People are complaining that adverts against smoking are scaring children? Good! Lung Cancer is messed up...didn't think I needed to spell that one out.
Some of them, ye I have to say, were mildly disturbing, such as the smoking one with the hook, but it’s not that bad, there are worse adverts out there in this world.
Taking down The Marie Stopes ad was disgusting. Where in that advert did it mention abortion? They don’t just perform abortions, they give essential family planning advice.
"Thought it promoted abortion" Well, I've lost the little faith I had in humanity I had before. This video is hilarious but at the same time shows how stupid people could be.
I think it's because all pregnant women seemed depressed in the video, and call us if you need help, as if they needed help in getting rid of the baby, which is what I saw after reading the complaints, but in reality, I wouldn't have over analized an add to such an extreme measure.
Some of them are not funny thought but should have complaints about them take the non smoking and Barbados adverts people shouldn't complain when they're telling the truth.
Same, I think it was done well. It didn't mislead at all, and the ending made people think about their choices. Far too many people would rather silence things promoting thought rather than accepting blame.
@@bluefoxthecutest2628 That it's human caused, preventable and reversable. I don't believe any are the case. Most research being funded by governments who obviously have a heavily vested political rather than factual interest. The fact the advert is BY the government says all you need to know. The researchers aren't going to tell their financiers the opposite of what they want to know or being paid to find!! Hypothetically, if it is the cause, all the time air traffic is as high as it, ships use diesel and we shop online so cheap goods are transported around the world to fulfill those orders / or those good have foreign components, turning the odd lightbulb off is like taking a cup of water out of the sea and thinking you're about to empty the ocean.
i think my conclusion is that for many they don't want to face up to what is happening and the truth, i wouldn't of banned that advert, i was disgusted when it got dropped, people are so pathetic
Because it's simply not true. C02 is grossly exaggerated because every breathing animal on planet earth has been pumping hundreds of millions of tons of the stuff into the air for thousands of years. There are these things called "trees" that actually TAKE IN C02 and convert it to oxygen. But of course, if you live in a city your whole life you might forget that those exist. But that doesn't mean trees are extinct, if you actually look more than a few miles away from your front door.
Blair Logie Not nearly as much as you'd think. If you think that the majority of the world is clear cut, you've obviously never visited anywhere rural in the world. Trees STILL outnumber cars a million to one, it'll take a lot more than 7 billion mammals to make a serious impact on the worldwide ecosystem.
Supermegurwolf I get what you're saying but adoption is a thing that exists. I just don't think you should be allowed to murder people, whether they've been born or not. I do respect those who support a girl's right to choose, but I just don't support it.
Super Sonic123 As long as you respect a woman's decision if she decides she wants one, I don't really mind. People who push a woman not to do it are who I have a problem with, because the reason could be serious. The child might not even have a good life.
The hooked advert really scared me as a kid, so much so that when they decided to advertise it in newspapers my Dad had to rip out the page and burn it.
so we include naked women on the third page of public newspapers for all to see without anyone questioning it but how dare they ever promote abortion! How dare you give women a choice! Gosh, what a country.
Von Yeah, it is! Only, wait, it's not a baby, it's a clump of lifeless cells! Whereas the woman who is forced to bare is living and suffering, and poor little 'baby' clump of cells will never feel any pain, but they would gone through a fuck tonne if they were forced to live with parents who obviously couldn't cope with them in the first place! And I've got 23 'heartless skanks' on my side already, thanks. And you know, the thousands of others out there who voted on this.
***** Oh what, and I suppose an egg and a sperm is a person too? An embryo is AN EMBRYO, not a person. A foetus is A FOETUS, not a person. IT IS LITERALLY A CLUMP OF CELLS. Yes, it is a clump of cells with the potential to be a life, but there is no life in it, and I'd rather terminate it while it can feel no pain rather then make it live with parents who clearly can't cope with them.
***** No, actually. If someone aborted it at nine months or something that crosses a line. But there's a ban (at least in the UK, idk about elsewhere) on abortions after a five month mark. I'm condoning abortion before the five month mark, not after, because there is potential that a baby could be born at around the six month mark and be relatively healthy. If it can be born and be reasonably physically healthy, you shouldn't abort it, but it's not my place to stop anyone if they try to, unless it will severely harm them if they try to.
I politely ask you to inform yourself on how abortion works. Its not dead cells. The fetus is alive during the time of abortion (4th-6th month i think). It can also feel pain. So you cannot say its heartless.
haha people complaining about advert 6 being "not suitable for children watching" the advert is specifically targeted at young adults, advertising help that is available to them about the issues addressed: abuse at home, bullying in school, drug abuse, violence, ultimately ending up locked up in a cell. but i suppose, either way people are going to say it's not effective enough or it's offensive.
I wish that CO2 advert was still around... Even though animal agriculture is responsible for 18% of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust from all transportation. :')
HelloImAPizza you know what, lets chill. Im a meat eater. Nice to meet you, i eat meat because it's my choice, you don't eat meat because it's your choice. Lets leave it at that.
Hibryd Music And it's also your right to go out of your way and purposely try and ridicule vegans for their lifestyle choices? Respect isn't given when it's demanded - it's given when it's earned. Meat eaters can go around demanding respect from vegans, but the moment a vegan even politely tries to recommend an alternative, there's a whole public uproar about it, e.g. "they're trying to shove it down people's throats!" It's funny how most meat eaters tell vegans to chill and "respect their choice to eat meat" when they basically go around doing the exact opposite to nearly every vegan they come across. One rule for you and another rule for them, I assume?
The one with the fish hook or whatever it was, I'll admit that one did freak me out a bit. As for the "abortion" one, it's literally advertising a company like Planned Parenthood. It doesn't necessarily referring to abortion. But, I guess you have Anti-Abortion idiots everywhere.
Hunter Jaeger I saw a video where a mother aborted a child and in the end it *SAID IT TOOK PLACE IN BRITAIN* WHAT THE HECC?! Does Britain have Democrats and Republicans?!
I know, when I read the warning I thought it was going to be gory or insensitive. Turn out it was just a "we can help, call us for more info," which doesn't seem to be bad at all.
Have ya seen the British one "the boy who didn't go to a safe place to cross" ? Can still remember the whole advert off by heart even tho it was like 10 years ago, fuckin petrified me
Is there a word to describe someone who feels the need to be offended on the behalf of someone else in order to give them a false sense of achievement?
i remember the Dog Breath one from Caddicarus. i think i was already 17 when i first saw it, and it still left a permanent scar in my mind. i think about it every time my breath smells particularly horrible.
Only really disturbing one was the 'Hooked' one, which wasn't even that bad apart from the bit where the hook actually went inside his mouth, but honestly kid's TV nowadays is more gruesome than this stuff.
I think a lot of the complaints were from folk that didn't want to be faced with social issues they'd prefer weren't discussed, rather than it offending or frightening anyone. They're the same type that avert their eyes from the disabled or beggars, because it frightens them and encroaches upon the little bubble that is their lives.
The CO2 complaint one makes me so mad... It's true reality, not fear mongering, these parents need to know what world they'll leave for their kids and their future generations. Change starts now to save billions.
we've heard the story since the early 80's we all got told off for using hairspray, don't you remember? then it was light switches and energy then plastic became the evil oh and the cows farting and eating meat.... it wont go away, the next ice age is on its way regardless. the universe has got its own agenda. The really ironic thing is, all the brexiteers that wanted to get out of the EU to get rid of all the regulations that were brought it want to go back to how we lived in the 80's and its the exact same way of the life the pro EU people support. glass bottled milk, and the whole mend and make do, that was our way of life before the mass produced commercialisation and globalisation started.
it's normally overprotective parents who complain and then there's the last one viewers complained this advert could encourage bad manners amongst children lol😂
Its said that they cant advertise a helpline for woman who may be pregnant without being accused of abortion. It could be a rape case, or it could be a advise on how to manage. Shocking.

The Barnardo's one really got me because I was slapped round the back of the head like that so many times at about that age. I still don't like people coming up behind me. It was always for the tiniest thing too and it would make my head spin and my ears ring.
Amairani Gutierrez it's because the service that it is for helps women evidence what they want to do if they get pregnant. It's sad that such a useful service isn't allowed to advertise on television. Pro-life idiots should start worrying about the kids without homes and parents than the small bundle of cells that isn't even a baby yet.

Ben T. Lador Nope! That was pure badassery.
Agreed, car un-related. But really badass
Badass as hell
The music slaps
Some of them, ye I have to say, were mildly disturbing, such as the smoking one with the hook, but it’s not that bad, there are worse adverts out there in this world.
Taking down The Marie Stopes ad was disgusting. Where in that advert did it mention abortion? They don’t just perform abortions, they give essential family planning advice.
"Thought it promoted abortion"
Well, I've lost the little faith I had in humanity I had before.
This video is hilarious but at the same time shows how stupid people could be.
Literally they just hate women. It didn't even mention abortion.
I bet it's cos Northern Ireland's complaints got added. They're pretty insane with conservatism and religion.
@@christiecat5367 Only the unionists / DUP types / Scots Presbyterians descendants tbf. But yeah, sadly I think you're right
I think it's because all pregnant women seemed depressed in the video, and call us if you need help, as if they needed help in getting rid of the baby, which is what I saw after reading the complaints, but in reality, I wouldn't have over analized an add to such an extreme measure.
Some of them are not funny thought but should have complaints about them take the non smoking and Barbados adverts people shouldn't complain when they're telling the truth.
most of the complaints are just but hurt parents tho 😂😂
"ALL"
Yeah I can see why it’s parents
i dont get why the CO2 is controversial
Because it's scary I guess, but also I can't remember if it was aired before 9'oclock, then if yes, then its bound to have complaints.
Same, I think it was done well. It didn't mislead at all, and the ending made people think about their choices. Far too many people would rather silence things promoting thought rather than accepting blame.

A lot of these adverts I feel like are very effective. Especially the Hooked one.
I think the CO2 one was very, very gold! What's even wrong about it?
i think my conclusion is that for many they don't want to face up to what is happening and the truth, i wouldn't of banned that advert, i was disgusted when it got dropped, people are so pathetic
i agree with you kenny
Because it's simply not true. C02 is grossly exaggerated because every breathing animal on planet earth has been pumping hundreds of millions of tons of the stuff into the air for thousands of years.
There are these things called "trees" that actually TAKE IN C02 and convert it to oxygen.
But of course, if you live in a city your whole life you might forget that those exist. But that doesn't mean trees are extinct, if you actually look more than a few miles away from your front door.
NotAGoodUsername360 You forgot something... we are pumping more than ever before, Trees are being cut down also.
Blair Logie
Not nearly as much as you'd think. If you think that the majority of the world is clear cut, you've obviously never visited anywhere rural in the world.
Trees STILL outnumber cars a million to one, it'll take a lot more than 7 billion mammals to make a serious impact on the worldwide ecosystem.
"viewers complained this advert 'supported abortion'".
The life of a person is more important than an unbreathing mixture of cells.
^
+Supermegurwolf Not if said mixture of cells would otherwise have became a person.
But it may have been a product of rape, or the mother may not have been able to take care of it.

I live in the UK and I think some of these advertisements never needed to be banned. Not even the KFC one or the Volkswagen one.
The hooked advert really scared me as a kid, so much so that when they decided to advertise it in newspapers my Dad had to rip out the page and burn it.
How did the ad look like?
In the newspaper?
so we include naked women on the third page of public newspapers for all to see without anyone questioning it
but how dare they ever promote abortion! How dare you give women a choice!
Gosh, what a country.
It's hard to promote ripping babies apart with a suction tube. Not an easy sell. Too bad there aren't more heartless skanks like you here right?
Does anyone remember the ad with the guy coughing up a rat. Something to do with fake drugs I think..That made me sick :(

We do deserve to live, but we should be vegan. Sorry you don't like the truth bae.
"they're trying to shove it down people's throats!"
It's funny how most meat eaters tell vegans to chill and "respect their choice to eat meat" when they basically go around doing the exact opposite to nearly every vegan they come across. One rule for you and another rule for them, I assume?
HelloImAPizza lets leave it at that
Hibryd Music Great. Then I hope you leave this discussion more open-minded and less judgemental.
