Very noce video!! I'm an online cash game player who falls in love in live deep tournaments. Even though those series are about cash games, it helps me a lot understanding some of life tendencies.
Bart, I have made river bets keeping a small amount of money behind. simply because I think when a player hears "all in", it sounds stronger than a numerical amount. And in this spot where there isn't much Ron can call with, you're just begging for the call. On the flip side, the numerical bet almost screams for a call and looks like that too.
this is pretty straightforward, the analysis is betwixt two hole card holders can be "seen", thus the point is moot since there is no scrutiny about any unknown factors; as is a surety in nearly every competition between two or more players -almost all videos like this decry this kind of crap as if it were something to take into consideration when playing in a game in which information is incomplete and thereby is useless in a real setting.
+DrmrGrrl Well with AK u wouldnt check turn so when he raises ur turn bet, its unlikely he has AQ or worse cuz he would jus flat those hands the whole way Either bluff or 55/6x, gotta make up ur mind based on reads
bohemia187 Gotcha. Thanks for the response. I'm more of a tournament player, so there are times I would check the turn for pot control in case my opponent has those other hands you mentioned. Been trying to transition to cash game but not having a lot of success.
Im pretty sure checking that turn w AK in a tournament vs almost anyone is a pretty bad play The chance of villain having a better hand is way too slim and you have to get value there or you just wont last.. Since in a tournament the chips you have are all you have until the end, the main point is to get the most value out of ur value hands, if u cant do that then ur chances of winning will just become lower n lower until its like under 1%.. And then because other players r getting more value in similar spots n making more chips than u, they will generally last longer in the tournament than u as well
you say he should ck raise the turn. these are 100 bbs stacks 1k? so if he bets 100 into 200 a 2.5 or 3x ck raise would be pretty commiting wouldnt it? shove?
Poker is an easy game to learn, but it is a very difficult game to master. Give one particular hand to 10 different pros, playing it in the same position, you are likely to get at least 7 different ways to play it.
ShoganOrion he's so overrated it's not even funny, typical mediocre live player that did nothing but run good in a few tournies. He got absolutely owned by Theo and Phil at the WPT he luckboxed btw. Has so many leaks and fundamental flaws
I have only been playing for a 5 months or so but you are the best poker thinker...Great Video!!!
Love this video Bart, looking forward to more.

So what's the optimal play as both plays seem extraordinarily strong
if you c/r the turn on that first hand, how big are you betting river or are you giving up? what does the river card depend on for you to bet it?
so good! ty! very very very useful
speechless.... this is just so right and so useful.

Do all the CLP videos now have captions?
The best way to learn poker strategy is to just go & play!! The more you play, the better your strategy........
On the hand with QQ vs 67, what if the QQ was AK instead? Still easy fold if your opponent takes that line?

i think i'd check back the quad aces in hopes villain hits the flush or full house on the river...you could stack him that way

I have found the primordial clp
Interesting video but honestly IMO the poker game is not that compicated, but nice breakdown of the hands.

Home boy at 19:25 (middle) has a wpt bracelet.
Thats Matt Salsberg, also noted tv writer and producer

Thai doesn't get a good read and is in denial. Spot-on analysis. It is a horrible flop for him. Worse he doesn't respect board pair.
am I the only one that finds the constant swallowing and lip smacking noises sooo annoying???
