Y'all need to make a spooky season vid where you sing stuff like Eli the Barrow Boy and Downed and Drowned. Shiver some timbers this Halloween, y'know?
I think Robbie is closer to the mic than he usually is, so his harmonies come through a lot better. That might be why some songs felt slightly different than normal. Sounded great though, I think I like this more. I love your random improvised playfulness, it adds so much life and happiness to these streams and videos.
I'd love to have JD do a 5 to 6 minute deep dive video on the "cigar-box slide guitar". We didn't get a lot of details in the "make our own instruments" video.
Thank you so much for this video and the original stream. That’s so cool to see you monthly, to have a live show but staying at home ! Not like a real show but however adequate ! You’re the best ! Thanks again !
@billware6721 having though about it I've realized my last response may have seem kinda... scammy. The link is to the cover of Hills of Mexico that the Longest Johns released not long after this stream. ua-cam.com/video/7CxXw6wOQgI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TheLongestJohns
Bully in the Alley's been one of my most favorite shanties since Assassin's Creed Black Flag! LOL. I'm so happy to hear you fine gentlemen do it so much justice! Any chance that it's on the set list for Colorado? *eyebrow waggle*
That banjo line on Hills of Mexico was inspired by Meredith Moon's rendition, wasn't it? I recognize it! EDIT: The words too!? Awesome stuff, I love her!
I love you! You have the best version of Crossing the Bar. I wish I could have you sing that as they lower me down. But where is the energy in this? Sorry guys, I love you, but this isn't your best. Oh, never mind, I just realized there's more. You just didn't have the energy built up for that first one. Lol Sorry. (Yeah. I'm Canadian. Sorry) Not to worry, the rest is grand, I was being a prick.
Great song choice, but you need to sing it with more energy. Please redo. I love you guys, but this did not cut it for me, especially for such a great song. Needs Oomph!

He's the pride of the white star line!
WOW, the upright bass sounds so good, JD!!
All my favourite songs of yours in one stream - thank you, Johns ❤
Always a pleasure, gentlemen.
How I love your songs😁
The guitar is back!! It has a lovely sound to it

Loved your version of “Fare Thee Well.” I’d be interested to see your take on other songs from “Inside Llewyn Davis.”
Congrats on the 50th and extra points for the Wilhelm scream :)
Please, A HILLS OF MEXICO STUDIO VERSION I AM BEGGING YOU!!!

Can't wait to see you guys in AZ!
Please do Rocky Road live!
Nice! I don’t think I’ve heard Hills of Mexico before. Favorite song in the set!
The hills of Mexico reminds me of another song called Diamond Joe by Colter Wall
This version of "here's a health" has got to be my favourite. Chours harmony was mmm delicious. Sorry not a music person and don't know the jargon.

i am once again asking you to sing any Tanglefoot or Seeger Sessions song.
I agree with the tanglefoot suggestion! I don't think I've heard of anyone else knowing them.
Quite adequate my lads
You guys missed your calling as a bluegrass band
First
