Carlos rosario not always valid, on one of my departments engines there are floor pedals for both on each side and on our quint the horn is on the dash with a switch
Carlos rosario It's not always that way. Some just have the air horn pedal on the LTS side. Others have just a button, and some only the engineer can use the q and the horn. Others have a string to sound the horn on both sides
he sure does!! You can tell he doesnt fuck around too. he was hella concentrated the whole time not engaging in the passengers talk/laughs until the call was over that is. This is exactly what i would expect from a man driving a tank down the road with a mission, not to mention not letting the fellow tax payers down
I was a volunteer fireman for St.helens Oregon for seventeen years and I miss going code three with lights sirens and blowing the air horns. Sure how much nicer the firetruck are these days. I remember those days when we got to ride in the back of a firetruck
What I would do to tag along for the ride. I have so much respect for these guys. Keep up the good work and please let me know if civilians can ride shotgun.
I know in my department I’m not sure if it’s a law or for insurance reasons but civilians aren’t allowed in the apparatus while moving. I remember when I was just joining the fire department, they’d have me check pack and stuff but even when they had to move the truck to another side of the building or something they’d tell me to get out. Now the captain at that time was also a dick but yeah. Even when I was finally voted in I still had to ride with the chief to drills until I had my medical because if we got a call and something happened I wouldn’t be covered. So depends on where you live and who’s in charge of your department you might be able to get a ride along but during an actual call that’s highly unlikely.
Full face beards are not allowed in the UK. With positive pressure sets a seal doesn't matter as contaminants cannot enter the mask but without a seal air duration is reduced to leakage caused by a beard. You can have a moustache and you can have a goatee but a full face is a no-no.
@@lilcheif1133 I transferred out before my son joined my station as I just didn't want any form of conflict of interest as his watch commander. He had to work that station as he was a retained firefighter (since joined whole time) but I was a day crewing Sub Officer (now called Watch Manager and the equivalent of your Captain) and full time and could work any station. I decided I'd had enough of 48 hours full time plus 48 hours on call and went back to a simple 2-2-4 48 hour tour. I did wonder what it would be like to work with him but I don't regret the move.
Engine 5er volunteer departments don’t require it. These guys prolly came from home, doing stuff, and they did get a call. They don’t have time to go shave.
Rich B it’s required so the departments don’t get yelled at for liabilities. My dad is a career firefighter. He also volunteers, and he’s never had an issue masking up with a beard.
how fast can you control it? though personally i think this was a tad fast for a ladder truck going to a brush fire, but I'm not the driver and ultimately its up to him.
+Benjamin Roth some schools have diesel pumps there for buses and they sometimes allow FD's to fill rigs with them, as the gas money paid goes towards the school.
NOW thats one hell of a fire truck driver, he actually drives the truck to an emergency he dont baby it, as for the trucker on the highway you fuckin gmoron when you hear and see a fire truck coming up behind you you dont cut in front of it. love it tords the ending the fire truck driver was like we have momentum now lets see if we can pass him come on girl. love that he works the truck the truck dont work him. Co-driver.... your job everything but to drive... sirens, radio, situation awareness. All in all...... 98%.
another fire truck racing along with all the sirens and air horn with no one around. Really, another video for training for when and when not to use sirens.
very good driver !! concentrated, not aggressive, very fast but not dangerous for others and himself. damn good driver ! congrats.

Hell of a job driving!
When the Q is high and it has an echo off of everything then and only then is it done right!

there are foot pedals on the LT.s side theirs a horn pedal and federal q pedal im a Boston firefighter

That drive looks like he has muscles. It's like a muscular driving unity. Look at his arms though.

He has to get to a call so
One of the best drivers I've seen on all these videos!
Not a good Engineer. If you think so then your also an idiot. In my department no need to apply.
Wasn't there a famous O. Winston Link photo of the Buchanan Fire Department in the 1950's with a N&W steam locomotive in the background?
Holy warp speed lol. Fastest truck video yet

Civilians can not ride shotgun shotgun is for the navigator radio op and airhorn which is 99.9% of the time an officer
how does the one guy get away with his beard does your air mask get a good seal?
Vincent Caggiano was going to say something lol
I've not had any issues with a seal on mask
Yea, my dad says he doesn’t have a problem with sealing up without shaving, IDK why they make him shave for work. He’s a FF/Paramedic.

Thanks for the ride along guys that was fun !!! 😊👍🚒
Seems like he's always driving and you're always up front on the Ladder. Lol. At 5:30 did you say "Go Dad, go?" Or am I just imagining things. Lol
Yeah pretty much cause we live close to the station. I said "you're good dad go" as we were at an intersection. haha

7:05 that truck didn't stop for the fire truck he just passed it like the truck wasn't responding
As a semi truck driver you are better off getting over a lane and letting them pass. It's not easy to get up to or down from speed in a truck.
Lol
thank 4 the ride from pops 64 liberty ky
was the call cancelled
ismaeel mansoor no, the sirens are actually pretty annoying to listen to lol we shut ours off on the highway and use the wailer going by traffic
