I'm not showering in cold water...sorry, just can't...I'm 54 and have hated cold weather/temps since birth! But, I didn't close the video...heard it all the way through. Do my best to keep vices in check...quit drinking over a year ago...I can make a pack of smokes last an entire week...workout daily, maintain a fit 135-140 lbs...

You see that's where you are wrong. I have given about 150 O2Trainers away fro free, same as with my workouts, Would say 10 people used it. When I let them pay and keep their money in an envelope and tell them they will get their money back when they did it three months, then they use it. If it's free, you didn't waste anything and it makes easier to quit, when you pay you want to finish it because you paid for it. But if you can achieve it without paying, please do, you be one of the 5% oafs people who can, so that would be cool. That's why I pay for my Exodus myself, sure I am sure they send me a free code when I ask, but for the reason I explained, I pay for it. Just ordered three pieces of cold water soap from their site as well!
Bas, je bent al zo'n 20 jaar mijn favoriete vechter. Ik ben niet katholiek, maar wel een Christen. Een paar weken geleden was ik aan het bidden over mijn "vices". Ineens sprak God en zei "geef Me 90 dagen". Ik begreep het eerst niet helemaal maar na nog een paar dagen bidden opende ik mijn UA-cam en stond jouw video ineens bovenaan. Pick something you know you're doing that isn't good for you and cut it out (drinking, smoking, eating junk food, indulging in gossip, engaging in having imaginary arguments with people etc).

My hot water line froze Dec 2022 and I just fixed it Nov 23 the cold showers were bad for 11 months. I guess I need to stop procrastinating on fixing things that's definitely a weakness. God bless you Bas in this new year.

Even OJ and Conor McGregor might say Sean has 'impulse-control problems'. -Hey Bas, we knew some of the same people in the '90s when I lived in Las Vegas, I suspect, back when J-Sect was just starting. The late Tommy Glanville of K-1 taught me the low kick at a gym one day; he once introduced me to Maurice Smith, what peach of a guy, and one of the smoothest kickboxers ever, I think. I trained for fun at One-Kick Nick's gym later, back when all the bouncers were learning the low kick from Tommy to get an edge on the boxers in the clubs. ;) I miss those days. @@OfficialBasRutten

Godspeed! You are my hero. I'd say I'm pretty tough, but starting now, my mission is to become as cool as you. It is no resolution, it is a personal mission, it doesn't end after one year, it is a lifetime mentality right. After doing topsport gymnastics for 14 years and Mixed Martial Arts for my entire puberty, playing videogames had become "my escape" .. Yesterday, I've already deleted everything, games, passwords of platforms that provide games, 2step-verfication passwords, headphones, macro's and profiles on my mouse and keyboard, literally every single lose end I can come up with has to, as the CIA likes to say, go in burn bags and be gone.
Thanks Bas, btw, I've known you since I had you as my favourite character on my PSP when I was literally 14 or so, with this game called WWE, funny coincidence is that in that time I was in New York visiting family, I understand you live in the States now. Later in life when I started MMA, I wanted to be undefeated, a juggernaut, just like you. Well, at least I'm undefeated in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019, having 302 Juggernaut Killstreaks on my name.
Now, since I'm studying a BSc Mathematics at university after barely getting my "Gymnasium", while also in this elite US program Dan Klein is providing, you confirm I'm on the right path, I know people are not supposed to make images of God, but when I'm in hard times struggling with loneliness and look up literally, guess who I see, you. I was gonna say thanks brother, but you're a mentor to me, saving my life over and over again from mentally breaking, just like Tupac btw :)

Now try to find a replacement, not a vice of course, but maybe a skill, new language, other interesting studies, but you need something to fill the empty space now, otherwise it might trigger you to get back. MMA, that's it, you need to know it all, if you are a boxer and fight a wrestler, you will be taken to the ground(you MIGHt stop him before, but that's a might) and this counts the other way around as well, so the best is to train MMA

I currently don't have any resolutions given I challenge myself the year around. But I'll give a shot to some.
My new years resolution was to read more of the bible I started at genesis and so far made it to matthew 26. The problem is we tend to make our resolutions too difficult or too easy. I found it is better to try and find a middle ground. Hope you and your family had a merry Christmas and have a happy new year godbless and be safe out there bas.

Nice! It's just the stepping into it, once that is over it ain't that bad and thereat thing about it is that you immediately are warm when you stop the water. Normally in winter time, as soon as you turn the heat off, you are extra cold, haha

hey Bas if you could answer that would be awesome, I do your cable punch routine on the regular but using resistance band, I was wondering what I should do when a resistance become easy at 25 reps, increase the resistance of the bands or try to get more reps in ? or maybe try to do it extrememly fast ? thanks, this routine got me punching so hard I thanks you a tons for that...

I've done the cold shower thing before and its not as hard as you think. (don't do it if you have a head cold) You can jump right in, or start with a warm shower and soak for a few seconds of just cold at the end, extending the time as you go on. Eventually, at least for me, you realize that level of cold is just a sensation and you can choose how you can react to it.
Not easy in the winter. Super helpful in the summer. Ever take a shower and still feel sweaty when you dry off? Take a cold shower instead. You feel refreshed.
From my perspective, the hardest part of taking a cold shower that first step. Meet it with calm, and it will be a lot easier.
Maybe I'll give it another try this year. Warm/ hot showers are certainly hard to give up.
I'm not certain why the Exodus 90 recommends cold showers, but I think there is something to be said for becoming comfortable with the idea of discomfort. I can't speak for any but myself, but in our modern and super convenient society, it is very easy to be comfortable, and we all know what they say about smooth seas and sailors.
You hit the nail on the head, it's good to comfortable with uncomfortable!
I feel that a lot of that is just will power...or lack of that. I know a couple of guys that will take a dip in Lake Ontario in February every year...but then will proceed to down a bottle of Jack Daniels. So, on one hand you have incredible will power, and then, a complete lack of it. I just feel that eliminating one's vices is different for different individuals. There isnt a "one size fits all" plan of action. Making yourself into a "better" person takes looking at yourself objectively, as if you were another person. That's really hard for some folks to do... because theyre afraid of what they'll see.
Good answer, but it IS a "one size fits all plan", we all have just different vices that we need to cut out. You do this, you also can't drink, so then when the guys jump in the cold (I dod this every day?) they cannot drink a bottle a liquor, most of the time, those guys won't do this, maybe later in life when those things are going to control them. That is a hard one, custody of the eyes my friend, any lady you look at for more than 3, 4 sec, and she is beautiful, your mind starts playing tricks. I tell myself this: "What do I gain by looking at them for more than 5 sec?" The answer is nothing, it can only get you in trouble, plus I wouldn't like it if my wife would keep staring at cool guys, haha, so I don't it to her either. I had that problem (many guys do) now I thankfully don't, but I still need to be aware! Good luck with it

I try to make life time resolutions not just a yearly one.
90 days is a time where the body is used to something new, and then it automatically blends into the rest of your life. After I was done with E90 my SM went down for 90%. This is just to kick start you in the right direction and hopefully you stay with it. You ALWAYS have to simply start

This is what I just wrote to somebody else: No, the deal is that you have to do things you do NOT like, it's the only way to get stronger. In fact, in many interviews I say that you have to at least do 1 or 2 things a day you don't like. Life isn't "only good", when we try to avoid everything that is confrontational, we will get weaker and weaker, just look at the world. In your case, I would ONLY focus on your addiction, get that done and then next year do it? I mean, I went through withdrawal myself and the last thing you need is that, when you are in the middle of it, taking cold showers. Because your body is freaking out enough already. Hope you get it done, to me, it was the best thing I ever did (kicking addiction), there will be a whole new world, so again, good luck with it!

I like to end my hot showers with a cold rinse but not the same as going without heat! Ever try fasting Bas? Try out a 5 day to get to that metamorphosis-level autophagy.
That's on my list actually, my buddy did 40.5 days, crazy! Your growth hormone apparently shoots up like over a 1000 times I heard, so yeah, I will do it, probably after the 90 days since the cold showers are going be insane when you don't eat and you have nothing in you to warm your body up with
@@OfficialBasRutten That's right, Guapo! I did 9 days on a beach in Ecuador with Apple cider vinegar and some other supplements and lost over 30 pounds. Then like an ancient animal sign that I should have kept going, this poodle takes a humongous turd in front of my first meal and ruined the meal to say the least... You could also try a 36 hour fast first then ramp up to acclimate

As a fellow catholic, during lent you set aside those 40 plus days giving things up and such. I found that I could avoid a vice for lent, the following year I started a week early. Year after that added another week. Well, I have been without that vice for 8 months now.
Before washing myself I stand for around a minute under a cold shower, then wash myself using the warm water. After that cold shower again. Is this kind of stuff allowed?

"Only cold showers". Okay Bas, but you live in a really warm climate. I live in Northern Norway, where it is freezing almost all year long, and I cannot afford a lot of heating. So I will literally not warm up properly for HOURS after I take a freezing cold shower. My house is freezing and if I am cold a lot of the day, I get really, really sick. I already walk around with a jacket inside in the winter, but I still can't heat my body up properly. Only cold showers would literally put me at risk of heart attack. What are you talking about from down in volcano-hot Texas, dude? This is so silly. You obviously benefit from cold showers because you live in a tropical climate. I am usually a fan but this is silly.
