The treatment of Acute Mountain Sickness is to get to lower altitude. Do not wait for a helicopter. Then one may develop life-threatening complications like High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE) or High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE). Flying a helicopter in the thin and turbulent air of the Himalaya is not always possible. Anyway brother, great reaction. -Dr. Deepon Chaudhuri, MD (Internal Medicine), Ex- Himalaya Search and Rescue Medical Officer
8:00 sadly chopper can't be brought in every situation... It entirely depends on commanding officer and availability of choppers.. generally they won't get u a chopper unless u r on an emergency..
Ok I'll explain the chopper anomaly, right? That place is higher than the altitude at which commercial jet planes fly. The only helicopter which has a service ceiling anywhere near to that altitude is the Chetak, a old skeleton helicopter which looks like it is out of a steam punk movie. These Chetaks are put on standby, but more often than not they are not used.
Why indian army is so tough to defete...Its Temperature's in minus.. Mountain's ,Very tough place to Battle ..India army is the Masters of mountain war fare... 18,000 feet high altitudes.. Every defense equipment in india is made to withstand in Snowy conditions ..Air crafts are especially made to fly in all weather high altitudes..
