You are spot on with Eddie Bauer, one of the best but very affordable winter parkas with potential improvement with the hood.
Eddie Bauer is definitely an awesome jacket. I wore it in -40 weather, I was miserable but my arms and core temperature was comfortable .

Really digging your reviews, great job! I also find that many coats, jackets and shirts are short in the arms and torso for me. Thanks for your honesty, as a Lakota man with longer arms and trunk I appreciate it. We had -50 last winter and the old carhart did not cut it at all. The EB 2.0 looks to be the ticket!

Have you tried the OSC parkas? Thoughts?
Nice video - I'm in the market for a parka for the Midwest and recently tried on the North Face McMurdo which is a longer version of the Gotham. I liked the fit and feel but was surprised that the hood can only be adjusted from the back and not from the front and was surprised that the faux fur attaches to the hood with snaps as opposed to a zipper. For my needs a warm hood is essential. Have you had any issues with the hood of the Gotham keeping out the wind or blowing off altogether? I also noticed one of the other North Face jackets had much nicer faux fur. I think the Eldridge may be a better coat for my needs.

Is it me or does the Eldridge have a weird fit in the sleeves. When i raise my arms, the sleeves fit small around elbows and shoulder blades. I went a size up and I dont see much of a difference, maybe half inch extra room.
What parka do u recommend that is waterproof, warm, and slim (not a big bulky jacket ie. It won’t take up closet space)???

WARNING: i bought my triple fat goose (TFG) jacket online, new with tags, and assumed it
was from an overstock seller or such. i need a replacement fur ruff and
called TFG to buy one. i was told that since i didnt buy the jacket
directly from them that they wouldnt sell me one. they wouldnt honor
their warranty either. what company wouldnt sell a new fan of their gear
a new ruff, or new hood, drawstring, ect., if they had lost or damaged
one, and was wanting to pay for it theirself? i was really excited
owning and wearing this jacket, but now am left with a sense of not
wanting to wear the jacket with pride... in a company that treats their
customers this way.

@@backcountrycariboo fyi, got a canada good ruff that fit on it. the zipper is about 1.5" shorter, but its ok. may buy another zipper sometime

Faux fur should be a pro not con. How in this day and age do you still kill animals for their fur 🤯
