It definitely is more special than a Urus. Here in LA I see at least one Urus on that road almost every day (and I see two or more in a day way more often than many would think). I've seen so many Uruses on the road, when I see one now I almost treat it like any other regular luxury SUV.
However, I've only seen one Aston Martin DBX so far. If I were to get a high performance SUV, it'd most likely be the DBX 707.

Not about the car, but I think it's neat that the dealer is using the digital e-ink license plates on their vehicles. They advertise the dealership until a car goes on a test drive at which point they change it to show dealer plates. Better than having to prop a plate in the back window or risk scratching the paint with the magnet backed plate. Only legal in a few states, but kind of neat to see.

@@MrManBuzz Well yes and no. Personally I hate when they make everything touch controlled. Sure it looks nice, but buttons just works better when you use them while driving. (Most companies also do that because it's cheaper to slap a screen on the dash. Instead of spending a lot of money on design and layout of buttons)
And I would probably go for something else, if I wanted the car to drive for me. But that's just my opinion. 😊
I do however agree with the fact that it is a bit dated. They should have touch control on the few things they do have on the screen.

And yes I know a lot of the older Astons had Ford, Mazda, Jaguar and Citroën components in them but they had just enough style and substance to keep them an "Aston Martin".

Its interesting because the Urus looks cheaper, the interiors aren't as beautiful and despite the audi touches, they also feel dated inside at least on video and yet, Aston martin cant sell this even being cheaper while urus demand is forever increasing apparently. I haven't driven them but I dont think any of the owners care about driving performance. The urus might be a better a car, who knows, but this 707 feels more special than the incoming performante which looks Mansoryed. We all cry about special cars disappearing and then only buy cars from the biggest conglomerates like vag and Daimler, there was once a time where there was a serious loose between cars and exotics and premium brands crept up that ladder (also down with a classes, macan, etc)
17:42 it was also far cheaper!

My favorite SUV, always has been. Hate the color, but glad they dared to do it. I wouldn't want the 707 since the 'average' DBX is more than anyone will ever need from any SUV (excepting the infotainment), assuming one has a thick bank roll at your disposal. If you have to have any SUV (over any Vantage) I guess this is your car/truck. Aston-Martin simply makes some of the most desirable and attractive cars on the road and I would take almost any of them over the equivalent Porsche model....... and I love Porsches! They do need to give up on the gear selectors. They just don't work and never really did aesthetically especially with the D-drive selector being the fartest away from the actual driver. What? Still, love the car, um, SUV, um, DBX-vehicle-thingy-sporty-whatever, just give me one, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the hood latch thing... RHD Mustang from the US: Handbrake on the wrong side of centre console (not that hard to move), hood latch in passenger footwell. Same with the Ford Mondeo/Fusion. Its in the passenger footwell because why bother.
My dad's Hyundai has no passenger grab handle, but the driver side has an indent where one should live. Because engineering a roof liner to suit both LHD/RHD models is too hard? Lots of LHD/RHD things are shortcut and some of them are just lazy. Re-engineering the cable path for the hood latch is very minor.

Most people don't realize the reason why the hood/bonnet release is in the passenger side footwell is because traditionally in the old days of cross-country GT racing, you would always have a passenger to act as navigator and mechanic. If an issue with the engine came up while driving, you would pull over and say something like "oh bugger, the engine is boiling....Jeeves, be a good man and check under the bonnet, will you?". And that's why the hood release is on the passenger side. From what I understand it's also reversed on the right hand drive models too for that very reason.... it's just an old British tradition. Sort of like how Porsche carries on the old racing tradition of placing the ignition key on the left side of the steering wheel, so you could hop in and start up with your left hand, while quickly slamming it into 1st gear with your right hand.
