I kept hoping you would come up with a 2 gallon sprayer for people with smaller lawns and aren’t as strong. I’m disabled but still get most of my exercise spraying the lawn. I can’t push a spreader but I’ve been having nice results with the all liquid and get a bit of help when I need grubex or the 1-15-1 that needs to be applied to my St Augustine. With the new upgrades it’s still going to be large and cumbersome but I’ll just put 2 gallons in it. My walking speed is slow, more of a shuffle so I use a very small tip. I’m hoping the new backpack sprayer I just ordered from you comes with some smaller tips. Consider a 2 gallon still for those of us that are a bit broken and maybe for the ladies. I’ll see you in the lawn. ✌️
I just bought your back pack sprayer. I have been using the chapin sprayer for the last two seasons. What a game changer with the Yard Mastery sprayer. I should have purchased sooner🤘🏼

FRAC 3 and FRAC 11 are great, used them regularly in ornamental production. FRAC 3 were our prevention for mildews, and some leaf spots. FRAC 11, or strobins, had a broad range of uses from crown and stem, root diseases, and mildew and leaf spots. Fungicides are great, but as we are taught in disease management, prevention is your best bet. Great video!
Rhizoctonia ravaged my Empire Zoyia pretty bad in 3 areas this winter (Tampa) and that's with rotating group 1,3,11 fungicide regularly at currative rates and watering properly. Truly got my but kicked with it this year too, lol. I'd shut it down with chems then 3 weeks later it'd start oranging up again on its perimeter, taking more turf. Was a total PITA. Great vid.

ProVista is just “ok!” The problem that I have is it grows way slower than the weeds. In turn, I feel like you will be fighting weeds (depending on locations and prep). While it is resistant to glysophate. The glyphosate will further slow the growth. This is just my opinion and experience. Good luck!
Recommendation to fully improve your backpack sprayer: A Quality Waist belt ( padded on the rear and side, snap or clip in front) Not unlike a waist belt for a quality hiking backpack ( one with a frame) . It will reduce the majority of pressure on the shoulders, moving the actual weight to your hips and not back.
A couple of years ago I watched a video explaining what to place on our weed infested patchy lawn. Within a couple of years our lawn was Amazing! We even won “yard of the week “ in our community. But this year I have no idea what has happened. Weeds have overwhelmed our yard! 😢
Wont comment on the SIX battery usage but will on the fungus. Here in CT I gotten over 20" of rain past 3 months. Moss and Fungus are my issues this spring.
Hey LCN - Can you do a video debunking/confirming the myth that oak leaves harm your grass? And if so, are there any tips to mitigate? I live in Dunedin and I feel like my St Aug has gotten absolutely wrecked by my three live oak trees.
For the fungicides the labels say use 2-4 gallons water per 1000. Is that not necessary? I'd rather spray like I do everything else. But I was going to split the fungicide rate and do multiple passes (east west and north south) to get the 2-4 gallons down where I usually only use 1.
Allan im desperate.. a drout toasted my lawn beyond what i think normal care will recover. Seeding? New sod? This will be the "climbing K2" of lawn recovery. I need advice on how to proceed.. i know next to nothing about lawn care at this point. thanks
Hello. I just moved from inland Hot as Hell Southern California to Atlanta area. I love your channel❤ I have a somewhat shady property. I planted annual ryegrass in the fall and it’s like Ireland out there. LUSH. Question. Can I plant tall fescue over it in early befor the grass starts to fail in early spring? And can I spray tenacity the day of overseeing seeding? (In spring and summer there is horrible crabgrass, spurge and knotweed) And then after the tall fescue has been mowed twice? Am I on the right track?
A number of years ago I lived near Augusta, GA for about a year. The winters are nice at 70° all winter. However, it’s 95° and 95% humidity in the summer. To hell with that! 😂 I imagine Florida gets a little bit worse? You guys can keep that weather. I’ll stay here in Illinois.
Good video. But I can't tolerate that leaky hose fitting. I just replaced a year-old hose, male fitting did the same thing. Free replacement luckily. Someday I will get a decent backpack sprayer, pretty much a granular guy right now.
ooooooh. Of course you gave the Titan max away. And I was curious how yours was going to hold up vs mine. Because I love mine. I just wish it had a few more ponies on my zoysia.
I find brown leaf spot on my fescue every year and I’m late to react to it… I want to get ahead of it this year but I have also over seeded. Can you apply this on a freshly over seeded lawn or do you need to wait?
I am curious if you have a iron / fert recommendation (Spoon Juice?) if I am letting a company handle the basics, but I'd like to green and strengthen. I've already paid for the year and they do OK.
if you are looking for something to apply in between their apps to keep it green then Spoon Juice is a good liquid or if you want granular try this: thelawncarenut.com/products/soil-fit-8-0-3-natural-base-fertilizer
I have a 4’x4 patch of Creeping day flower and Hairy bitter crest popping up among some bare spots. Grass is saint augustine. Live south of you in Naples. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
Allyn I notice you’re spraying in the middle of the day. Do you ever worry about whatever you’re spraying not making it into the root zone and not being effective? I always panic when I need to spray and attempt to get whatever I’m spraying off of the blades before it dries and end up cycling my irrigation over and over again trying not to let it dry out. Should I just spray like normal, water in per instructions and let it do it’s thing?
The water may evaporate but the chemical compounds are left behind. In this case, fungicides, they have some topical (contact) use so having them sit on the grass for several hours without getting watered in is a good thing. The reason some products need to be watered in isn't for fear of evaporation, it's just that they need to get into the soil in order to work. There are cases where products can be degraded by the sun (prodiamine) but it has to sit for several days for that to happen. Overall though, most products are not effected negatively by sitting in the sun. Think of professional lawn services that spray all day everyday - their stuff sometimes doesn't get watered in until the weekend or longer, results are still good.
Been meaning to ask your advice. I have a neighbor that is battling my domination line with his crabgrass. His lawn is full of it and it is intruding into my backyard shrub border. Last year, I tried to pull young plants and carefully spot treat with Roundup. I pretty much lost the battle and spent a lot of time doing it. Do you have any suggestions or offer any products that would be more effective? Maybe a preemergent? I definitely don’t want to damage existing shrub/ perennials planted there. Btw, I live NW of Chicago and the shrub border is already heavily mulched.
you can use prodiamine pre-emergent and spread it around the shrub beds as well - it will not harm them. thelawncarenut.com/collections/granular-fertilizer/products/prodiamine#

Why do people still listen to this guy? His lawn is constantly under attack by bugs and fungus because of the constant application of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and fungicides. LCN has killed all the microbiology in his soil. He needs to rebuild his soil microbiome so it can defend itself from disease and pests or he will never have a nice problem free yard. I have watched his yard go downhill the last 5 years due to him killing off all the healthy fungi and insects that live within the soil. Not all insects are bad and you actually need mycorrhizal fungi for a healthy lawn.

Hi Alan. I have followed your channel for many years. I live in NH. I recently visited a close friend who lives in Sarasota now. Are you in that area?
not too far - I'm in Bradenton.
Would it be better to have a granular fungicide to work at the soil level and liquid for the foliar level? Also is spoon juice foliarly absorbed?
You can go either way. They will both work just fine since this is a preventative. Spoon Juice needs to he watered in for sure.
