This isn’t the first time Aston Martin made a “new” car from parts bin Fords.
the lead designer for Aston when FORD owned them is still working for FORD designing the new cars. That is why they have that similar look. Aston must be pissed off
Aston has done what Porsche did with the Cayenne. They’ll sell loads of them which is more $ for cool cars of the future.

Nope….the Macan and the cayenne saved Porsche, but the Macan is 50,000 base and the Cayenne is 65,000 …. Not 245,000. Nobody sells loads of 245,000 dollar cars.

1500×189k = $283.5m
Don't have to sell loads of SUV's to generate cash for other projects but Aston Martin is on pace to sell over 3000 DBX and 6000+ total vehicles in 2021 , DBX on pace to generate minimum between $565m - $585m in 2021
@@thawk6792 I generally agree with your point…but profit margin is a thing and I’d want to see what it is w/ the DBX…also keeping in mind there’s far less platform sharing for Aston (really, just engine and infotainment, with Merc) than Porsche does w/ the Mayan and Cayenne (sharing platforms with Audi, Volkswagen, and Lambo) meaning Aston probably put a lot more development cost into the DBX.
@@thawk6792 Porsche has sold on average 17,500 Macan’s and 14,000 Cayennes a year since their inception. Aston Martin is on pace for 2000 ish. And Austin Martin is buying most of the guts for the DB from Mercedes so their profit margin is much lower. I just don’t see AM making it more than a few years more.

Saw one in Miami about 2 weeks ago and it was beautiful. I'd definitely choose this over other modern SUVs.

In the metal, in a good colour (the green and red work particularly well), this looks in a different class. I hate SUVs with a passion (take a perfectly good estate or hatchback, jack it up, make it heavier and less wieldy, then charge more), but this one gets a pass.

The DBX looks great. Right up there with my favorite looking SUV's like the Bentayga, GV80, and Stelvio

The shape of this looks the sportiest and most on-brand out of all the luxury/supercar SUVs, but that might have something to do with it being on a bespoke platform instead of being a redressed Audi Q7 like most of the other ones.
I liked the interior and how Aston-Martin took extra leather and made the chair's piping and on the door. Totally dig it

Unpopular opinion: suvs used to be cool and aren’t anymore. The old k5 blazers, suburbans, tahoes, Broncos, ramchargers, etc. now they are mom cars.
There are some cool SUVs, and some boring ones. It's the same as its always been, it's just now with the SUV market growing so quickly, the boring ones are becoming more prevalent.
What do you think they were "before"?!

My moms car was three of those that you mentioned ... as the courtship period was over and she couldn't fitfully grown kids into the back of a classic Mustang. "Dads" could have a small sedan as a work car back in the day or truck lifted and on swampers, but moms had to get the 5 kids to school and go shopping ...

Beautiful leatherwork and definitely has brand prestige, and that's about it. Luxury can't mean having a generationally old infotainment, no wireless charging, no massage chairs, no semi-autonomous driving, being slower than the competition (Bentayga, Urus, X6M, Levante Trofeo, RRS SVR, GLE63S, Cayenne Turbo). Honestly, like all Astons, this should probably have been priced about $30K lower. Would sell even better starting around 150K.
Having an expensive Grand Tourer SUV without massaging seats is non-acceptable to me.

You should consider civic for reliability not vw..
I own 2012 suzuki swift sport and my friend own 2015 polo gti.. the Swift never really gave me any big problems I only change oil, tyres,belt, brake pads and battery.. still running strong to this day.. my friend polo gave him alot of engine and transmission problems despite its a newer car, he sold it last year and brought used Toyota Corolla.. for reliability it's always no brainer to go japanese cars

Honestly for the money I'd no doubt take the Levante Trofeo over all the options. It looks amazing, very luxurious, and has the Ferrari Pista engine in it. No brainer 🇮🇹

I would like underground tunnels, not having to drive, and not having to own the car in the first place or even look at the outside of it. That's real luxury.
Till now I’ve seen two of the 1/500 special edition here in egypt and missed a chance to get a ride in one because it was my friend’s dad’s friend’s car, super cool it was in a kind of matte green with a brown interior and the other one i saw was black
If they put more effort into the grill mesh this would be a complete vehicle. That being said, it's one of the best looking SUVs I've ever seen

I wish you would've researched the configurator a bit more to know how many personalization options the DBX can have. This is the best SUV interior I've seen and drives amazingly. Only the Stelvio Guadrifoglio is better in terms of driving IMO. Love the vids!
