  • Rare and Old Bins and big cart lineups I found on Google Maps.
I searched around the city for a while until I found so cool old bins that just happened to be out while Google Maps Street View went by. They're some pretty cool ones that you don't see everyday out there. I also went "back in time" to 2006 and 2007 in the new Google Maps to find pictures of some old carts before they were replaced with Rehrigs in 2009.
Other carts that are not shown on Google Maps:
2 green 30 gal Ottos that are used regularly.
1 black Toter that is used at an LAFD station by me sometimes.
1 black OP that is also used regularly.
1 blue 60 gal Otto that is too put out every week.
    Enjoy!

Is there a reason why in the USA the most cities dont buy our German/European MGB bins anymore? The MGB system is safe for the workers and easy to empty a lot of bins in a short time without heavy lifting or cracking the Can Body with this grippers

Older Carts are getting rare in La right? Bet thats because of the rough trucks. If I watch newer LA garbage truck vids its nearly all newer rherigs now

Awesome! I loved all the rare and old carts! Theres an OP nearby me but it never gets put out.. :/ Lol horse at 4:42. I also love the horse manure line up at the end. Hopefully someone will film it one day.

Thanks! Ya I wish I could film the brown bins. There's a neighborhood in the Brentwood hills that have horses (that's where you saw the horse at 4:42), but it's a private community and they're really strict about who they let in. I think you either have to know someone in there, be a resident, or have a licensed service, so I couldn't get in :(. They're no gates but there's always a security guard patrolling the area. The lineups you saw at the end are all the way out at the end of the East Valley in the Tujunga/ Lake View Terrace area.

Great finds! It must have taken a long time to find these on google maps. Some really awesome carts. I remember seeing a lot of these old carts when I used to live in LA some several years ago. But those brown carts...I've never seen those before. I had no idea LABOS had brown rehrigs. Do you know if they're used for Trash? Recycle? Or Green Waste?

Thanks! Brown carts are not very common in LA, except for the ranch properties with horses and livestock. The main use for the brown ones is for horse manure, but I've seen them filled with hay and grass before. You could even fill it with yard waste, because the green and brown containers are collected by the same truck.
It actually didn't really take long to find, because I've seen many of them while looking for friends houses using Google Maps. Also, I looked mainly in the rich neighborhoods in Bel-Air, Brentwood, and Hollywood, and the (ghetto) run down neighborhoods in South LA, both of which the residents never replace carts either because they don't speak English or because they just are too lazy and don't even bother with what they're placing their trash in.
      Thanks for commenting!

Well, every single one of the ASLs are retired (I think since late 2012 or early 2013) but there are still 3 Volvo FLs that do Bulky Item pickup in West LA. I made a video of them a couple weeks ago. Its on my channel.
