This dress is like a breath of fresh air on a summer's day, so lovely. Everyone will love this very helpful tutorial when they construct their dresses. Your tips are especially helpful in constructing the bustier. Awesome work, Tamara!😍
I have never cut and made anything in clothing in my life. However, I completed this pattern and added a little more to it. Thank you for the tutorial. It was easy and helpful.
Hi Tamara - I am trying to find the video of this dress I listened to yesterday- I put your videos on in my studio and just listen away- great background and sewing information you are always sharing - and I cannot find the one I remember. BUT this might help jog your memory- it was an early one, and you said you had been reading comments to play less music and more talk. I don't think the romper was in it. Also you mentioned other dolls that were RTB101. Can you help. please,? You are a great designer and instructor! Glad you are back with Grace Marie this year!
The dress is adorable. Grace looks good in it. I noticed you were using your old machine instead of your new one. Keep up the good work. Your designs are great. From Tennessee
Love this pattern. I have a pattern similar to this for vintage Revlon dolls but I'm not always successful with altering a pattern for a different doll. You're the best!
Again, it would absolutely amazing if you could make this pattern available for Gene marshall. I love sewing for Gene but there aren't many patterns out there. Please consider
@@DesignsbyJude Thank you so very much. I really appreciated! It Your videos are fabulous. I've been sewing dolls clothes for several years but I always pick up something from sewing lessons....(not so much the quick one put to music! Lol)
The sewing machine is a Pfaff 130. It about 70 years old. I recently bought a new Pfaff 620 with all the bells and whistles and 130 different stitches, but reverted back to the classic. They handle material differently and I find the simpler machine easier to use. I need to refinish my sewing machine table when I get time. It looks vintage too. :)
I have been following this video sewing the dress in Ellowyne size. But her head is so big, if the shoulder strap sits right, I do not get it over her head, if it goes over her head, it sits too lose around her shoulders . How did you manage? And - do I sew the seams on the bodice with 1/8" seam on all parts? With the usual 1/4" seam that bodice does not fit. The instructions do not say anything about the seam allowance.
For Ellowyne, you need to make two straps and tie them at the back of the neck. A apologize if I did not write that in the direction. The first edition of the pattern was for Grace. The seam allowance is 1/4" throughout construction.
The dress is specifically made for the RTB101 body. Measurements: Height 16.5", Bust 7 1/4", Waist 4 7/8", Hip at top joint 6 1/2", Hip at widest part of the thigh 7 1/4". Making it for another doll will require adjustments.
There will be a second video for this pattern showing how to attach the shorts to the bustier to make the romper. Enjoy!

Do you have a pattern for the pressing hams?
I do not, but I have seen them on Etsy.
Are they suitable for Barbie doll
The pattern is for a 16" doll. It will not fit Barbie.
Is it possible to get your patterns in Europe?
Yes. Our patterns are formatted to print on A4 paper. You can order PDF patterns through our website. www,fletcherpatterncompany.com
Does this pattern fit Barbie?
No. This pattern is not currently available in that size.
What happened to your Pfaff 620?
Still has the 620. I switched to my old reliable for this project. The small pieces were getting caught in the feeddogs.
Where do you get your dolls
The RTB101 doll in this video as well as the Ellowyne dolls are purchased through the Virtual Doll Convention. www.virtualdollconvention.com

I wish I could sew but the Republic of Sweing Machines have declared war against me 🤷♀️
Revolt against the republic. It just takes practice and patience. You'll be sewing up a storm in no time. :)
Love this style dress, does this come in Barbie size? If not will it in the future?
The pattern is currently available for the 16" dolls only. No immediate plans to make it in the smaller size, but perhaps in the future.
