "no" - but check my other video on the law firm who is going after luxury brands for waitlists because of discrimination.
In the uk its a hassle, but go to America and you can pretty much walk in to a Rolex or AP strore, aslong as you ared dressed well, knowledgeable on the brand you want to purchase, and speak very politely you can walk out with the watch you want...

That's is an incorrect assumption, it's just as bad here in the US. My wife has a multimillion dollar 30 year purchased history at Mayor's jewlers. She recently purchased a DJ41 Rhodium dial with diamonds, after a 4-5 month wait for a white gold Daydate with diamond bezel with out any luck. My wife bought a DJ41 with the Rhodium diamond dial model in stainless as a daily wearer instead.The only Daydate the AD apologetically has only been able to offer us was an iced out Platinum Daydate that was over 100k retail. After we declined that watch, our AD informed us the 100k Daydate was sold only 3 days after it had been offered to us . I've been on the waitlist for a Batgirl for over a year without any succes. But the AD assured us that I will eventually get one. We already have a 2 tone and a solid gold Daytonas, but would likesuccess. His and hers stainless Daytonas models to our collections. Our AD shared with us that she has a high- end client, with a similar purchase history that finally got his Daytona after a 3 year wait. So the premise that anyone can walk into an AD and buy you want is simply not the case. Very few clients have a purchase history or close friendship with an AD as we do. So the premise that someone without any purchase history will be able to just stroll in to an AD and get their hands on the Rolex they want, is just not the case. Most likely, they will be offered an Omega, Tudor or some other brands instead of a Rolex. I wanted to share the reality of what the availability of Rolexes is in South Florida. @rafaeloliva6425 not a rolex hater.. just telling it like it is. They are hype watches. Assembly line made. Not rare. Go to an event and see how many people are wearing the same watch. They are over 1MM per year. Even some of their stories are lies (rolex explorer). Rolex is the Toyota of luxury watches. Good.. but not special.
Waiting’s not the criteria here. Takes longer to get a $300 Helm, but that reality hurts your narrative doesn’t it. If you are a watch guy you will have watches. Most people getting butthurt about not being able to walk in and buy one……. Are not wanting to walk in and buy one. I’ve built a relationship with a new AD so please spare me your cr4p. Rolex is not a shop window brand currently, but it used to be and some pieces probably will be again.

There is no 126040 sub.. do you mean the 124060 no date? There's 507 listings on chrono24 as of right now with most being 1-1.5K over retail.

been on a list for over a month with 3 rolex dealers went out and bought a glashutte original which is much better quality. screw rolex.
