Pure craftmanship from start to finish.Stunning work. And no daft music or inane chat.Just honest workshop noises.Impressive video.Beautiful instrument.
Proper craftsmanship, many luthiers these days are just assemblers, you appear to have a gift and I for one look forward to seeing……..and hearing more of your guitars.
Fantastic job, but TruOil is really a varnish and is slightly glossy, can be sticky. I've found that the best for necks is genuine tung oil (not "tung oil finish") cut 50/50 with mineral spirits. Apply, wipe off, dry overnight repeat the next day. Dry again. Then two coats of quality wax. Silky smooth, no warping problems to date.
Wow! For a first build I’m Really Impressed! I’m a retired broke down old furniture maker, but I’ve always wanted to make a guitar. I think you just talked me into giving it a go? Thanks 👍🏻
@wendyandgeoffpattison2610 The channel routed between the pickups would look weird, the copper shield would show off etc...If decided ahead off time , a no pickguard build is possible and could have been nice. Walnut is hard enough to cope with the struming, and oil finish are easy to maintain/repair. But that's not what have been decided, and the guitar is gorgeous as is..
That was like meditating. Watching a true artisan at work. Yours is a skill level that many can appreciate and few could replicate. You made a piece of art that sounds truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your process 🙏
I personally would have opted for gold hardware, gold lipstick p/u, black bridge and no pick guard. Still a very beautiful, professional build from start to finish... BRAVO!! ❤
Well done - I loved that you used unconventional woods for the neck / fingerboard - a fearless approach. The final product looked really nice and sounded great. Can't believe that is your first build!
Now that is hand crafted! I love how you did the finish. There is NO way I could cover that up with paint. I would spend more time looking at it than playing it. Amazing job and I love your wood choices.
This was so nice to watch. As a new owner of a tele I’m glad youtube suggested your channel. There is something about the guitar having no brand on it that I love.
I love the fret cutting jig you made using the top edge of the saw as the stop, quite clever. I think the fretboard is probably the most terrifying aspect of attempting a build like this. Maybe that and all the chiseling! thanks for sharing, great video.
That is a beautiful Telecaster, the Telecaster is my guitar of choice, I have always wanted a neckthrough Telecaster, seeing yours has made me think of a Walnut neckthrough model. I was glad you chose an oil finish, it complements walnut so much.
And that my friends is how they built the Pyramids of Giza ! Know how ,talent ,intelligence ,proper planning ,and of course the correct tools for the job at hand .... What a rare ,rare , honest to goodness pleasure ! Best wishes from Scotland .
Excellent work on the guitar and excellent video. Really like how crafted it with only a few basic power tools. The video is a complete tutorial on the steps involved. Great work IMHO.
You absolutely put on a clinic, from your intentionality to your skillful execution. What a completely STUNNING guitar. Well done in every way, and thank you for sharing this with the world.
This is what i am talking about, no fancy tools, just pure craftmanship, now you have to build another one and make a video of that build to, maybe build a Walnut Strat so that the Telecaster has a similar friend to talk to when the lights out, or even more massive, a walnut Explorer or Les Paul.. looking forward to next buildvideo.. :D
This guy knows what he’s doing. I would change the sequence of some of the steps in fear of a future mistake. But he was confident he would do it right and he did. Congrats champ.
This was absolutely spectacular to watch. Talk about *truly handmade in every sense of the word*. No CNC machines here, brother. I'll look forward to having you make me one of these. I didn't realize there were true craftsmen making gems like this anymore. WOW. I'm speechless. What an astonishingly beautiful instrument.
Beautiful guitar. Very cool woods for the neck and fretboard. Of course the walnut is great. The guitar sounds really good. Great hand work. Congratulations!!
What a skill to have. I am sure the actual process in real time is way involved and harder than it looks on the time lapse video. HATS OFF TO YOU BROTHER! 🙏🏽
I did a very similar build about 15years ago and created a walnut precision body for a maple Fender bass neck I had acquired. Absolutely beautiful with only an oiled finish, but holy crap is that machine heavy! I didn’t cut away the “beer belly relief” which didn’t help with the weight. I still use it occasionally because it sustains for ever and still looks like a million bucks. Active Seymour Duncans have also been great pickups for this build. Nice job dude!!
Wow! That’s a very nice guitar build! That’s is inspiring ! I have done some DIY kits but I never had the curage to built one guitar from scratch ! You are giving me the right path to go! Thank you for sharing your experience ! 👍
Being a retired woodworker and a guitarist This is a perfect thing for me to try Always wanted a Tele.
I’d love to try it in a Stratocaster design. There’s just something about all those beautiful curves. 😅
I would be immensely proud if I could produce a guitar like this from scratch. True craftsmanship, and a thing of beauty.
Pure craftmanship from start to finish.Stunning work. And no daft music or inane chat.Just honest workshop noises.Impressive video.Beautiful instrument.
😊
Well yeah, but if it wasn’t for computers and CNC machines we be paying through the nose 👃 for our guitars 🎸 today.
I must say, this is one of the finest guitar constructions I have come across!
There is nothing on this guitar that isn't truly stunning. The wood colors and grain.....wow. Excellent work!!
Wow, thank you!
Great build … great to see someone use “ordinary big box tools” to produce such quality of work 👍👍👍
Your first build?? Wow. That's stunning. You sir are a true artist.
Proper craftsmanship, many luthiers these days are just assemblers, you appear to have a gift and I for one look forward to seeing……..and hearing more of your guitars.
Thank you! More builds are coming so stay tuned 👍
How wonderful to see it done mostly by hand.
You keep developing your woodworking skills that way and not relying on machinery all the time.
Thank you very much!
That was one of the nicest 27 minutes I've spent in a while! Nice build, beautiful work. You made it look easy. I hope you make more.
Thanks mate, appreciate it! Stay tuned for future builds for sure 👍
😊

@@greensguitars привет! мне нравиться название твоего канала...бро!🤣 ты продаешь сделанные тобой инструменты!? спасибо!🙂
I watched breathless...so much respect. Sell them globall, you will sell them all. Fender made some....only some. 👍👍👍
That Tru Oil is a great "go to" finish for natural wood. It really brings out the color in the body. Nice work!
Thanks 👍
@@greensguitars hi from Epernay, France. Please, what kind of jig did you use to round the curves with your drill ! Thanks
I bought a 20 piece drum sanding kit from my local tool shop which seemed to fit the need well
Tru oil are sticky on neck from my experience

I am blown away! Such precision, magic and depth of presence. What a guitar. Astounding process. Thankyou for displaying such creative mastery.
Wow… Thank you!
Loved every minute of this! Superb workmanship ❤
Just wow, that is BEAUTIFUL! Great work!
Wow! For a first build I’m Really Impressed! I’m a retired broke down old furniture maker, but I’ve always wanted to make a guitar. I think you just talked me into giving it a go? Thanks 👍🏻
That’s very rewarding to hear!
Hey! It's been a year and I'm wondering if you made a guitar?
One year later, how is that guitar build going 🎸
Or did you make something else?
I never even skipped the video. Wow. What a piece of art
Anyone else just loving the white pickguard!
So simple, so tasteful
I’m glad you like it!
Dark walnut and white are always lovely together. Mid-century modern furniture often used that look.
@wendyandgeoffpattison2610 The channel routed between the pickups would look weird, the copper shield would show off etc...If decided ahead off time , a no pickguard build is possible and could have been nice. personally felt that a black pickguard wouldve been better looking but each to thier own

A beautiful custom telecaster with a great, individual sound. I would love to see more custom build's like for sale.
I personally would have opted for gold hardware, gold lipstick p/u, black bridge and no pick guard. Still a very beautiful, professional build from start to finish... BRAVO!! ❤
Great achievement building yourself a guitar from scratch. Looks and sounds great. You should be very proud of yourself, well done
Now that's a Tele I would buy.
Beautiful build!!!
Well done - I loved that you used unconventional woods for the neck / fingerboard - a fearless approach. The final product looked really nice and sounded great. Can't believe that is your first build!
when he fretted the board before putting it onto the neck, i realized this had to be his first build...😂 but looks great nevertheless!
@@jimi272 For me it where he didn't drill the body holes before scrubbing the template off. That was dumb.
...a real ARTIST ! that's incredible! magic hands! and also a great guitarist!
What a beautiful build what a talented craftsman this man is truly amazing what some people can do!
Now that is hand crafted! I love how you did the finish. There is NO way I could cover that up with paint. I would spend more time looking at it than playing it. Amazing job and I love your wood choices.
Awesome built man! I so envy people with the space to have tools and skills to use them in such a beautiful way!

Excellent work on the guitar and excellent video. Really like how crafted it with only a few basic power tools. The video is a complete tutorial on the steps involved. Great work IMHO.
That is a very beautiful guitar. Well done.
This has inspired me to want to build a guitar from scratch like this. Always wanted a 60s style telecaster, so why not build it! Amazing work..
Nice build! I love walnut, and tele's.
Never really like the Telecaster profile, but enjoyed every second of this awsome building. Thumbs up!
Great job! Beautiful pieces of wood. It looks and sounds amazing!
You absolutely put on a clinic, from your intentionality to your skillful execution. What a completely STUNNING guitar. Well done in every way, and thank you for sharing this with the world.
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
Walnut is so underrated. I have two and they are both great.
Some pedal steel guitar builders in the USA use walnut as well.
I have a walnut lap steel.
High quality walnut is very expansive ( used mainly in top quality fire arms) , yes its a very nice wood.

Awesome job!!! Beautiful Telecaster!😉😉
Echo everyone. Great 'Slow TV Relaxation' to boot! Video production parallels the guitar making AND recording process - cool, calm -AND beautiful.
Awesome work, great effort documenting it all so well 😊
you are a true artisan!!!! Excellent work. Very inspiring
Amazing. Personally I think gold hardware would look much cooler on a dark wood with a black pickguard.
Ya, that would look really good as well.
Agree on the gold hardware. Seems to look best on natural and see-thru finishes.
Agree 👍💯
Gold hardware is like a gold tooth... it never looks good 🤓

Wow. You're such a skilled dude and a big inspiration to me. Thank you for this build. It's an amazing piece of work ❤
Such a beautiful guitar! You have to be proud of yourself 😊 Amazing.
Gorgeous wood and beautiful work!
OMG, this is the guitar I have always thought of in my head. Well.done!
Great Work! It's fantastic to see the whole process. You have a nice sound at the end there as well.
Thanks!
Beautiful job Mr. Green. Breathtaking indeed. Now I might've gone with brass for my metal bits, including the nut, but that's a niggling point.
Excellent build! I really enjoyed watching your process and skills. Thanks for posting this video and sharing your talent.
All I can say after watching this is.... Wow. Amazing craftsmanship
I want to order you to make a guitar like that.
Please let me know its price and payment method. I'm from Vietnam.
Great tone! It's not bright like a Fender, yet not dark like mahogany. A nice middle ground. That one is a keeper for sure!!
make 1 a week and sell them for a $1,000 Bucks Good Job
If you have customers...
This is way more than just a 1000 bucks.
Fantastic job. This Telecaster will play with "heart" and love for HER.Ceers "Greens Guitars " of one old Telecaster man.👍
Looks like it weighs 20 pounds
I built a walnut feel after seeing this and i had to hollow it out and add contours
I made one like this. It’s heavier than other guitars, but not terrible.
Think of the sustain
That is a lot of walnut…
Con madera y alguna electrónica has hecho magia. Hermosa guitarra!!!!
The Telecaster the Queen of all guitars all the way !Fantastic work
Something about that body with the lipstick pickup just manifests the tele sound every time awesome job pure craftsmanship

Mercy. What a beautiful tele.
Awesome job, this one was screaming for a black pick guard!!
That is art, just as much as the music that will be played on it
What a skill to have. I am sure the actual process in real time is way involved and harder than it looks on the time lapse video. HATS OFF TO YOU BROTHER! 🙏🏽

So simple design from 50's but it looks so beautiful nowadays
Simply BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT!
