    I found your channel today. I’m in central Indiana with majority ryegrass, but has about every cool season grasses in it. Plan to overseed this fall.

      Absolutely! It is already turning more dark green in only a few days, especially since we have got a lot of rain since I put it down.

    "How our spring has been so far..."
    WET... really really wet!
    I'm down in Yorktown. We are getting a deluge of water. I've only been able to get to half of my clients propertys this week.
    What do you think about the issue of using spike areators that compact the ground more so than the plug type?

    • @TheLawnLover
      @TheLawnLover  9 місяців тому +3

      Yes, we had a really dry winter and now we are getting dumped on! So much rain and things getting flooded out, I can only imagine how challenging trying to get on client's properties, I remember those days back when I worked in that industry.
      As far as the spike aerator, I don't think it is a replacement for core aeration. For severely compacted soil, I think core aeration does a fantastic job of opening up the soil and allow more air/nutrients/water down to the grass roots. That said, given how much I have focused on keeping my soil aerified over the last several years, I really haven't had the need for core aeration, so I thought using the spike method would be helpful to try out. My main goal with this that I want to test this season is to see if I can use it periodically (especially during disease pressure season) to see if I can help keep things aired out a bit with the spike holes, without leaving cores all over, to help me use less fungicides and cut down the disease pressure. I am curious to see how this works (or doesn't work) over the course of this season and will be documenting/sharing results as I have them.
      Thanks for watching and good luck with the 2024 lawn season - hopefully things dry out a bit for us soon!

    I used thatch buster last year along with tons of other products, but I'll say that I have 99% zero thatch, pure green.

    • @TheLawnLover
      @TheLawnLover  8 місяців тому +2

      I could tell midway through last season that thatchbuater was legit when I raked up some areas and found all the deco posing thatch. It's great stuff. Thanka for watching!

      Thatchbuster works fantastic, I have been using it for going on my third season now and it really has cut down the thatch and improved my lawn. Why do you say it doesn't work, I'm just curious? Thanks for watching!

    • @xBenny_Blanco
      @xBenny_Blanco 9 місяців тому +1

      @@TheLawnLover Sorry bud, I'm wrong. I confused it with liquid aeration for some reason. Liquid detacher does have it's uses. For Thatch and especially for a better root system.
