Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is an award winning dark ride that debuted in 2010 at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For over 9 years, this attraction has been an all time fan-favorite.
On a magical flying bench, this ride takes guests into the world of Harry, Ron and Hermione. On this ride, guests will experience Dementors, a Dragon, massive spiders, a Womping Willow, Draco Malfoy and a Quidditch match!

When I was riding the attraction, when the ride went into the green smoke, we got put into the stationary platform. Dude I was scared af
The hands were removed from the FL attraction bc they kept accidentally touching the benches / riders. A team member said that on a different video I saw
The story of JK Rowling getting scared actually came from the finale where multiple dementors fly out at you. To fix this they didn’t remove the hands but instead turned the effect off entirely. So basically there’s more dementors in the dark that you can’t see
I always thought the air jets was for the wind effects

It's so funny because I used to have a lot of problems with motion sickness and car sickness and that stuff and was super disappointed when I visited Orlando cause I thought I couldn't ride any of the attractions because they all said it's not good for people with motion sickness. I did every single ride, I never felt sick😅 but I know of a lot of people that always feel sick after this ride🤔
No I every time I rode this I did not vomit

The dragon on this ride fucked me up. When it blew hot air in my face, it folded one of my contact lenses. I had to keep that eye shut so my contact would stop moving. But right after that, the ride stopped for some reason. There am I hanging in the air almost cursing like a sailor because a dragon hated my eyes. After the ride was done, I went straight to the restroom and had to throw away that contract. Luckily, I brought spares.
I can't tell you how much it means to me to see Universal videos and to hear the Islands of Adventure music as well in your intros.

How did you get the original footage for the ride? I'm looking for the video for a project.
I was just there and someone had gotten sick on the ride. It was 6 vehicles or so ahead of us. All they did to clean it was wipe it down and send it through (they did not stop it) then when we got on our cart and went through there was puke all over one of the screens. When I got off to tell the worker he told me that they couldn’t stop the ride to clean and they have to wait until the park closes to clean it. This was at universal Orlando on June 21st. Kinda broke the magic I won’t lie

I went down the stationary track once, which was odd because the other party didn’t have a wheelchair. The ride attendant let us go again!
I still get motion sickness on this ride half the time I have to sadly close my eyes! Lol
