If I remember correctly, Steinbrenner fired Buck for losing to Seattle in 1995. I think Steinbrenner wanted Buck to fire some of his coaches and Buck said no. Buck and Gene Michael created all those teams, Steinbrenner had nothing to do with it.

Buck is basically taking a stance of " Let's wait till the investigation is complete before we throw players and managers under the bus." Why is everyone triggered because of this?? I am talking to you Yankee and Dodger fans!! Players today have so much advance scouting available to them and the baseballs have tighter seams on them producing more homeruns. Yet nobody complains about this. They are crying about "technology being used" to steal signs, but nobody complains about i-pads being used in the dugouts to scout the opposing pitchers. Here's a solution, now that the technology is there, just let the pitcher and catcher communicate electronically, like in football. Select a pitch on the catcher's wrist guard (or manager's) and have an earpiece for the pitcher to hear it. It would take some experimentation, but bbn it might be interesting.

    • @ericbancker6963

Only thing with football is they communicate that in a huddle, away from the defense. In baseball you dont want the catcher calling things out within ear shot of the batter. You would have to change things so frequently just to throw people off.

@@ericbancker6963 The catcher wears a book on his wrist these days. They might be able to put a touch screen in there without inhibiting his play. Select the pitch from the preloaded options for that pitcher and play the audio in the pitcher's hat.
