Anyone running at Bas Rutten in his prime has to be crazy
Hell, anyone running at Bas Rutten now has to be crazy.
At his best he was scary …. Typical badass look .
In a fight only Kevin randelman made him look human
@@zibtihaj3213 Totally agree
@@zibtihaj3213 Bas had the flu during that fight.
I can assure u in a ufc fight , flue will not effect u …. Just the adrenaline will compensate
For anyone curious, the registering hands as weapons myth comes from Joe Louis. Before a fight, to intimidate his opponent. He even had his team dress as cops to come along and help him "sign the register".
Truth is that there is very little legal difference between someone who can fight and someone who can not fight when it comes to self-defence. As a matter of fact, someone who can fight is much more likely to defend themselves in a legal manner than someone who cannot.
People who don't know wtf they are doing can end up being just as dangerous because they will kill someone accidentally, like punching someone repeatedly in the back of the head, etc. Sad thing is usually those people are getting in fights with people they know, drunkenly, and someone ends up dead.
People with real martial arts training usually have a lot more self discipline, just as a matter of requirement to even go into that field of study, and know when use of force is required, how to apply it, and when it's not required anymore. Notice I precluded that statement with "usually". Some martial artists turn out later to be roided-up freaks who murder their girlfriend.
@@gmf8171 Absolutely correct. I'd rather get beaten by someone who knows when to stop and how much force to apply, rather than someone who is going ape because that's when things become more dangerous.
@Jack Wrong. Either you have the legal right to defend yourself or you don't. The amount of skill you use to do so is not a factor.
@Jack Case?
@Jack Wait a second, assault is illegal? Even if your a "martial artist"?! No wayyyyyy!
The problem is that so many like to antagonize to get that reaction from them, then when the consequences of their words come, they wanna run off to the judge crying. Weak ass people we’ve become
I call the behaviour "the predator playing the victim.....
I believe it's mental illness. I've known a few guys like that and they all displayed signs of mental illness. All were heavy drug users and/or alcoholics, displayed bipolar and potential schizophrenia. They also were from families who were dysfunctional esp. in the sexual sense.
@@izzybluffin820 Disgusting behavior.
Yes you have
Bas is a fucking legend! My 2 favorite Bas stories are when Brian Urlacher tried to start a fight with him, and when Bas choked out a guy in a bar fight and the guy wakes up with his pants down and a bottle of tabasco stuck in his ass and the whole bar laughing at him.
There use to be a myth in sixties that if you practiced martial arts you had register your hands as deadly weapons. Apparently there is an element of truth of this in Japan. I was seriously told when I was there that if you are a resident and ranked Sandan or above in a Martial Art your are supposed to inform your local police!
Is it actually a myth? A guy I knew went to prison for punching someone in the UK. He said as a pro boxer he had to register.
@@jewellui No, you don’t have to register in the U.K. but if you kill someone and the court knows that you have trained in something and have a much higher ability than the average person, then they will take that into account when sentencing!
I think the reason behind the Japanese having to tell their local police is a old throwback, and has more to do with them calling on you if the country is under threat of attack.
@@jewelluiyes completely a myth show me any form to register your hands
Eating a head kick by Bas as bad as get hit by a car lmao
My backhand had to be registered as a silencer.
Ryan doesn't like girls
LOL
A person has the right to defend themselves or their family
It’s essentially a factor that can be used against you
I work in law, its basically something that the other side will bring essentially as an emotional appeal but will hold little legal significance.
Hide your liver, here comes Bas!!
If you know then you know but those that dont..don't... it's hard to describe how terrifying it would be to fight bas rutten in his prime, on the street. These guys must have been very very intoxicated.
I read "intoxicated" in GSP voice, lol.
I read it in bispings voice
Yes this guy is a great fighter , really unique, impressive
Anybody kills anybody in a fight, it's INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER. - Cliff Booth
Depends on the circumstances, like using a gun
@@charlesterrizzi8311 wrong.
There's a lot of confusion about this subject actually. From what i can tell there is no legal classification for knowing how to fight in the us. However (!!!) if you are convicted of a fighting related crime a judge could absolutely factor your physical advantage in sentencing. Think of it as a responsibility multiplier. The much more likely scenario is civil court. Any lawyer ever born would make your physical prowess the center piece of a wrongful injury suit, just as they would with drug/alcohol use etc...
They told me the same shit when I earned my black belt, but no, it’s not true there’s no legal basis that separates someone with combat experience and legally makes your hands weapons
It definitely won't help you in court, the prosecution or even the defense in some scenario, might and probably will try to convince the jury that you had a dominant advantage and should have stopped the fight with less damage. It's the same stupid argument they use against cops all the time.
@@gmf8171 why the defense would do that? That's just not true
@@AlejandroCab98 Because in some scenarios, the person with the martial arts background might be the Plaintiff and not the Defendant....
You didn't really stop to think about that, did you
@@gmf8171 i work in law, so I did think about it, and there are no plaintiffs in criminal cases, which is what people are referring to here
Street fighting is illegal in most places but there are some states in the U.S. where mutual combat is allowed.
Yeah they call that battery actually. Sanctioned sports fighting is different. Google really can help build your knowledge base
Self defending is very limited but it's legal normally
There's only 2 states where mutual combat isn't outlawed.Even then, you still have to deal with a civil suite from the party that suffered serious bodily injury.
I was an amateur boxer and we had to sign a contract registering our hands. Trainer said we had to tell people we were boxers before hitting them.
“Anyone who accidentally kills another man in a fight goes to jail, it’s called manslaughter”
-Cliff Booth
"Who takes care of the paperwork to register your hands as lethal weapons, the DMV?" Michael "The Count" Bispbing.
It's funny how Bas kicks "normal man" his skull is broken, teeth gone, jaw broken, it's scary. We just don't see this in pro fighting, the aftermath.
Then he explains self defense to a bunch of grown men, like they are 5.
Its a mix of two things. One is a shin. Two, it was from a running counter. Bas was a 205 pound fighter.
It's funny how Bas is full of shit like that uncle boomer that exaggerates his stories and his naive fanboys eat all of the shit up 🤡💩
I was in a mutual comvat situation, and i was told that if my feet leave the floor, its an automatic ADW. If i hadnt kicked him i wouldnt have even been arrested but, as i said it was a mutual combat situation so, it was considered self defense in court. Either way, they violated my probation and reinstated it. And told me to keep my feet on the floor. Lol
Bas is the man. Always plenty of great entertaining stories
I don't feel sorry for people who pick fights and lose
Prime Bas was like one of the OG BMFs, he's not old but older and he'd still kill you with his hands and not break a sweat.
That’s why if u go out make sure someone with u has a camera ready to roll if u are in altercation. As u will need proof of them starting it.
This is the 21st century where we have smartphones for that.😂
@KWillo yes cameras are on smart phones. Very good.
Class Bas Rutten. 💥
Sometimes bad people meet karma and sometimes in the form of bas ruttens shin.
great scene from once upon a time in hollywood, where brad pitts charactor state you kill anyone in a fight its manslaughter
Reasonable force is the law
I'm not sure (don't really care to look it up right now) that in Jamaica you need a licence if you practice martial arts and/or cage fighting. Seems like most places in the world if you train in fighting you are registered as a weapon so to speak. If you fight and cause bodily harm you can be charged with use of a deadly weapon unless (depending in the situation) you can prove absolutely that was nothing more than self defence.
I like when I saw people who says "I'm dangerous when see red"
I saw this guy, I did not know he was that good
Nice to hear bas still thinks in Dutch after all these years. he wanted to say mijn vrouw instead of my wife
Good thing i dont have any fights on my record baby lets go
Their capabilities can constitute a “disparity of force,” which comes into consideration under ability, the “A” in the AOJ/P deadly-force triad. Obviously, their capabilities are to be considered in cases of nondeadly force, too.
Bas Rutten is still prime!
I hate this line of thought. It doesn't matter if you are a professional fighter or not. If you fight with someone and it becomes a legal matter, it wasn't any more illegal for a professional fighter to be in that fight than it is for anyone else. The only thing that would be considered with that is how badly the professional beat the other person. Was it reasonable force, or did he take it farther than necessary. Which is the same thing they consider for anyone else in that situation actually. You might find cases where they did take it into consideration, but that doesn't mean it was more or less legal for them to fight than anyone else. The law has to apply equally across the board. Otherwise, their lawyer could bring a motion to dismiss based on that. This is ego more than anything else, ego and Hollywood.
Well you’re correct, remember he was in court in another country. In the United States the fact that you fight professionally would have little to do with anything you would be judge on whether or not the actions you took were appropriate.
In america this isnt a thing.
Its on them. That said you cant get into fist fights in america the only state i know of with mutual combat is washington. Everywhere else its a misdemeanor and in some states if you use any weapon even a ball of paper its a felony.
One liver kick from this guy could make you un alive
This is completely bogus. You're not considered a fucking weapon lmao. It's still just assault and battery
I’m trying to get my fists registered as deadly weapons
Bas Rutten just being Batman in Holland
Vleermuisman
Maybe in holland who knows but that bs has long been dismissed in the US.
Bas your my hero
Bro fighting bas rutten is crazy he comes from an old school fighting era. They didn't hit for points or pull punches back then. Not like now a days gaeje vs Ferguson the coach told gaeje not to hit him full strength he was going to kill him. Wouldn't have been something said in bas rutten's days they were stone cold savages trying to hit as hard as they could.
This is a fact.. im not a black belt in any of ky martial arts.. bjj(blue), muay thai for 9 years, judo for 3.. but due to my local reputation as a martial artist and amateur fights, when i was stabbed in a street fight they charged me with a worse felony than my attacker.. all because of my background.. years later, the same kid that stabbed me and got off with lesser chargers claiming he feared for his lofe agaisnt me and thats what prompted him to stab me, was later arrested for killing his gf.. stabbing her to death... no bs..
Juan botello stamford, CT... look it up..
If you have a licensed to fight and trained over 10 years you are registered and a lethal weapon my friend went to jail 10 years for fighting and hurting someone because he was a cage fighter
It’s an aggravating factor.. you’re not considered a weapon there is a category on your paperwork for aggravating/mitigating factors to take into consideration.. I was uncharged from agh. Battery to attempted murder. When they confirmed I was a coach and professional fighter but aggravating factor listed professional mma fighter.. and it just makes it tougher on sentencing.. I had guys try to tell me that nonsense in prison.. both about myself and several ppl about themselves or others.. and I would show them my paperwork.. however I was asked multiple times why I didn’t just kick the blade out of my “victims” hand like Bruce Lee would do… 🤬🤯
Mf think you John wick
There are really no laws in the US regulating martial arts and martial artist. The red string thing, that actually goes back to the head of boxing and it was a marketing gimmick. But here’s the thing. A judge will take a look at you if you’re a professional or train fighter and that could play heavily in their opinion of what any punishment should be. The fact is if you know how to fight and you’ve been trained, are you smart. Seven sad rather be judged by 12 than carried by six. May, I’d rather use my damn head and stay out of either situation whenever possible. You don’t like a freaking adult.
And if you do one of these things were your hands are registered, no matter how much is a Jokers. That crap can backfire on you big time in court. Don’t do that crap.
I think if you are federated (graded / belts) the odds aren’t in your favour. (Been there & they say you should know better) - you get issued a license in the UK. Best thing is just train Muay Thai to a high level with zero grading & claim you don’t train.
Why shit on Chaels register your hands website 🤣
A weapon in court? Didn't know Bas was a highly skilled lawyer😂
The hands are registered as Weapons is a myth that has been reinforced because of such movies like Con Air LOL
2:04 don't tell Chael P 😅
Didnt Quentin Tarantino answer this a few years ago already.
Bas in his Prime was the Scariest Mf to have graced the Earth

Well if civilians wanna fuck around they gon find out
U don’t know what these civilians know , they could been boxing and wrestling for 2 decades.
@@ef6957 Great, then youll find out.
I liked the Sports Science episode with Gina Carano. The amount of damage she could do to human ribs was amazing
UFC fighters are still civilians.
That’s such a stupid question. .. they actually believed that?
idk yal, im not taking any chances, uncle Chael had me register my hands. the courts wont even see me, they take me straight to lock down on a container ship in international waters
To time a kick while a turd is running at you, next level stuff right there.
He was just getting into the court story and interrupted him 🙈
I trained in a MMA gym for a few years that had people training from all walks of like, military, police, s.w.a.t., blue colar, white colar. They had a weekend training event that involved stand up, take down, ground, and weapons defense fighting. The last day of the event a lawyer was brought in to inform all the students that there are more legal ronsequences that will hold up in court for someone who is trained to fight and uses their force irresponsible to desolve a situation, get in a fight, etc. If you take it to far in the streets, you definitely can serve bigger jail time than the average person that does not have fight training. If you kill someone in defense, it can be worse than someone who kills another person in defense that does not have training.
Sure bud all of that really happened 🤡
Great hat
Any fighter any real fighter is not afraid of any other real fighter. Easily including bas
no

Bonk, bonk. Fight over. 😂

He went real easy on that guy!
Hey Bas don't desecrate my flag with that blue stripe!

So much misinformation about pro fighters being considered weapons. Totally not true.
