the madlad has done it again. Been a MAJOR fan since your shanty covers blew up in 2021, and yet somehow you still manage to floor me with your skill and talent with every new release. Thanks for being the best in the business, Cap'n! this banger'll be on repeat for weeks. God bless!
YESSS I remember on one of your other shanty vids you asked everyone to name their pirate ship and I commented Colm before the Storm, it's too perfect to not be a name for either your band or album (as long as people actually know how to pronounce 'Colm' correctly LOL)
You have a knack for dropping music at the right time. The 2022 Hoost the Colours when I started my pirate novel, and now this when I'm finishing Act II and plowing through III.
Excellent album! Listened to it five or six times already. I’d have to say Spanish Ladies is my favorite with Ramblin’ Home Again in very close second. Great work, as always!
I've got UA-cam music as my main source of music and so happy that Over and Under and Roll Northumbria are now on that source! A perfect album if I've ever hear one! Stay Handsome!! and Knocking out such great music!
Discovered your stuff somewhat recently, but I just am absolutely addicted. You're awesome Colm, I hope you planned out a little christmas ditty for us soon. Keep up the good work!
I too discovered his work somewhat recently. It began with his "main theme" for the then-untitled Assassin's Creed Valhalla. What really got me hooked was his cover of "When Horns Resound".
Absolutely fantastic! All of your music is superb, but your shanties are on another level. Your original songs are exceptional. The Last Length is by far my favorite shanty.
Ramblin Home again true edition is the best sea shanty ever ! keep up the awesome Colm your my favorite singer man keep up the great and unbeatably great work!
I think I've listened to this album 5 times in the less-than-24 hours it's been out. Every track is a banger, and it's such a perfect bite-size length that makes me want to start it again as soon as it ends.
Colm your sea Shanty's always fill my heads with dreams of the sea I just got me a small sailboat and first thing I did was put a sound System in it so that I could listen to shanties. Well going and I'll be playing your music all the way around the world when I get my big Ship finally thank you for all of the wonderful music
Now I want to know when we get the Video Game Music album “Colm Play” You’ve got enough amazing VGM covers to have it halfway ready already! As for this one, Over and Under is going on repeat. Great album, Colm!
Have had this on loop on Spotify.... thought I'd switch it up and give you some air time here too Cap'n. Everything is amazing but your originals are magnificent 🫶
As a rule of thumb "Spanish Ladies" is always a favorite because its one of my favorite sea shanties in general, but I really like "The Colm Before the Storm" and you fuckin nailed "Roll Northumbria."
Makes me wish I was born in the Maritimes or Newfoundland in Canada. Such a rich culture to have a sound similar as this if you listen for and want to enjoy it.
I came across The Last Shanty thanks to the Derina Harvey Band--what a great song! It's so much fun to hear your take on it. Perhaps you might also try an other they've done, the Last Saskatchewan Pirate? Another shanty genre that might interest you--we have some specific to the Great Lakes! There's a book of them titled "Windjammers" and you might like "It's Me for the Inland Lakes" or "Red Iron Ore" (that latter one was made famous for us Michigan 80s kids by Kitty Donohoe, who did several other lovely Michigan folk songs!). Great work on this album, would love to support you through another Bandcamp purchase, as I often go places where I don't have access to streaming music and would love to have this music on my old iPod for those treks!
Parley! I Invoke the Right of Parley. According to The Code as set down by the Pirates Morgan and Bartholomew. You have to take me to your Captain. An Advisory Cannot be HARMED until the Parley is complete.
Ya diddin't have to do that sir. I am, however, glad ya did. I do need to give you money, though, because man's gotta eat and you are singing for your supper.
@colm mcguinness Mate, the swedish band Civil War did a metal song on the Battle of Clontarf called Dead Man's Glory. I think it deserves your attention. That, and there's a bunch of Irish American civil war folk songs by David Kincaid like Irish Volunteer that also deserve your touch.
Roll the Old Chariot is my personal favorite shanty on this album but Drunken Sailor is a close second me and the lads sing all the time. Crew name is the Rolly Jogers.
Love this album and for free as well 😮 I'm honored I also have an idea for you next cover maybe fairytale of new York following the recent death of Shane MacGowan
I’m wondering what it would sound like if you sang the Deep Rock Shanty from deep rock galactic. Would probably be killer if you brought the vocals down to your super deep tone.
What’s your favourite track off the album?
(Bonus points: Name your crew!)
It actually is "Ramblin' Home Again" and i already bought the album.
My crew is of course The Colmpany!
Favourite Song: Drunken Sailor
Crew Name: Wave Tamers
Roll Northumbria.
Crew: ye old mustaches
Favorite Song: Ramblin' Home Again (True addition)
Crew Name: Rattails
Ramblin' Home Again is an easy clincher, especially the True Edition closing out a killer album overall.
Crew: Eye of the Kerricane
The whole album for free? You spoil us, Colm! Thanks so much for making wonderful music for us.
It’s a criminal offense that this guy hasn’t done “Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" yet.
Can't wait for the next album of peaceful sea dirges, titled "The Colm After The Storm" ;)
the madlad has done it again. Been a MAJOR fan since your shanty covers blew up in 2021, and yet somehow you still manage to floor me with your skill and talent with every new release. Thanks for being the best in the business, Cap'n! this banger'll be on repeat for weeks. God bless!
I'm going on a road trip to New York pretty soon, and you know damn well I'm blasting this the whole way through. Thanks Colm!
Amazing, such a good album Colm👑

You have a knack for dropping music at the right time. The 2022 Hoost the Colours when I started my pirate novel, and now this when I'm finishing Act II and plowing through III.

Just purchased the album. Great stuff. Spanish Ladies might be my favorite right now.
Excellent album! Listened to it five or six times already. I’d have to say Spanish Ladies is my favorite with Ramblin’ Home Again in very close second. Great work, as always!
Making apple compote with a crumble and just vibin'. Its always a pleasure to listen, Mr. Colm!
I've got UA-cam music as my main source of music and so happy that Over and Under and Roll Northumbria are now on that source! A perfect album if I've ever hear one! Stay Handsome!! and Knocking out such great music!
Such a wonderfully crafted album; from the arrangements to the vocals we can all hear the heart, talent, and time you poured into this.🔥
Discovered your stuff somewhat recently, but I just am absolutely addicted. You're awesome Colm, I hope you planned out a little christmas ditty for us soon.

Pretty genius album name. The pun works even if you pronounce your name wrong.

"I See the Light" From "Tangled" in the style of the misty mountains from the hobbit

Hey, Colm, have you ever considered doing voice-overs? You have an incredible range.
Need more Colm + Seth songs
