"The Sword of Kaigen" is one of my top favourites. It is absolutely astonishing how much depth and complexity M.L.Wang managed to give a character in just a single book. Thank you for the other recommendations as well, I'm adding some to my TBR.
Lovers of the Priory of the Orange Tree unite! I love that book so much! Though it’s funny how you put it in the "not a series" video when the translation I read divides it into Part 1 and Part 2 (good idea for my poor hands which didn’t need to hold such a heavy book!).
According to Wikipedia, it has a page count of more than 1000, but it is one of my very favourite fantasy reads and I re-read it with my other fantasy favourites every few years - the Utopian fantasy Islandia by Austin Tappan Wright.
I loved Sword of Kaigen snd Night Circus. Elantris was my first Brandon Sanderson. Didn’t even know who he was back then. I was able yo puck up Guns of the Dawn st my library. Thanks for recommending ❤
Priory of the orange tree is my Fave!!!!! I know what you mean if there were another 200 pages I would not be mad. I might give it a reread this summer.
Little, Big comes in at 538 pages and is well worth reading. The Night Land, at 584 pages, is so unreadable that a short version was made for the American market.
@@FunFantasyBooks It was published way back in 1987, and nominated in 1988 for the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel. It's both magical and disturbing.
I just started reading fantasy books. The first one was The Red Pyramid what would you recommend with something like that being like that I thought about The Sword of kaigen what are your thoughts
Moving Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell to the top of the TBR! I'm so excited to read it, I admit I hesitated for years due to the length but... written by Susanna Clarke? Set in Regency England? Loved by Isa? There's no way I won't like it!
Night circus is very dreamy. But sadly its all vibes and barely any plot or character. It doesnt even explore its characters in details There's no growth, nothing. Its really just vibes
It's fantastic! Beautifully written, imo the writer has a great sense of language. It doesn’t drag, it's moving and interesting, but it's actually easy to read. You don’t get bored because you follow different characters and see the story from different points of view. I highly recommend it.
@@_SilverAsh_Eve there is, but it's veeeery slow in happening and it's never the focus of the story. It's more of a warm feeling kind of thing when you’re happy that the people have found each other and it's to do more with character development.
Love your list! I only read one: The Kings of the Wyld which is very funny. I'm going to read Babel, as soon as I finish the Poppy War trilogy of Rebeca Kuang. I have Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrel and Spinning Silver in my TBR list. The invisible life of Auddie Larue did not make it, why? Short? I'm considering to read Spinning Silver in Spanish too (like you😊).
So glad to see you mention The Night Circus - it does not get enough love!! It's one of my favourite books I've read so far this year.
Oh it is such a wonderful book! It was also one of my favorite reads of last year!!
The only problem with watching other book tubers channels is that it only increases the tbr. Best wishes and happy reading.
Thank you for the recommendations. Definitely a few added to the tbr list😊
I loved the night circus, Babel, the sword of kaigen and warbreaker sm!! I'm excited to check out the others on this list!
Yay!! That makes me so happy! Hope you love the rest of you pick them up!

Hey Isa,
Could you please do a video recommendation of fantasy books and series with just one pov?
Currently reading the Will of the Many by James Islington. I cannot put it down.

I agree, I saw a lot of positive reviews and was pretty stoked to read it, when I did, I was disappointed how "flat" it seemed to me. 😕
I love Fantasy Books! 📖 Hey Isa, can I send you a magical gift so you can enjoy it while reading???
Is priory of the orange tree worth it???
