I agree, but then I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that it looks way cooler in person and you just can’t catch it in the vid. I mean, subtle can work too.
The finish was just a veneer, so it required the paint to hide the seams. I agree that it looks better plain, but it isn't actually the wood, only a thin cover.
Pretty piece of artwork that we the simple mortals never gonna have in our hands... It is the equivalent to the Lamborghini of guitars... magnificent and unreachable... Ironically, only affordable by great guitar players of all times for whom this instrument gonna be just one more of his vast collection... and nothing more.
To say that guitar is beautiful seems like an understatement. The guitar build and the video of the build are both excellent. Thanks for sharing this with us.

While watching the video, I kept getting excited about what kind of guitar would be born. Finally the guitar was made. It's not just a guitar, it's a sounding sculpture. Keep showing me your awesome guitar. I've subscribed. Please do it too.or not. have happy days.
Love the way you made your own truss rod and the end result looks amazing but I'm not much of a veneer person, more of a solid wood person. And I'm more into hand built than CNC routed body's and necks. I think the craftsmanship on a hand built is better because you can feel the work that went into it. But owning a shop that puts out so many a year I can understand needing a CNC to keep up. But a nice looking guitar none the less.
This has been said by guitar makers countless time, again and again, but hand made is no way "better" than cnc. The bulk work is done by cnc, but the finishing touches is still done by humans. CNC is also simply a lot more accurate. It's all in your head mate...
Beautifull guitar! One mike recording from the rehearsal room unfortunately dimm's out the drums, when I still played in a band we used a 6 input mixing console for guitar, bass guitar, vocals en one drums overall and one basedrum mike, that really lightened up the sound!
I missed the part where you signed it! Fabulous work as always, it seems like you've got yourself a new line of work going on top of everything else you are doing, your guitars are honestly some of the most unique I've ever seen. Keep them coming!
I really dig how at the end you discover the driving soundtrack was played on this very instrument. Of course, it says it in the description, but who reads that before watching the video???
Spectacular! Such amazingly diverse skills to construct so many of the components of the guitar from scratch! Next time I expect that you will scratch build the strings as well ;-)
I also love watching the build videos from Crimson Guitars. And although the techniques you use for creating the body and neck are very different, both always turn into masterpieces. This was probably the most complex guitar build on your channel so far, but it’s also my favorite! Thanks for sharing!
That's very nice looking. A bit dark for such a beautifully figured piece of veneer. Really like the wood pick guard, but that string anchor worries me.
What is beautiful in this?? Nothing to do with real luthier work, almost everything is done by CNC machine. I guess soon comes the day where those same machines will play guitars...
With all your fine routing going on, you should seriously consider making an all wood inspired Eddie Van Halen Frankenstrat. That would look really cool!
I am very glad to watch the processes with high technology. And, of course, skills of your staff, too. So, I would like to hear the sound, any video here? I do not think the BGM one. By the way, was it good revealing your secrets so much on this video? Thanks a lot from Japan.
As the build progressed and the layered complexity of the build kept compounding onto its self I was thinking "Holy F%*# he is going to have at this piece with a blow torch!!! I was a little relieved when the black stain was being applied. I am sure if you decide to shou sugi ban a guitar it will be amazing. Bravo yet again. Best guitar build so far. Question?? Have you considered building guitars full time?
I must try burning it some day.. I had a couple of shou sugi ban projects with furniture and I really love it!. And for the question, I think about it a lot;)
wow... It was like the one facing scene... where's the gantry?? The robots are a very large surprise.... never seen that before. How the eff are you doing this?? Can you control a robot with G code from Fusion?? unbelievable

He says in the description that it’s stain, not paint. It would be rather pointless to go to the trouble of using such beautifully patterned veneer only to cover it with paint, wouldn’t it? Staining rather than painting it allows the grain to show through.
@@ragnkja You're right, but grain and contrast between layers is barely visible at least on video, but i think its all visible better if see in person
The grain can still be seen thru it.. when we applied the stain, I must admit I wanted to cry, but after few coats of poly and black burst, I was so glad we did it😁
I'm amazed by those robot arms! never thought that they can be used for such work... AMAZING!!!
Kamo sreće da mogu da priuštim sebi jednu ovakvu, za ljevoruku osobu. Svaka čast, momci!
Hvala puno Joker!:)
it's just me , but personaly i wouldn't have covered these gorgeous figured pieces of wood with black paint ^^
I agree, but then I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that it looks way cooler in person and you just can’t catch it in the vid. I mean, subtle can work too.

It’s not actually paint. They used a black stain then clear coated it
Wow! It makes you appreciate all the craftsmanship required to make a beautiful guitar.
I'm glad you like it Brian! :D
They downloaded a program into a cnc machine, where exactly was the craftsmanship?
Wow. You guys are artists. Bloody beautiful work.
This was the most satisfying video with one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever watched!!! Thank you so much!

Maybe, just maybe one day.. maybe.. ;)
I can imagine that it's 50x more impressive in person. Great work as always.
Thank you very much John! I need better lighting to catch the details better ;)
So amazing how much of these components you made from scratch. I half expected you to start making the pickups. Top tier as always.

I have a doubt, this kind of bridge doesnt make a little bit harder to tune the octaves? And this guitar is stunningly gorgeous

I’m curious what you used to put the truss rod in? The clear stuff you used in the channel. Was it just hot glue or like silicon?
