I'll just say what we're all thinking: Marc Ribot is the most underrated guitarist of the 20th and 21st Century. So influential. Such a touch and tone. Don't get no betta.
J'adore ! Bien à vous.
I only came here because Annie Clark mentioned Marc Ribot in an interview. How the fuck have I never heard of this man. Wonderful. Not to take away from the rest of the band too. All excellent Thank you.
Is this the best concert i have ever witnessed ? probably. undoubtedly. certainly. YES. definitely. all genres included. if John's Saxophone was built by Adolphe Sax himself...i wouldn't be a bit surprised. The tone. The metal's age old finish. The octave key's design. Majestic. ( an 1890's Art Nouveau inspired model )
@@ebaylistentomusic YOU know NOT ONE FUCKING THING about Selmer Saxophones. This is most likely an Adolphe Sax. Why would John Zorn buy a 10k Sax ...when he can afford an original master
I love everything about this concert! I am now on an Internet hunt to find every Zorn I can, and then put in a file next to my Ellington Mingus etc files - I really think he's that good.
Marc Ribot on fire here. Trance-like experience just by watching this vid, cant fathom what would be like playing it in front of that crown with that fine ensemble
Absolutely amazingly wondrous. Every musician at the top of their game and having a blast. Zorn creating from moment to moment with his direction, stirring the cauldron till it boils over with the groovinest energy ever laid out. A masterwork. Never followed Zorn although hearing about him through the many years, especially with Ribot. I am now a greatful follower. Searching back and forward.
I Love this show... O'o is one of my favorite album.. and John Zorn, one my favorite contemporary Jazz musician-composer ( (if not the absolute favorite, given the multifaceted sparkling ideas, and the rare ability to make them feel good together, always and in any case ..). Thank YOu!
I mean, who gives half a concert without even putting his horn together and then manages to captivate the audience while he's building it and keep the genius happening even as he's putting a reed in and then just unleashes that fury? JZ, that's who.
I'll just say what we're all thinking: Marc Ribot is the most underrated guitarist of the 20th and 21st Century. So influential. Such a touch and tone. Don't get no betta.
Is he playing Gretsch guitar this time ?
@@getback3554 Yup. It can be seen on the headstock around 40:00.
he is the greatest guitarist alive. no question, my private instructor david tronzo is peers with him. it’s incredible what these guys do.
Definitely. And let's not forget: he's left handed but plays right handed!
I caught a ceramic dog show recently it’s was great. It was like music art
maybe i'm to0 high, but this best damned concert i ever seen.
Im on same shit, bro
no such thing as too high....
Don't you wish, as I am, you were there?
NO DOUBT
yes.
Wow, Marc Ribot is amazing
Epic! Badass!
Every time It cuts to Cyro Baptista, he's just playing the most insane instrument for half a bar
Joey's omnipresent grin always makes happy
I come back a couple times a year to watch this.
I never get more excited than when Zorn looks at Marc in the opening sequence and says BLOW
This is one of the best concerts ever.
......

I love Marc Ribot hammering away at that big old Gretsch with what appears to be his house keys!
I love this set of music so much. I can't even begin to count how many times I come back to this.

Every one of these guys is an extraordinary musician. Thanks, Zorn, for bringing them together...love your sax, too, man.
I've never enjoyed a solo like that in a long time

I looked her up and now you've got a new Annie Clark / St. Vincent fan. Her stuff sounds awesome.
Marc Ribot is a Name for me in Guitar. GREAT !!!
The band is amazing BUT most amazing to me is the composer that directs all of the band to play this masterpiece. Thanks OP.
Everyone is amazing, incredible musicians. Marc Ribot, well, there's nothing about him that we don't know already. His whole presence is astounding
i wanna play guitar like that!

Holy shit, i had no idea that was named after a guy. Time to learn a thing to two!
Its a Selmer Mark VI made somewhere in the 1950's-70's

One of the best lives ever.
9:39 Ribot playing keys, literally.
Hahahahahahhahahahahahahha
Stumbled upon this after looking into more from the Mr. Bungle guys. This is so bananas, I love it!
This is amazing!!! Great stuff! Marc is crazy!!! I love this!!! John is a Genius!!!
Well, that was mind blowing.. Thanks.
the only thing I wish is that there was a camera always showing John Zorn, and have that shot laid into a corner of the image
this is stupendous stuff

I cannot believe I'm seeing this live in October.
Lucky bastard!
I love how so many people love this! I love how I love it! And I LOVE it!!
Yes!We are like some secret sect here.😂
What is most real for inspired musicians are the illusions they create with their pictures and musics. The rest is just quicksand
