    Holiday Eggnog
    4 eggs (beaten)
    1 1/3 cup heavy cream
    1 1/3 cup milk
    3 tablespoons sugar
    a dash of salt
    1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
    In a medium bowl, mix egg with sugar and salt. In a large pan, bring milk and cream to 160 degrees. Turn off burner. Add one ladle of milk mixture into eggs constantly stirring. Add one ladle at a time until almost all is
    incorporated. Add egg mixture back into remaining milk mixture. Then add vanilla mix thoroughly. Serve chilled. Enjoy!

    I was taught that the proper serving of Egg Nog was to be served in small cups, like punch bowl size cups, because it was so rich in taste and was considered very expensive back then.
    I had no control when it came to Egg Nog, but learned quickly I had to share among our family and friends when socializing. Only sold once a year at Christmas, eternity for a child, but very very special when it arrived, like Santa!
