Thanks for covering our game! =)
I love this game I can’t stop playing it lol there should be more like this
I'm a fan of how you develop stories, from my time with Age of Decadence. I won't forget one time I had an assassin ask politely for a nobleman's jewel of some sort. The man looked quizzically at his aide, who swallowed hard and said I was for real, based on my previous body count. "This one is a killer, and enjoys it". That's how I remember at least.
Looks like loads of fun. Text has some extra space characters in it. Not serious but makes a proofreader like me take note.
dang, this was extremely "my shit" looking and steam never showed it to me! Just picked it up, it looks fantastic.
Let me please use this occasion to say that I've played AoD and it woke up a whole new need for game genre I didn't know I need before.
You people have created something beautiful.
I really really REALLY hope this game does well. The devs have openly said this is make or break for the studio and I desperately want to see them succeed and make more games. The depth and variability in Iron Tower's RPGs is a real treat, and on such stretched funds too!
We certainly hope so!
@@ElhoimCrow Good luck folks, gaming needs studios like yours. Sadly, the price is beyond my means right now though, so good wishes are about all I can offer.
I *have* wishlisted it though, I hope it helps you out.
I don't even have a computer and I might go buy it
This is honestly one of the coolest games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. The world that they've built is engrossing and fascinating, this is the type of game that made me fall in love with RPGs.
That's great to hear, thanks for the high praise!
Thank you for developing this game!
Splattercat is the main and really the only reason for showing which developers have promise that are actually trying to be good to us gamers and not just take our money to abandon ship when they get paid and leave us gamers. More developers should start sponsoring him if they have good intentions on making quality content to be true to their fans.
Got this game and Age of Decadence to help the devs. Petition to highlight more games like these that are great, yet they are going through financial difficulties! Thanks for your great work Splatt.
Not my sort of game but I bought it anyway. People like this need to keep making games
I do this too sometimes, some indie games are not my cup of tea but I recognise they are very good so I buy them anyways, good on you man!
I bought it and I am playing it, but jesus christ the combat is just busting my balls.
@@John_Onestrand"choice linear game"
It litterally means nothing bro, so is BG2 lmao
The general atmosphere of the game is top notch, I genuinely feel like that ship is a real place and the people really went nuts inside. Awesome game, I clocked more than 50 hours in early access and I'm in for a few more now.
Age of decadence was perhaps the best rpg I have played so I'm sold 7 seconds in
It's always great to see returning players, and so much love for our previous work =)
Got 25 hours in this, might not seem that insane, but considering my time allotment for games that's pretty damn good. Really enjoyed it and hope to finish it sometime. Dialogue is great, characters are great, story and setting is amaaaaaazing (!!!!!).
Ive never witnessed someone read wrong words so eloquently and fluently
As someone who enjoyed AOD and Dungeon Rats i have been waiting a long time to play my copy. Glad they got it out i know things haven't been easy for iron tower.
I was going to wait a little longer, but need to support these devs for putting in the work.
I'm not usually into tactical turn based games but the npc interactions, intrigue, and character building look top-notch. I'll definitely be grabbing a copy.
This is exactly the kind of game I love and I will happily support the devs with a purchase. Thanks for showcasing it!
Holy crap spackle Splatman, this looks insane. Going to get wishlisted tonight. Always a big fan of the gritty post-apocalyptic isometrics a la Fallout (original flavor). Splat: "what does the elevator do?" Me: "uhhhh, it elevates?" Splat: "it elevates". LMFAO I'll take this over Baldur's Gate any day (even though I played the first BG back in the day, and love the series anyway).
Just popped up on steam for me on sale decided to watch a few vids on it as it isnt my usual type of game but the devs clearly putting so much love into a game on so little budget just made it an instant buy for me, will always happily support passionate devs that make good games.
I was just looking at this today. I'm glad there's a Splatty playthrough as it was a touch more expensive for an indie game than I would spend without seeing a review.
This game is actually pretty damned good.
Thank you! :D

Colony Ship is one of the coolest games you've never heard of.
It's a great, hard, well-designed RPG. Already have it on the list.
Colony ship is awesome. I would love to see more instead of this being the last.
then spread the word at your favorite streamer or game reviewer.
I joined the beta months ago and had so much fun with it, great to see it's getting some more coverage! I like to believe that quality will rise to the top and this game is amazing quality.
Thank you!
Bought it today, downloading it now. As soon as its done ill put pillars of eternity down and play. Cant wait.
Have only heard great things about this game! So stoked
Thank you splat. Officially adding this to the list of games I own and need to play.
I'm new to this channel and very thankful you're returning to games you've covered before. I've already put some on my wishlist and purchased others.
It makes me sad to see good games go unnoticed especially when I think of the amount of work that goes into them.
Purchased, won't play it for a while but I agree that we absolutely need to send money to devs like this.
I finished my third playthrough today and it's been such a journey. Only Iron Tower makes games that I want to replay back-to-back. I couldn't recommend it highly enough: just get it if you're even remotely interested in the genre.
And get Age of Decadence too if you haven't already. It's more "primitive" in many ways, but just as good.
I can also recommend Dungeon Rats. It is the game they made after AoD, and it is heavily focused on combat encounters.
👍👍 Colony Ship is still looking awesome right here!
Like what u said about, "your character not being the hero." That's pretty much the way for 99.99999% of everyone in reality. 👍🏼😀
The whole premise reminded me of Pandorum with Dennis Quaid.
I bought this on EA and played it to the ragged edges of what was possible, looks like it is time to dive back in and finish🎉
Reminds me a lot of the original fallout. Same kind of intrigue and finding out what happened so long ago to leave everyone in this position.
Thx Splat. I just put this game on my wish list, and I'm trying the demo right now. It reminds me of Shadowrun. I hope the devs make some good money on this.
Looks like an awesome game! Thanks for sharing this one. Gonna have to give this a try.
Dang, this game is gorgeous, thanks Splatt!
Should point out how things you're doing are affecting rep.
Exploring new areas gets you exploration reputation, so people acknowledge you as a better explorer. And that can lead to new quests and such.
I remember playing this game a good while ago and getting to a point where the background looked extremely baked in compared to past areas, but now that it's 1.0 i should go back to it.
Next they should do 1-2 dungeon rats type games to bounce back on their feet: games that aren't too demanding on the script side, and using the same graphics, hopefully that will help. I would buy these in a heartbeat, as both AOD and CS combat systems are excellent.
I'd like to thank Splat for giving this game visibility, as I really believe Iron Tower Studio is the small company with the most merit in the business. Their games are awesome!
I bought this after splattercat's first review. Its a great game!
Game's style reminds me of Shadowrun for some reason.
Edit: Wait.. The devs who made this game are the same ones who made Age of Decadence?
Awesome! Age of Decadence is one the hidden gem RPGs. Had great writing as well. Now, I'm intrigued to check this one out as well.
Yep, we are exactly the same ones 😊
They made another excellent game called The Age of Decadence! Interesting world, history and storylines. Also enjoyable to play through more than once because you cannot cover everything in a single game for multiple different reasons. Character backgrounds is one. Character builds is another. Choice is a third.
Here is his video on that game. ua-cam.com/video/6OSuhRI9UAU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Splattercatgaming
Playing this right now myself, glad to see you covering the launch and giving these great devs a boost!
Thanks for showcasing this game! Perfect timing, I'm in the middle of reading the book trilogy: The Forgotten, by M.R. Forbes, a story about a multi-generation space ship on its way to a new planet. I wonder if the devs got inspired by the book or the opposite, or simply a coincidence.
Some awesome grim-dark vibes on this one! Keep up the great work!
I know you don't do full walk throughs but i would love to watch you play through the full game.
Love this game. Supported in early access and have been waiting for the full release. They've done an outstanding job. In it's genre this game sits up there with fallout 1 and 2 in my view.
Here I give you my support 100% so I bought immediately :)
This game has felt really good so far, and reminds me of a mix of Encased and Underrail with its Indie greatness.
Try their older game age of decadence, the mechanics are a little jankier but the overall story and dialogue is even better IMO.
This absolutely will be my next buy, seen a few videos on this game. I pray you all keep afloat and bringing more of this to the table.
Fantastic game, supported 👍
well, thanks, This game is now in my library.. love these type of games.
Thanks for bringing this up, as an old Fallout fan this one seems right up my alley.
Yep I’m sold. Getting this. Cheers mate for covering these types of games.
You did it again Splat... first it was Explorers Rome, later it was Cyber Punk Flashpoint and others, now it's Colony Ship on GOG for me. Nobody does it better, keep up the good work!
Just finished this game today and I couldn't put it down once it got it's hooks in me. Absolutely love the setting and premise for the story never played anything like it. Also felt like it respected my time with the amount of reading it asks you to do and more often than not you'll wish for a little more due to how interesting the world is.
it feels a bit like the good old Fallout 1/2 from the 90's.
This looks dope. Thanks Splatty!
I saw the game loaded and thought "hmm did the game crash out and he is trying to only be positive in this video to support the game devs?".
Thank you Splatty for explaining that you just got absolutely annihilated and loaded your save ^^
I played it through! From my game collection, one title I could claim to have finished. It's rare for me these days... It was fun!
if you loved orginal Fallout 1 and 2 games i think this is the closest you can get the itch scratched
this game is much more polished than age of decadence , it still is pretty old school and hardcore but allows for much more freedom and exploration. imo its just a better experience over all
I love this game and I'm really hoping the devs will sell enough to make the sequel, thank you for covering it!
I'm buying it. And it's actually getting pretty good traction, it's being played on all the main channels I watch and saw some articles popup on my phone about it. So that's great!
Well that was an easy buy. Thanks Splat!
Hey SplatterCat, you discovered this game for me, and i love it.
getting alpha centauri flashbacks with the mind worms, haha.
9 minutes in, you had me sold. I'm buying this game.
Having a blast with this game, I wish there was co-op so my buddies could hop in!
thanks man, this is an interesting game. heard your first vid on this back when i could hear better...hard shit. its so hard. but the fact i can still hear anything of what you say helps me to cope.
This has been in my library since the last time you reviewed it, really need to invest more time in it
Thanks for showcasing! ^^
Had my eye on this gonna grab it now didn't know it was out.
yo that writing, this is like under rail in space with tons of skill checks
the setting is extremely intriguing
You're killing it dude
Oh this looks amazing
I dig the way these guys all look like Marauders players.
The game reminds me of Stasis.
Didn't know it was 1.0! Definitely buying this.
This is great as well. Gonna buy this one as well. Soo many games soo little time
Can you consider a full series in this?😊
agreed!
Sorry guys that's not how splattercat work, he showcases indie games for you so you can decide if you want to wishlist it or just ignore
Don't expect continues videos of the same game because there is so many indie games he has to cover already
Someone asks this every video and it never turns into a series.
Some games he streams on twitch for longer sessions@@ivebenwatching
I didn't like this game the first yime you covered it. Then it grabbed my attention the second video. So glad you covered this more then once.
Bought it. Played it. Loved it. Highly recommend it if you want a good RPG.
This gives me heavy jagged alliance vibes
looks like an interesting setting
I'm hoping this touches off MORE solid science fiction RPGs moving forward. Plenty of RPG's have you swinging swords, too few are like this gem with the gun/laser play (deadly as it is). I enjoyed this in Early Access and it was worth every penny in it's incomplete state, can't wait to load it up and play it in the 1.0 state!
love this game
We need honest reviews and dev's who do honest work would get more support.
Not blaming any review system, media or dev group but we all know the problems that have lead to us consumers losing fate.
Yes can't make everyone happy but too many bots or money greasing the squeaky review XP
Thank you SplatterCat for being honest.
looks very good!
You are right, some great dialogue in this one...
I knew about this game, never knew it's been released as 1.0
Bought. Will be played some time soon.
This is a masterpiece!.
my first run ended badly. then I knew enough to make a better character and a bit on how to play and ended up pretty decked out when I got to this point and actually fought and killed those guys instead of intimidating them. now that it is released I will go back and either finish up my game, or do another run. it really is a good game, just like Age of Decadence.
One is put through "the wringer" - something that wrings out the water from you.
The game looks like I'm going to be saying "But I'm already ON a quest!".
A lot.
I have something like 6000 hours in Rimworld. I love space sci-fi. Bought this game right now.
looks great!
I've been watching this for a while, but I've been waiting till it leaves early access.
You can do combat encounters, you just have to build your team properly for them (feats and implants). And for truly hard fights you must use energy weapons.
Power cells for energy weapons are super rare and expensive so must be used wisely. I did the Detroit gang fight in Factory, just to see if I can do it. Was not worth the cost in power cells and disruptor grenades. So i went with a diplo solution.
There is also another optional hard fight on maintenance deck (Habitat), where you have to use energy weapons and EMP grenades.
Added to wishlist!
Age of Decadence had a great idea/setting/story, but its gameplay was pretty meh at best to outright bad. The dedication to "LAWL IT'S SO HARD THE PLAYER IS SCREWED!" isn't outright bad, but without the gameplay systems to back it up, that mentality goes from being fun or challenging to just being obnoxious.
Colony Ship, on the other hand, has the systems and depth to actually back up that sort of challenge. It shows how far the devs have come. It's awesome.
