Stay in AC and move around in shade, cool down your body and you'll lose melanin too. I was living in Odisha. I was dark. Then I went to live in Himachal for 5 years. I got significantly fairer. Now I'm back in Odisha living in a cooler place and I'm still fairer than before.

Observe that our skin colour would be different during school days and would be different around the age of 22 or smthg. Maybe it's because we have to travel so much and stay under sunlight for quite a time during school days
