@Nadya Karpova edits I’ve tried looking for live streams of news but can’t seem to find any on UA-cam (like I do with Japanese).. but regular videos work fine too, I’ll try it. Thank you!

Здравствуйте. You'd usually say that if you don't know the person or for elders and people of higher position in work place. Привет for family and friends, even co-workers if you're cool with them, mainly people you really know.
Always learn new words in context and immediately learn a new word, practice it in context, combining the new word with those words that you already know well in your own examples. This will significantly accelerate the pace of your progress. Good ideas! I saw a similar video where a guy films himself every day talking about himself in the language he wanted to learn, he would speak english if he didnt know the word he was trying to say. He would then immediately rewatch the video and look up all the words he didn’t know and try again the next day. By 30 days his speaking skills and vocab relating to his own life improved so much! Always say im gonna do it but instead I find myself just watching more videos on how to learn faster 🤣
One of the useful methods that I use is Yandex browser. Why? Because there is a voice assistant that you can talk to in Russian, if your case like mine, don't have anyone to talk to( In general, it does sometimes use difficult vocabulary, but it's a great source to know new words and in what contracts they are used.
