The siachen warrior school is at an altitude above 5000 metres .The siachen glacier is at 6000+ metres.Higher than the highest mountain top in western countries
0:12 Not quite. This is not training of some sort of a special force. It is just a type of Advanced Course for all the Infantry. Officers and men from any out of the 345+ Infantry Battalions of the Indian Army regularly go for such courses after Basic Infantry Training and some years in service. More such courses for the Infantry in particular are imparted by various other schools like:- *CIJWS: Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School.* Elite training in jungle warfare. Forces trained here can even fight in the thick mountainous jungles of Burma. They can even conduct a Viet Cong like campaign against a superior force. This year was the first time 6 women officers managed to enter this school. *Junior Leaders Wing, Comando School, Belgaum:* Two courses: Platoon Commander Course and Ghatak Commando Course. Ghatak Course is to train Commandos or Shock Troops. Each of the 345+ Infantry Battalions of Indian Army have one Ghatak Platoon as a permanent part of the Battalion. At any time, many troops in an Infantry Battalion would have cleared the Ghatak Course, but only the best out of them are allowed to be part of Ghatak Platoon of the respective Battalion. They undergo constant evaluation and if they fail to meet standards even once, they are dropped from the Ghatak Platoon, and thus become a normal part of the rest of the Battalion. Ghatak Platoons provide limited SOF capability to every Infantry Battalion in Indian Army. *Junior Leaders Academies (multiple):* For helping NCOs and JCOs to keep pace with the changing nature of Modern Warfare. *Infantry School, Mhow:* The main Infantry School of Indian Army. Offers 50+ courses. The aforementioned schools also accept some troops and Officers from friendly foreign countries like UK. Also, troops from India's Central Armed Police Forces (basically paramilitary but led by Police Officers) similarly attend. For example, the elite CIJWS also trains CoBRA Commandos of the Central Armed Police Force. Maoist Communist Insurgents in Eastern Indian states quake in their boots at the mention of CoBRA commandos, who have single-handedly reduced the number of insurgent attacks by over 77%. *Counter-Insurgency Pre-Induction Battle Schools (multiple):* For troops operating in insurgency-hit areas of Northern or Eastern Commands. Since usage of heavy weapons is prohibited by law when fighting insurgency on Indian soil, the Infantry men need to learn to make do without their Weapons Company. In addition, there are various *"Corps Battle Schools"* that take care of training any newly posted-in Infantry Battalion. Since each Corps has a specific tasking and terrain to contend with, they specialize to a certain extent. Indian Army doesn't organize as "modular formations" similar to how the US Army does it. Because unlike the US Army, that doesn't know where the next war they'll fight is, Indian Army has a fixed objective and enemy: China and Pakistan. So each Corps is specialized in their objectives and the enemy forces expected to face them, terrain, etc. And although specialized, they do retain enough flexibility for cases such as recently when the I Strike Corps was moved from the plains of Pakistan front to the mountains of Ladakh to face China during the 2020-21 India-China military standoff.
Hi mate, I have just been permanently rejected from the British Army, after an appeal and a further information appeal. The reason is due to a past minor knee issue which my doctor has told them is absolutely fine now. I completely disagree with the decision and have asked to be assessed in person. Have you got any advice on anything that I can do? If not, is it possible to apply for the Royal Navy after being rejected by the army ? Simply refuse to be told I am unfit for military service
Exhibit A: How Pakistan's India obsession destroyed their psyche and hence their nation. This dude is likely in distress due to the extremely poor state of Pakistan's economy. He is likely feeling the pinch. Yet he has got the time to make such asinine comments and congratulate himself for it, instead of doing something productive to eek out a living in his horrendous economy.
This is nothing ..Indian soldiers fought full scale wars above 20000 feet ..
