The Daily habits of Bas Rutten

- This is Bas, many times I talk about "forming good habits" and once you have formed a good habit, to not break that habit.
People always ask about what my routine is in the morning, about my stretching routine, working out, and the most asked question: "What do I take for supplements?"
Every single morning, for years, I have the same routine, the first (minimum) 2.5 hours of my day are phone and internet free.
It has made a huge impact in my life so I simply never break this habit. Meaning, if I had a huge party the day before, drank too much and have a bad hangover, I will NOT break this habit. Once you start forming good habits, they will improve your life dramatically.
These are the supplements I take. Again, this is a question I get the most, so I will write them down:
L-Arginine ( "Argi-9+" is what I have)
Ubiquinol CoQ10 (any good brand)
FOCL is its own brand, nobody else does what they do, super high quality, vegan, stress fighting ancient botanicals, they just arrived on the market this year I believe and they have:
FOCL Day (ingredients for your memory, alertness, focus etc PLUS they add CBD to it, to make it work even better, to me this has been a game changer!!)
FOCL Night (ingredients to calm down, fights anxiety, promotes sleepiness, etc, again, they add CBD. This made me dream again, which I didn't do for YEARS! I feel immediately good when waking up, game changer to me as well!)
Omega-3 (find a good brand)
Magnesium (find a good brand)
MSM and Actistatin for inflammation, cartilage, joint and muscle support (I get it from GLCDirect.com, I love what they have)

It’s a shame that this man doesn’t do commentary for the UFC. I loved his work for Pride.
joe rogan, bas rutten and michael bisping. would be legendary
@@jekkt that would be amazing
I would like him to do commentary for the Rizin, because its only commentated in japanese
He does commentating for karate combat
Bas will do it better then slimeball joe rogan
Bas takes pills like he's about to pass security at a prodigy concert
hahaha,,,
Still in great shape for a old fucker
😂
@Easy Lee Uhhh, during Bas time there was no testing at all. Pride virtually encouraged the fighters to take steroids.
I think he is ofcourse "natural" now but I'm sure he takes TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy).
sfx never fought Pride, ones the commentator, maybe I needed a bigger voice?
Man chugs an entire cup of coffee right before meditating. Absolute legend.
I met Bas when I was 15 at a UFC in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Old school UFC days - like, before zuffa, before Dana White. When you're young, and you love MMA, meeting Bas F'n Rutten is a big deal. Me and a buddy of mine, being just young and stupid enough to get away with it, snuck backstage and just kind of acted like we belonged there. LOL, there was literally like no security at all, so we just kind of slipped into the back and just just kind of hung out back behind where the fighters walked out. Man, I met all my heroes. Kevin Randleman, Pedro Rizzo, Mark Coleman, Mario Sperry, John Lewis, Jens Pulver, Yves Edwards - All the old guard mma dudes. But, Bas was legit the coolest dude I met. Just cool, man. He was cornering this dude name Ted Williams and I remember when I saw him I got kind of nervous. That had never happened to me before. I had never been like star struck or whatever. But, I was super young, and I LOVED mma. Not just UFC, but old pride stuff, old pancrase stuff - all of it. And Bas, at the time, was by FAR my favorite fighter.
Either way, when I met him, he was super nice to me, more than any of the other fighters. I guess he could tell I was just some hick kid who really like training and MMA and stuff - and at the time, UFC / MMA was not really all that big in the US. He shook my hand, asked me how long I had been training, gave me some pointers on training, and was just a fuckin' cool dude to me - even though he didn't have to be. Since then I've always rutted for Bas in whatever he did. And I always remembered him being cool to me for no other reason than he was a legit good dude. It's little shit like that that leaves impressions on a young mind and carries over for years to come. I'm 37 now, and I've trained in kickboxing, BJJ, and wrestling for going on 20 years. Martial arts, the 'warrior poet' archetype, it's something that endures. It doesn't die with time - and Bas is a legit big reason that I initially got into that lifestyle. I thank him for that, for sure.
What a frickin sweet story. Congrats on meeting the legend himself
Great to hear! I got to meet my childhood inspiration semmy schilt at a local gym where i lived. He took it over and its now a kickboxing school in a quite troubled neighbourhood.
Awesome

I rewatched this because I (like many here) have looked up to Bas my entire life. When I am going through whatever my life is throwing at me, I look for inspiration in trusted sources. Bas has always been an anchor for me…
Praying the rosary while doing the splits. Legend. Thank you for being a good representative of the faith.
My morning is a little different. It goes coffee, then a huge #2. That’s it.
Mine too, I can't eat anything in the morning right away.

Walking the dog with a leash AND picking up after it, A+ sir.

Pure inspiration from Uncle Bas!
Bas, a real life "laughing lion" in Nietzschean terms, your daily habits are the bitcoin standard in terms of workout efficiency, time mgt, all combined with large spaces left for laughter, meditation, and "fence left open time with dog exploration."
After all your battle Royales throughout your Pride fighting days, the serenity and calm of your house makes sense. Those thunder bolts you delivered in Pride liver kicks still reverberate today, the shots heard around the world to everyone's liver watching lol.
Ty, Bas for all the inspiration and battle tested lessons you have given us inside and outside the arena. In all your recuperation, you are highlighting the German philosophers Nietzsche adage that "..which does not destroy you only makes you stronger.." as well as the insight founded on the Rock of Ages that "the truth shall set us all free."
Hope you can join Randy Coture in a future Expendables movie. Pacifico beer cheers, Bas
pool workout is great helped me recover after surgery !Thanx Bas!!!
Bedankt Bas dat je ons een kijkje gunt in je dagelijks leven. Keep up the good work! Trouwens, wat een geweldig idee om de rozenkrans bij stretchen te gebruiken!
Bas is the man! Just saw him speak at my church. He’s one of the good ones!
Living legend... Met him when I fought in the IFL many years ago. What a cool guy. And definitely the Alpha in the room! Godspeed!
One of your students is my best friend. G. Russell Reynolds taught me much about self respect and courage. His story about sparring with you made me piss myself. Thank you, Bass for your generous spirit, and leading with the price you paid to be great in your sport. My dad also suffered early on with both excema and asthma as so many kids do...not me thank you very much.
Truly 1 of 1 Bas, keep being awesome!
Thanks Bas, take care.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing! God bless
Hey Bas! I had a shoulder injury from a car accident not too long ago... I stumbled across Indian club swinging ( I know sounds weird lol) but the exercises really helped me get mobility back in my shoulder and helped with strength with just 5 minutes a day... maybe it can help with your right arm... but start with the 1lb clubs you'd be suprised how hard it is! You can get them on Amazon... many respects Bas!
Thanks Bas ! Great video.
You need to do a seminar about taking 20 pills at once. I choke on my 4 in the morning.
Seriously, I just watched him shotgun the equivalent of my change dish and came to the comments to see if that shit really happened.
The trick is to put all of them on your tongue and then you take a very big sip of water. It's important to make a big sip so your esophagus opens enough for all the pills. Really fill your whole mouth with water before swallowing. Also increase step by step as your technique improves.
Awesome daily routine, especially the praying Bas! Thanks for sharing.
You have a beautiful home! Thanks for sharing your routine, being as healthy and successful as you are I ought to take some of that and put it into my own life.
One of the best fighter's ever , learn from him while he is here , on this challenging world.
Respect to you Bas! Hope you do fine and your family! Dios te bendiga
Amazing man and a great role model for anyone. Thanks for sharing.
6am-10pm schedule, good to see it in action!
Just a all around legend! Peace in Love...
Hello Bas, have you looked into any therapy utilising psilocybin regarding your atrophy? It's still in trials, but humans have been using them for thousands of years, a natural treatment. I'm assuming you possibly have already tried, but potentially mixing small doses before a workout may spark a connection?
Much love Bas, you've inspired me and so many it's an honest relief to see you living such a full life, Pádraigín.
Great idea to do the Rosary while stretching, I never thought of that. Thanks for sharing your routine brother, peace be with you. Viva Cristo Rey!

Not of works, lest any man should boast.
